OATHS PROMISES SWEARING VOWS
Another Hebrew term is "to put oneself under a curse" in order to receive God's blessing. We are therefore placing ourselves under a curse, to be damned if we don't keep our part of the oath.
People swear and promise all the time, without being mindful that they perjure themselves and invite curses and death. We will see just how serious these very utterances of vows can bind us. Some major examples include the oath between Joshua and the Gibeonites, and the vow of Jephthah.
Swearing, promising, vowing and making oaths are serious business. Life and death.
Deuteronomy 23:21 When thou shalt vow a vow unto Yahweh thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for Yahweh thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.
23:22 But if thou shouldest be unwilling to vow, it is not sin in thee.
23:23 That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto Yahweh thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.
Matthew 5:34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
5:35 Nor by the earth; for it is His footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
5:36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
OATH, n.
A solemn affirmation or declaration, made with an appeal to God for the truth of what is affirmed. The appeal to God in an oath, implies that the person imprecates his vengeance and renounces his favor if the declaration is false, or if the declaration is a promise, the person invokes the vengeance of God if he should fail to fulfill it. A false oath is called perjury.
PROM'ISE, n. [L. promissum, from promitto, to send before or forward; pro and mitto, to send.]
1. In a general sense, a declaration, written or verbal, made by one person to another, which binds the person who makes it, either in honor, conscience or law, to do or forbear a certain act specified; a declaration which gives to the person to whom it is made, a right to expect or to claim the performance or forbearance of the act.
2. In law, a declaration, verbal or written, made by one person to another for a good or valuable consideration, in the nature of a covenant, by which the promiser binds himself, and as the case may be, his legal representatives, to do or forbear some act; and gives to the promisee a legal right to demand and enforce a fulfillment.
3. A binding declaration of something to be done or given for another's benefit; as the promise of a grant of land. A promise may be absolute or conditional; lawful or unlawful; express or implied. An absolute promise must be fulfilled at all events. The obligation to fulfill a conditional promise depends on the performance of the condition.
PROM'ISE, v.t. To make a declaration to another, which binds the promiser in honor, conscience or law, to do or forbear some act.
SWEAR, v.i. pret. swore. [Eng. veer; L. assevero.]
1. To affirm or utter a solemn declaration, with an appeal to God for the truth of what is affirmed.
2. To promise upon oath.
3. To give evidence an oath; as, to swear to the truth of a statement.
VOW, n.
1. A solemn promise made to God.
VOW, v.t.
1. To give, consecrate or dedicate to God by a solemn promise.
2. To devote.
VOW, v.i. To make vows or solemn promises. He that vows, must be careful to perform.
Jasher 21:21 And Ishmael dwelt in deserts and in tents, traveling and resting for a long time, and he did not see the face of his father.
22 And in some time after, Abraham said to Sarah his wife, I will go and see my son Ishmael, for I have a desire to see him, for I have not seen him for a long time.
23 And Abraham rode upon one of his camels to the wilderness to seek his son Ishmael, for he heard that he was dwelling in a tent in the wilderness with all belonging to him.
24 And Abraham went to the wilderness, and he reached the tent of Ishmael about noon, and he asked after Ishmael, and he found the wife of Ishmael sitting in the tent with her children, and Ishmael her husband and his mother were not with them.
25 And Abraham asked the wife of Ishmael, saying, Where has Ishmael gone? and she said, He has gone to the field to hunt, and Abraham was still mounted upon the camel, for he would not get off to the ground as he had sworn to his wife Sarah that he would not get off from the camel.
26 And Abraham said to Ishmael's wife, My daughter, give me a little water that I may drink, for I am fatigued from the journey.
27 And Ishmael's wife answered and said to Abraham, We have neither water nor bread, and she continued sitting in the tent and did not notice Abraham, neither did she ask him who he was.
28 But she was beating her children in the tent, and she was cursing them, and she also cursed her husband Ishmael and reproached him, and Abraham heard the words of Ishmael's wife to her children, and he was very angry and displeased.
29 And Abraham called to the woman to come out to him from the tent, and the woman came and stood opposite to Abraham, for Abraham was still mounted upon the camel.
Abraham was a righteous man in all things. Abraham kept his promises.
The story of Abimelech and Abraham begins in Genesis 20. Abimelech was an Adamite King of Gerar in the land of the Philistines. He was kin, of the same race, as Abraham (20:3-7). Abimelech desired Sarah. Yahweh said 'NO'. Abimelech responded and blessed Abraham and Sarah with land and gifts, settling the trespass (of covetousness) against Sarah.
Jasher 22:4-5
4 And the days increased and reached twenty six years, and after that Abraham with his servants and all belonging to him went from the land of the Philistines and removed to a great distance, and they came near to Hebron, and they remained there, and the servants of Abraham dug wells of water, and Abraham and all belonging to him dwelt by the water, and the servants of Abimelech king of the Philistines heard the report that Abraham's servants had dug wells of water in the borders of the land.
5 And they came and quarreled with the servants of Abraham, and they robbed them of the great well which they had dug.
Genesis 21:22 And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God is with you in all that you doest:
21:23 Now therefore swear unto me here by God that you wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto you, you shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein you hast sojourned.
21:24 And Abraham said, I will swear.
Swear comes from H7650, shaba.
A primitive root; properly to be complete, but used only as a denominative from H7651 seven (as the sacred full one); also (adverbially) seven times; to seven oneself, that is, swear (as if by repeating a declaration seven times): - adjure, charge (by an oath, with an oath), feed to the full [by mistake for H7646 fill to satisfaction], take an oath, X straitly, (cause to, make to) swear.
21:25 And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech's servants had violently taken away.
21:26 And Abimelech said, I wot not who hath done this thing: neither didst you tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but to day.
21:27 And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and both of them made a covenant.
21:28 And Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.
21:29 And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What mean these seven ewe lambs which you hast set by themselves?
21:30 And he said, For these seven ewe lambs shalt you take of my hand, that they may be a witness unto me, that I have digged this well.
21:31 Wherefore he called that place Beersheba; because there they sware (H7650) both of them.
Yahweh tests Abraham
Genesis 22:15 And the angel (messenger) of Yahweh called unto Abraham out of heaven (the sky) the second time,
22:16 And said, By Myself have I sworn (H7650- will satisfy), saith Yahweh, for because you hast done this thing, and hast not withheld your son, your only (beloved) son:
22:17 That in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heaven (sky), and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and your seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
The Jews are not numbered as the stars or the sand.
Possess should read occupy, meaning by driving out the occupants.
Enemies should be hated foe, the word comes from HATRED, between opposing tribes or peoples. Gen 3:15, the enmity of God's children vs. the Devil's children. Two seedlines.
Hebrews 6:13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no greater, He sware by Himself,
14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.
11:12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
22:18 And in your seed shall all the (Adamic) nations of the earth (land) be blessed; because you hast obeyed My voice.
Yahweh swore unto Himself regarding Abraham's seed. This promise will never be broken. Part of the definition of swear is, 'to seven oneself', to be complete, seven (as the sacred full one).
Genesis 24:2 And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray you, your hand under my thigh:
24:3 And I will make you swear (H7650) by Yahweh, the God of heaven (the sky), and the God of the earth (land), that you shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:
24:4 But you shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac.
Yahweh demands racial purity and segregation. No race mixing.
We are seeing, so far, that swearing is serious business. Evidently it is an oath that is repeated seven times, which is a number of completion, and is binding, especially when Yahweh is included. Seven is also a holy number. Holy means 'set apart', dedicated.
24:5 And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land: must I needs bring your son again unto the land from whence you camest?
24:6 And Abraham said unto him, Beware you that you bring not my son there again.
24:7 Yahweh God of heaven (the sky), which took me from my father's house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sware (H7650) unto me, saying, Unto your seed will I give this land; He shall send His angel (messenger) before you, and you shalt take a wife unto my son from thence.
24:8 And if the woman will not be willing to follow you, then you shalt be clear from this my oath: only bring not my son thither again.
24:9 And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware (H7650) to him concerning that matter.
Abraham's servant knew what was at stake (the purity of race for Isaac), if he could not find a satisfactory woman, the servant was to be released from the oath.
24:37 And my master made me swear (H7650), saying, Thou shalt not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell:
24:38 But you shalt go unto my father's house, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son.
24:39 And I said unto my master, Peradventure the woman will not follow me.
24:40 And he said unto me, Yahweh, before whom I walk, will send His angel (messenger) with you, and prosper your way; and you shalt take a wife for my son of my kindred, and of my father's house:
24:41 Then shalt you be clear from this my oath (H423), when you comest to my kindred; and if they give not you one, you shalt be clear from my oath (H423).
H423 alah, is an oath, oath of covenant; a curse- from God, from men, execration
Execration is the act of cursing, a curse pronounced, an imprecation of evil, harm.
Jacob and Esau
Jasher 27:1-11
1 And Esau at that time, after the death of Abraham, frequently went in the field to hunt.
2 And Nimrod king of Babel, the same was Amraphel, also frequently went with his mighty men to hunt in the field, and to walk about with his men in the cool of the day.
3 And Nimrod was observing Esau all the days, for a jealousy was formed in the heart of Nimrod against Esau all the days.
4 And on a certain day Esau went in the field to hunt, and he found Nimrod walking in the wilderness with his two men.
5 And all his mighty men and his people were with him in the wilderness, but they removed at a distance from him, and they went from him in different directions to hunt, and Esau concealed himself for Nimrod, and he lurked for him in the wilderness.
6 And Nimrod and his men that were with him did not know him, and Nimrod and his men frequently walked about in the field at the cool of the day, and to know where his men were hunting in the field.
7 And Nimrod and two of his men that were with him came to the place where they were, when Esau started suddenly from his lurking place, and drew his sword, and hastened and ran to Nimrod and cut off his head.
8 And Esau fought a desperate fight with the two men that were with Nimrod, and when they called out to him, Esau turned to them and smote them to death with his sword.
9 And all the mighty men of Nimrod, who had left him to go to the wilderness, heard the cry at a distance, and they knew the voices of those two men, and they ran to know the cause of it, when they found their king and the two men that were with him lying dead in the wilderness.
10 And when Esau saw the mighty men of Nimrod coming at a distance, he fled, and thereby escaped; and Esau took the valuable garments of Nimrod, which Nimrod's father had bequeathed to Nimrod, and with which Nimrod prevailed over the whole land, and he ran and concealed them in his house.
The garments were the loincloths that Yahweh made for Adam.
11 And Esau took those garments and ran into the city on account of Nimrod's men, and he came unto his father's house wearied and exhausted from fight, and he was ready to die through grief when he approached his brother Jacob and sat before him.
25:29 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:
25:30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray you, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.
Father of the Edomite Jews. These Edomites were later on the Pharisees that murdered Christ.
25:31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day your birthright.
25:32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?
Esau thought he was a dead man anyway, being pursued by Nimrod's men..
25:33 And Jacob said, Swear (H7650) to me this day; and he sware (H7650) unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
Jasher 27:12-17
12And Jacob acted wisely with Esau in this matter, and Esau sold his birthright to Jacob, for it was so brought about by Yahweh.
13 And Esau's portion in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham had bought from the children of Heth for the possession of a burial ground, Esau also sold to Jacob, and Jacob bought all this from his brother Esau for value given.
14 And Jacob wrote the whole of this in a book, and he testified the same with witnesses, and he sealed it, and the book remained in the hands of Jacob.
15 And when Nimrod the son of Cush died, his men lifted him up and brought him in consternation, and buried him in his city, and all the days that Nimrod lived were two hundred and fifteen years and he died.
16 And the days that Nimrod reigned upon the people of the land were one hundred and eighty-five years; and Nimrod died by the sword of Esau in shame and contempt, and the seed of Abraham caused his death as he had seen in his dream.
17 And at the death of Nimrod his kingdom became divided into many divisions, and all those parts that Nimrod reigned over were restored to the respective kings of the land, who recovered them after the death of Nimrod, and all the people of the house of Nimrod were for a long time enslaved to all the other kings of the land.
25:34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.
The “churches” teach that Jacob tricked Esau. Another lie from the pulpit.
The soup was just a ceremonial act. Esau sold his birthright and despised his own race by taking daughters of the Canaanites. These would be the race mixed daughters of Heth. Hittites. This alone disqualifies Esau from the birthright.
Yahweh tells Isaac not to go to Egypt
Genesis 26:3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you, and will bless you; for unto you, and unto your seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath (H7621-something sworn) which I sware (H7650) unto Abraham your father;
26:4 And I will make your seed to multiply as the stars of heaven (the sky), and will give unto your seed all these countries; and in your seed shall all the nations of the earth (land) be blessed;
26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed My voice, and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.
26:28 And they (Abimelech II and his men) said, We saw certainly that Yahweh was with you: and we said, Let there be now an oath (H423) betwixt us, even betwixt us and you, and let us make a covenant with you;
26:29 That you wilt do us no hurt, as we have not touched you, and as we have done unto you nothing but good, and have sent you away in peace: you art now the blessed of Yahweh.
26:30 And he made them a feast, and they did eat and drink.
It is not true that they did not do nothing but good. They took the other wells from Isaac earlier in the chapter.
26:31 And they rose up betimes in the morning, and sware (H7650) one to another: and Isaac sent them away, and they departed from him in peace.
Evidently, Yahweh led Isaac where they eventually were not bothered by Abimelech II.
Bethel means House of El. El is short for Elohiym. God. Yahweh.
Genesis 28:20 And Jacob vowed (H5087) a vow (H5088), saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,
28:21 So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall Yahweh be my God:
28:22 And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that You shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto You.
This stone (pillar) is the very stone that was carried by the Israelites wherever they dwelt. The Stone of Destiny. It was later carried to Ireland, then Scotland and ultimately Britain. This stone was in the presence of the kings of Israel and rests under the coronation chair of the British throne. All the kings of Israel were anointed over this stone. Queen Elizabeth II is a descendant of David. QEII is not a Jew, she is a white woman.
Vowed comes from the verb H5087 nadar- to vow, to promise. Vow comes from the noun H5088 neder- the thing vowed, promised, votive offering.
Genesis 31:13 I am the God of Bethel, where you anointedst the pillar, and where you vowedst (H5087-promised) a vow (H5088-promise) unto Me: now arise, get you out from this land, and return unto the land of your kindred.
Laban was taking advantage of Jacob.
Yahweh was performing His part of the vow at Bethel to bless Jacob.
Laban went after Jacob but they settled their differences.
31:26 And Laban said to Jacob, What hast you done, that you hast stolen away unawares to me, and carried away my daughters, as captives taken with the sword?
31:27 Wherefore didst you flee away secretly, and steal away from me; and didst not tell me, that I might have sent you away with mirth, and with songs, with tabret, and with harp?
31:28 And hast not suffered me to kiss my sons and my daughters? you hast now done foolishly in so doing.
31:29 It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take you heed that you speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
31:30 And now, though you wouldest needs be gone, because you sore longedst after your father's house, yet wherefore hast you stolen my gods (idols)?
31:31 And Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was afraid: for I said, Peradventure you wouldest take by force your daughters from me.
31:32 With whomsoever you findest your gods, let him not live: before our brethren discern you what is yours with me, and take it to you. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.
Jacob cursed the one that took the idols, not knowing that it was his wife Rachel. This had great consequences, as Rachel will not live a long life because of this. Words have great power. This is outlined in 35:16-20
Genesis 31:51 And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have cast betwixt me and you;
31:52 This heap be witness, and this pillar be witness, that I will not pass over this heap to you, and that you shalt not pass over this heap and this pillar unto me, for harm.
31:53 The God of Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge betwixt us. And Jacob sware (H7650) by the fear (reverence) of his father Isaac.
31:54 Then Jacob offered sacrifice upon the mount, and called his brethren to eat bread: and they did eat bread, and tarried all night in the mount.
31:55 And early in the morning Laban rose up, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them: and Laban departed, and returned unto his place.
Genesis 47:31 And he (Jacob) said (to Joseph), Swear (H7650) unto me. And he sware (H7650) unto him. And Israel (Jacob) bowed himself upon the bed's head.
Joseph promised to bury Jacob with his fathers in the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, in Canaan, which Abraham bought from Ephron the Hittite.
Genesis 50:4 And when the days of his mourning were past, Joseph spake unto the house of Pharaoh, saying, If now I have found grace (favor) in your eyes, speak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh, saying,
50:5 My father made me swear (H7650), saying, Lo, I die: in my grave which I have digged for me in the land of Canaan, there shalt you bury me. Now therefore let me go up, I pray you, and bury my father, and I will come again.
50:6 And Pharaoh said, Go up, and bury your father, according as he made you swear (H7650).
50:24 And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which He sware (H7650) to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
This is a prophecy. Yahweh fulfills His promises.
50:25 And Joseph took an oath (H7650) of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence.
50:26 So Joseph died, being an hundred and ten years old: and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt.
His body will later be taken out of Egypt by Israel. This is told in Exodus 13:19 (removal), and Joshua 24:32 (burial). The oath of the children of Israel to carry his bones out was fulfilled.
In Genesis (regarding oaths, promises, swearing and vows) we saw:
-Abraham and Abimelech come to agreements and honor their oaths.
-Yahweh swears by Himself to bless Abraham and his seed. Isaac was dedicated to Yahweh, and Yahweh became dedicated to Isaac's seed. Hence, the Anointed children of Israel.
-Abraham's servant swears to find a pure descendant of Adam for Isaac.
-Esau swears his birthright to Jacob, which included the burial cave of Machpelah. In writing and with witnesses.
-Before returning to his fathers land, Jacob vows to Yahweh that He will be his God if He will be with him and protect his family. Jacob knew he would see Esau, who hated him. Jacob also vowed to give back to Yahweh a 10th of all he receives from Yahweh. The promise of tithing.
-Yahweh performs His promise by leading Jacob and his family from Laban's land back to Isaac's. Jacob and Laban vow to peace and to be faithful to his daughters.
-Joseph swears to bury Jacob with his fathers in Machpelah.
-Joseph has the children of Israel promise to bring his bones out of Egypt with them. He also prophesied that 'Yahweh will visit them, and bring them out'.
Yahweh promises to deliver Israel out of Egypt
Exodus 6:8 And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear (H5375) to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an heritage: I am Yahweh.
Interesting, the definitions of H5375 nasa' nasah.
A primitive root; to lift, in a great variety of applications, literally and figuratively, absolutely and relatively: - accept, advance, arise, (able to, [armour], suffer to) bear (-er, up), bring (forth), burn, carry (away), cast, contain, desire, ease, exact, exalt (self), extol, fetch, forgive, furnish, further, give, go on, help, high, hold up, honourable (+ man), lade, lay, lift (self) up, lofty, marry, magnify, X needs, obtain, pardon, raise (up), receive, regard, respect, set (up), spare, stir up, + swear, take (away, up), X utterly, wear, yield.
These all describe the life, times, and duty of the children of Israel.
The Septuagint reads: “And I will bring you into the land concerning which I stretched out My hand to give it to Abraam and Isaac and Jacob, and I will give it you for an inheritance: I am Yahweh.
Exodus 12:25 And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which Yahweh will give you, according as He hath promised (H1696- spoken, declared), that ye shall keep this service.
These feasts and services were to take place when they came to the Promise Land. The Exodus was the training grounds. The passover and feast of unleavened bread were to be passed on to all the offspring of Israel forever. We are also to observe the weekly sabbath and fast once a year.
Yahweh made promises to us, we must keep our end of the deal by obedience.
Exodus 13:4 This day came you out in the month Abib (March).
13:5 And it shall be when Yahweh shall bring you into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which He sware (H7650) unto your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, that you shalt keep this service in this month.
These feasts were to take effect when they enter the Promised Land.
13:6 Seven days you shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to Yahweh.
These feasts are still in effect. It is part of our Israelite heritage.
Exodus 13:11 And it shall be when Yahweh shall bring you into the land of the Canaanites, as He sware (H7650) unto you and to your fathers, and shall give it you,
13:12 That you shalt set apart (be holy) unto Yahweh all that openeth the matrix, and every firstling that cometh of a beast which you hast; the males shall be Yahweh's. (Lev 27:26)
Exodus 13:19 And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn (H7650) the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.
Genesis 50:25 And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence.
The oath fulfilled.
Exodus 17:16 For he said, Because Yahweh hath sworn (H3027-charged) that Yahweh will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.
Septuagint: 17:16 For with a secret hand Yahweh wages war upon Amalec to all generations.
H3027 is hand, strength, power, charge, swear.
1Samuel 15:2 Thus saith Yahweh of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.
3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.
4 And Saul gathered the people together, and numbered them in Telaim, two hundred thousand footmen, and ten thousand men of Judah.
5 And Saul came to a city of Amalek, and laid wait in the valley.
6 And Saul said unto the Kenites, Go, depart, get you down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them: for ye shewed kindness to all the children of Israel, when they came up out of Egypt. So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.
7 And Saul smote the Amalekites from Havilah until you comest to Shur, that is over against Egypt.
8 And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.
9 But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.
15:19 Wherefore then didst you not obey the voice of Yahweh, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of Yahweh?
15:32 Then said Samuel, Bring ye hither to me Agag the king of the Amalekites. And Agag came unto him delicately. And Agag said, Surely the bitterness of death is past.
33 And Samuel said, As your sword hath made women childless, so shall your mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before Yahweh in Gilgal.
Amalek was a descendant of Esau. Esau's children (Edomites) were also mixed with the children of Cain and the fallen angels. This war with Amelek goes back to the prophecy or charge of Yahweh in Genesis 3:15.
Exodus 22:11 Then shall an oath (H7621) of Yahweh be between them both, that he hath not put his hand unto his neighbour's goods; and the owner of it shall accept thereof, and he shall not make it good.
Oath here is H7621 shebuah.
Feminine passive participle of H7650; properly something sworn, that is, an oath: - curse, oath, X sworn.
The Septuagint is more clear: 22:10 And if any one give to his neighbour to keep a calf or sheep or any beast, and it be wounded or die or be taken, and no one know,
11 an oath of God shall be between both, each swearing that he has surely not at all been guilty in the matter of his neighbour's deposit; and so his master shall hold him guiltless, and he shall not make compensation.
12 And if it be stolen from him, he shall make compensation to the owner.
The definition of 'curse' applies because Yahweh laid out the blessings of following the law, and curses for not following the law.
Exodus 33:1 And Yahweh said unto Moses, Depart, and go up hence, you and the people which you hast brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I sware (H7650) unto Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, Unto your seed will I give it:
33:2 And I will send an angel (messenger) before you; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite:
33:3 Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of you; for you art a stiffnecked people: lest I consume you in the way.
33:4 And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned: and no man did put on him his ornaments.
33:5 For Yahweh had said unto Moses, Say unto the children of Israel, Ye are a stiffnecked people: I will come up into the midst of you in a moment, and consume you: therefore now put off your ornaments from you, that I may know what to do unto you.
Stiffnecked. Pagan habits are hard to break.
33:6 And the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments by the mount Horeb.
Yahweh will not go back on His word (promise) to Abraham. The people that will listen will be blessed, those that won't will be destroyed.
Exodus shows that:
-Yahweh promises the children of Israel deliverance from Egypt.
-Yahweh promises to bring them into the land, and when they do, He expects them to keep the feasts and sabbaths.
-The oath of the children of Israel to carry out Joseph's bones is fulfilled.
-The oath, charge, prophecy of war with Amelek (Esau) for generations. Gen 3:15
-Oath used as a curse. The blessings of obedience and curses of disobedience.
-Yahweh upholds His oath to the seed of Abraham. Through their disobedience they would be destroyed by the law. Yahweh's mercy demonstrates His keeping His word.
Leviticus 5:1 And if a soul sin, and hear the voice (proclamation) of swearing (H423- imprecation), and is a witness, whether he hath seen or known of it; if he do not utter it (refuses to testify or report it), then he shall bear his iniquity.
IMPRECA'TION, n. The act of imprecating, or invoking evil on any one; a prayer that a curse or calamity may fall on any one.
A witness to a crime that covers it up is also guilty.
5:4 Or if a soul swear (H7650), pronouncing with his lips to do evil, or to do good, whatsoever it be that a man shall pronounce with an oath (H7621-something sworn), and it be hid from him (unknown to him); when he knoweth of it (realizes it), then he shall be guilty in one of these.
5:5 And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing:
The Jews, who are NOT Israel, have an oath they swear by every year. The Kol Nidre.
From the Jewish Encyclopedia.
"All vows, obligations, oaths, and anathemas, whether called 'ḳonam,' 'ḳonas,' or by any other name, which we may vow, or swear, or pledge, or whereby we may be bound, from this Day of Atonement until the next (whose happy coming we await), we do repent. May they be deemed absolved, forgiven, annulled, and void, and made of no effect; they shall not bind us nor have power over us. The vows shall not be reckoned vows; the obligations shall not be obligatory; nor the oaths be oaths."
The Jews, who are descendants of Cain and Esau, swear every year to not uphold their oath. In other words, any oath or promise they make will not be honored. More plainly, they give themselves permission to lie. Only the Devil's children think and operate like this.
Leviticus 6:2 If a soul sin, and commit a trespass against Yahweh, and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep, or in fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or hath deceived his neighbour;
6:3 Or have found that which was lost, and lieth concerning it, and sweareth (H7650) falsely; in any of all these that a man doeth, sinning therein:
6:4 Then it shall be, because he hath sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which he hath deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found,
6:5 Or all that about which he hath sworn (H7650) falsely; he shall even restore it in the principal, and shall add the fifth part more thereto, and give it unto him to whom it appertaineth, in the day of his trespass offering.
Swearing falsely over stolen goods is sin, and they must be restored, plus 1/5th.
Leviticus 7:15 And the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings for thanksgiving shall be eaten the same day that it is offered; he shall not leave any of it until the morning.
7:16 But if the sacrifice of his offering be a vow (H5088- a promise), or a voluntary offering, it shall be eaten the same day that he offereth his sacrifice: and on the morrow also the remainder of it shall be eaten:
Evidently the differences of offerings determines the rule of leftovers.
It would make sense that the sin offering not remain until the morning.
The offering of a vow, or a voluntary offering is not for sin, so if there is leftovers, it's ok to eat.
7:17 But the remainder of the flesh of the sacrifice on the third day shall be burnt with fire.
Leviticus 19:12 And ye shall not swear (H7650- adjure) by My name falsely, neither shalt you profane the name of your God: I am Yahweh.
H7650 - adjure, charge (by an oath, with an oath)
ADJU'RE, v.t. [L. adjuro, to sweat solemnly, or compel one to swear; from ad and juro, to swear.]
To charge, bind or command on oath, or under the penalty of a curse.
SOL'EMNLY, adv. With gravity and religious reverence.
2. With official formalities and be due authority.
The Septuagint reads: 'And ye shall not swear unjustly by My name...'.
We have zero power to fulfill any oaths or promises. We have no right to adjure, or compel Yahweh to perform an oath due to our authority.
Leviticus 22:18 Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, Whatsoever he be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers (of kin) in Israel, that will offer his oblation (offering) for all his vows (H5088- promises to God), and for all his freewill offerings, which they will offer unto Yahweh for a burnt offering;
22:19 you shall offer at your own will a male without blemish, of the beeves, of the sheep, or of the goats.
22:20 But whatsoever hath a blemish, that shall you not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you.
22:21 And whosoever offereth a sacrifice of peace offerings unto Yahweh to accomplish his vow (H5088- promise to God), or a freewill offering in beeves or sheep, it shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein.
22:22 Blind, or broken, or maimed, or having a wen, or scurvy, or scabbed, you shall not offer these unto Yahweh, nor make an offering by fire of them upon the altar unto Yahweh.
The sacrifice must be healthy, perfect, as was Christ.
22:23 Either a bullock or a lamb that hath any thing superfluous (deformed, extra member) or lacking in his parts, that mayest you offer for a freewill offering; but for a vow (H5088- a promise to God) it shall not be accepted.
This makes sense, that only a freewill offering (meaning not for sin) is ok even if it is deformed.
The Septuagint reads a little different: 23 And a calf or a sheep with the ears cut off, or that has lost its tail, you shalt slay them for thyself; but they shall not be accepted for your vow (a promise to God).
Leviticus 23:34 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto Yahweh.
Exodus 23:16 And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of your labours, which you hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when you hast gathered in your labours out of the field. Symbolic of the 2nd advent.
Deuteronomy 16:13 Thou shalt observe the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that you hast gathered in your corn and your wine:
Feast of Tabernacles. Guess who tabernacles with us if we have repented?
23:35 On the first day shall be an holy convocation: you shall do no servile work therein.
23:36 Seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahweh: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and you shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahweh: it is a solemn assembly; and you shall do no servile work therein.
Nehemiah 8:18 Also day by day, from the first day unto the last day, he read in the book of the law of God. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day was a solemn assembly, according unto the manner.
23:37 These are the (appointed) feasts of Yahweh, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto Yahweh, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:
23:38 Beside the sabbaths of Yahweh, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows (H5088- promises to God), and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto Yahweh.
Doing these things are part of the oath we swore unto Yahweh at Sinai. Yahweh keeps His end of the deal, we must keep ours.
Leviticus 27:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When a man shall make a singular vow (H5088- a promise to God), the persons shall be for Yahweh by your estimation.
Verses 2-33 concerns a dedication of men, women, beasts, land, etc., to Yahweh. The priest would estimate the value in temple shekels of what was dedicated. This was the price for redeeming the thing dedicated.
27:8 But if he be poorer than your estimation, then he shall present himself before the priest, and the priest shall value him; according to his ability that vowed (H5087- to give to God) shall the priest value him.
This vow is a verb. A promise to do/give something to God.
In Leviticus we see oaths and vows demonstrated as:
-A curse if a witness does not report evil imprecations (oaths).
-The Jews have a special yearly oath that they vow to allow themselves to lie and not keep.
-Swearing falsely about stealing is lying and a sin. Repayment +1/5 is due.
-Vows are promises. Voluntary offerings are accepted
-Swearing by Yahweh's name compelling Him to fulfill a promise we authorize is wrong. We cannot guarantee anything of our own power.
-In addition to promises, vows and free offerings, we must keep the feasts.
-Even the poor vow to give, but sometimes can't.
Verses 5:12-28 deal with a woman that lies carnally with a man, and it be hid from her husband, the curse of disobedience will attest her innocency...
Numbers 5:16 And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before Yahweh:
5:17 And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and of the dust that is in the floor of the tabernacle the priest shall take, and put it into the water:
5:18 And the priest shall set the woman before Yahweh, and uncover the woman's head, and put the offering of memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causeth the curse:
Bitter water refers to the bitterness of the punishment for infidelity, and curse refers to the infliction of a curse on the unfaithful.
5:19 And the priest shall charge her by an oath (H7650), and say unto the woman, If no man have lain with you, and if you hast not gone aside to uncleanness with another instead of your husband, be you free from this bitter water that causeth the curse (execrate):
5:20 But if you hast gone aside to another instead of your husband, and if you be defiled, and some man have lain with you beside your husband:
5:21 Then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath (H7621- attesting of innocence) of cursing (H423- a curse from God), and the priest shall say unto the woman, Yahweh make you a curse (H423- imprecation) and an oath (H7621- attesting of innocence) among your people, when Yahweh doth make your thigh to rot, and your belly to swell;
Yahweh would cause an internal disorder, and her abdomen would swell from disease or gas.
5:22 And this water that causeth the curse shall go into your bowels, to make your belly to swell, and your thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amen, amen.
5:27 And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people.
If the woman was guilty, her punishment was infertility, as her uterus had dropped and she could no longer conceive. If she was innocent, she could conceive, as shown in the next verse.
5:28 And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed.
Numbers 6:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate (H6381- distinguish) themselves to vow (H5087- to promise) a vow (H5088- a promise) of a Nazarite, to separate (H5144- devote to a sacred purpose) themselves unto Yahweh:
6:3 He shall separate (devote) himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried.
Luke 1:15 For he (John) shall be great in the sight of the Prince, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb.
6:4 All the days of his separation (consecration) shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk.
6:5 All the days of the vow (H5088- the promise) of his separation (consecration) there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth (devoted) himself unto Yahweh, he shall be holy (set apart), and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.
6:21 This is the law of the Nazarite who hath vowed (H5087- promised), and of his offering unto Yahweh for his separation (dedication), beside that that his hand shall get: according to the vow (H5088- promise) which he vowed (H5087- promised), so he must do after the law of his separation (dedication).
Yahweh was speaking His anger to Moses about the disobedience and idolatry of the children of Israel, that He wanted to destroy them and start over with Moses. Moses interceded for us.
Numbers 14:15 Now if You shalt kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of You will speak, saying,
14:16 Because Yahweh was not able to bring this (His) people into the land which He sware (H7650) unto them, therefore He hath slain them in the wilderness.
14:17 And now, I beseech you, let the power of my Master Yahweh be great, according as You hast spoken, saying,
14:18 Yahweh is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation. (Ex 34:6-7)
It takes up to four generations to purge out old pagan habits and conform to Yahweh's Way.
Yahweh truly is merciful and true to His word.
Malachi 3:6 For I am Yahweh, I change not (I don't break My oath-to Abraham); therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
But those that will not conform will be destroyed.
14:23 Surely they shall not see the land which I sware (H7650) unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked Me see it:
Only Caleb and Joshua, of the original group that left Egypt, saw the land. All the first census were slain by Yahweh in the wilderness because they would not perform their part of the oath.
14:30 Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware (H7650) to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
14:31 But your little ones, which you said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which you have despised.
They did not trust Yahweh and thought they would all be better off back in Egypt.
14:32 But as for you, your carcases, they shall fall in this wilderness.
14:33 And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness.
14:34 After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know My breach of promise (H8569- opposition, alienation, enmity).
Septuagint ends as: “...and ye shall know My fierce anger.”
Scriptures 2009 as: “...and You shall know My breaking off.”
They just may have been allowed to enter at this time, but because they were so disobedient and unbelieving of Yahweh's promises, they were purged in the wilderness. The pagan life from Egypt was like their second nature. Just like today's “churches” and their Judeo-Christianity, worshiping a Jewish Jesus, a Greek Goddess (Easter), Christmas (which has nothing to do with Christ who was born in late September), and Devil's Eve (Halloween). False religion so engrained they cannot see what scripture really says, and it's not what an indoctrinated preacher repeats to you every Sunday.
After sending scouts into the land, all but Joshua and Caleb, gave a bad report. It caused the people to murmur against Moses and to slander the land. The people mourned after many died of a plague and decided that now they would go into the land.
Numbers 14:40 And they rose up early in the morning, and gat them up into the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we be here, and will go up unto the place which Yahweh hath promised (H559- spoken): for we have sinned.
Too little too late, Yahweh had other plans. Moses told them that Yahweh was not with them and they would fall by the sword. But they went anyway and were smote.
Numbers 15:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When you be come into the land of your habitations, which I give unto you,
15:3 And will make an offering by fire unto Yahweh, a burnt offering, or a sacrifice in performing a vow (H5088- a promise), or in a freewill offering, or in your solemn feasts, to make a sweet savour unto Yahweh, of the herd, or of the flock:
15:8 And when you preparest a bullock for a burnt offering, or for a sacrifice in performing a vow (H5088- a promise), or peace offerings unto Yahweh:
15:16 One law and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger (of kin) that sojourneth with you.
The offerings of Israel and the sojourning kinsman of Israel were to offer in the same manner.
Jasher 85:1 And king Arad the Canaanite, who dwelt in the south, heard that the Israelites had come by the way of the spies, and he arranged his forces to fight against the Israelites.
Numbers 21:2 And Israel vowed (H5087- promised) a vow (H5088- a promise) unto Yahweh, and said, If You wilt indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities.
21:3 And Yahweh hearkened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities: and he called the name of the place Hormah.
Hormah means devoted to destruction.
The feasts of trumpets and tabernacles
Numbers 29:39 These things ye shall do unto Yahweh in your set feasts, beside your vows (H5088- promises), and your freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your meat (grain) offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings.
We (true Israelites) are to continue to observe certain feasts and sabbaths. They are memorials and dedications of our heritage. America observes July 4th, and other national holidays, it meant something to our original white heritage and country. Now it is defiled with multiculturalism. We broke our vow to Yahweh to remain separate.
Laws about vows (promises, oaths).
Verse 2 is a serious charge. We will see later in Judges and other places, where Yahweh holds us to our word, especially when we include Him.
Numbers 30:2 If a man vow (H5087- promise) a vow (H5088- a promise) unto Yahweh, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.
30:3 If a woman also vow (H5087- promise) a vow (H5088- a promise) unto Yahweh, and bind herself by a bond, being in her father's house in her youth;
30:4 And her father hear her vow (H5088- promise), and her bond wherewith she hath bound her soul, and her father shall hold his peace at her: then all her vows (H5088- promises) shall stand, and every bond wherewith she hath bound her soul shall stand.
30:5 But if her father disallow her in the day that he heareth; not any of her vows (H5088- promises), or of her bonds wherewith she hath bound her soul, shall stand: and Yahweh shall forgive her, because her father disallowed her.
30:6 And if she had at all an husband, when she vowed (H5088- promised), or uttered ought out of her lips, wherewith she bound her soul;
30:7 And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her in the day that he heard it: then her vows (H5088- promises) shall stand, and her bonds wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.
30:8 But if her husband disallowed her on the day that he heard it; then he shall make her vow (H5088- promise) which she vowed (H5921- binds with obligation), and that which she uttered with her lips, wherewith she bound her soul, of none effect: and Yahweh shall forgive her.
The Septuagint has: '...then thus shall all her vows be binding, and her obligations, which she has contracted upon her soul shall stand.
30:9 But every vow (H5088- promise) of a widow, and of her that is divorced, wherewith they have bound their souls, shall stand against her.
30:10 And if she vowed (H5087- promised) in her husband's house, or bound her soul by a bond (obligation or vow) with an oath (H7621- something sworn);
30:11 And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her, and disallowed her not: then all her vows (H5088- promises) shall stand, and every bond (obligation or vow) wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.
30:12 But if her husband hath utterly made them void on the day he heard them; then whatsoever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows (H5088- promises), or concerning the bond (obligation) of her soul, shall not stand: her husband hath made them void; and Yahweh shall forgive her.
30:13 Every vow (H5088- promise), and every binding oath (H7621- something sworn) to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void.
30:14 But if her husband altogether hold his peace at her from day to day; then he establisheth all her vows (H5088- promises), or all her bonds (obligations), which are upon her: he confirmeth them, because he held his peace at her in the day that he heard them.
It is very important not to promise what we can't keep. Our word binds us to the obligation of the vow. Yahweh says we shall do all according to our oath, and not break it.
Numbers 32:10 And Yahweh's anger was kindled the same time, and He sware (H7650), saying,
32:11 Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I sware (H7650) unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; because they have not wholly followed Me:
32:12 Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, and Joshua the son of Nun: for they have wholly followed Yahweh.
32:13 And Yahweh's anger was kindled against Israel, and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight of Yahweh, was consumed.
The blessings of obedience were rewarded to Caleb and Joshua, and the younger generations that were born in the desert.
The curses of disobedience were rewarded to the pagan generation that came out of Egypt.
In Numbers we saw oaths and vows demonstrated as:
-An attesting of innocence, an oath can bring a curse that reveals disobedience.
-Nazarites dedicated and devoted themselves to a sacred purpose with an oath.
-Yahweh demonstrates His love and mercy to a disobedient people because of His promises.
-When our vows support Yahweh's will, He delivers us.
-Vows to Yahweh are great, but He still wants us to keep the feasts.
-Vows bind our souls (lives) to the obligation vowed. Yahweh holds us to our word.
The Israelites were camped just east of the Jordan River making preparations for crossing into Canaan.
Deuteronomy 1:8 Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which Yahweh sware (H7650) unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them.
1:11 (Yahweh God of your fathers make you a thousand times so many more as ye are, and bless you, as He hath promised (H1696- spoken, declared unto) you!)
This cannot be the Jews. The Jews are of Cain and Esau. The Jews are less than 17 million.
Jacob's children are the white race, and we are quite the multitude. 1 BILLION.
Deuteronomy 1:34 And Yahweh heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware (H7650), saying,
1:35 Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I sware (H7650) to give unto your fathers,
Numbers 14:22 Because all those men which have seen My glory, and My miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted Me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to My voice;
Psalm 95:11 Unto whom I sware (H7650) in My wrath that they should not enter into My rest.
When we swear to follow Yahweh and don't, we receive the curses of that oath instead of the blessings of upholding the oath with obedience. Yahweh keeps His word to both the curses and blessings of our oaths.
Deuteronomy 2:14 And the space in which we came from Kadeshbarnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, was thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as Yahweh sware (H7650) unto them.
The oath of fulfilling the curses of 1:35.
Deuteronomy 4:21 Furthermore Yahweh was angry with me (Moses) for your sakes, and sware (H7650) that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that good land, which Yahweh your God giveth you for an inheritance:
4:22 But I must die in this land, I must not go over Jordan: but you shall go over, and possess that good land.
4:31 (For Yahweh your God is a merciful God;) He will not forsake you, neither destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He sware (H7650) unto them.
If Yahweh did not ever make the covenant with Abraham, we wouldn't be here. He would have had every right to destroy us. But He chose us. Yahweh keeps His promises.
Deuteronomy 6:1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which Yahweh your God commanded to teach you, that you might do them in the land whither you go to possess it:
6:2 That you mightest fear Yahweh your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments, which I command you, you, and your son, and your son's son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged.
6:3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with you, and that ye may increase mightily, as Yahweh God of your fathers hath promised (H1696- arranged for) you, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.
6:10 And it shall be, when Yahweh your God shall have brought you into the land which He sware (H7650) unto your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you great and goodly cities, which you buildedst not,
6:11 And houses full of all good things, which you filledst not, and wells digged, which you diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which you plantedst not; when you shalt have eaten and be full;
6:12 Then beware lest you forget Yahweh, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
6:13 You shalt fear (revere) Yahweh your God, and serve Him, and shalt swear (H7650) by His name.
This is not saying that we should go around 'swearing to God'. We can guarantee nothing.
The context is revering Yahweh and serving Him. Our service is our duty as Israelites. To keep and uphold the law and The Way. To love our brethren (race) and our God. Let's review H7650.
A primitive root; properly to be complete, but used only as a denominative from H7651 seven (as the sacred full one); to seven oneself, that is, swear (as if by repeating a declaration seven times): - adjure, charge (by an oath, with an oath).
We must fill to satisfaction our duty, our test.
Deuteronomy 6:18 And you shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of Yahweh: that it may be well with you, and that you mayest go in and possess the good land which Yahweh sware (H7650) unto your fathers,
6:23 And He brought us out from thence, that He might bring us in, to give us the land which He sware (H7650) unto our fathers.
6:24 And Yahweh commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear (revere) Yahweh our God, for our good always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.
We agreed to do all His statutes. There are curses and blessings attached to this oath. Following Him will always preserve us in this life. This is what being “saved” means. It's not “once saved, always saved”, it's preservation by obedience, it's an ongoing thing. We are not “saved” yet.
Deuteronomy 7:8 But because Yahweh loved you, and because He would keep the oath (H7621- something sworn) which He had sworn (H7650) unto your fathers, hath Yahweh brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
7:12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that Yahweh your God shall keep unto you the covenant and the mercy which He sware (H7650) unto your fathers:
7:13 And He will love you, and bless you, and multiply you: He will also bless the fruit of your womb, and the fruit of your land, your corn, and your wine, and your oil, the increase of your kine, and the flocks of your sheep, in the land which He sware (H7650) unto your fathers to give you.
All we have to do is keep the obligations of our oath and we will be blessed. Simple, follow His Statutes, Judgments, and Commandments.
The covenant of mercy comes from the promises made to Abraham. By law, and because of the oath we made with Yahweh at Sinai, we deserve death because we constantly break them. Yahweh's promise to Abraham's seed through Isaac and Jacob are shown mercy. We are preserved (saved) by this favor (grace). The favor comes from the oath with Abraham and relies on the oath our ancestors made at Sinai. Blessings and curses are really up to us. We have free will.
Deuteronomy 8:1 All the commandments which I command you this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which Yahweh sware (H7650) unto your fathers.
8:18 But thou shalt remember Yahweh your God: for it is He that giveth you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He sware (H7650) unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
When we receive blessings for our obedience, it establishes the truth of His word.
Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of Yahweh, it maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow with it.
Hosea 2:8 For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal.
The same happens to today's “church” goers. Yahweh gives to them (that have Him in their heart), but they praise a Jewish Jesus for it. A Jewish Jesus is no different than Baal.
Hosea 2:9 Therefore will I return, and take away My corn in the time thereof, and My wine in the season thereof, and will recover My wool and My flax given to cover her nakedness.
8:19 And it shall be, if you do at all forget Yahweh your God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that you shall surely perish.
8:20 As the nations which Yahweh destroyeth before your face, so shall you perish; because you would not be obedient unto the voice of Yahweh your God.
Christ is NOT a Jew. Those who worship a Jewish Jesus are worshiping Baal. The Jews are the Devil's children through Cain and Esau.
Deuteronomy 9:5 Not for your righteousness, or for the uprightness of your heart, dost you go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations Yahweh your God doth drive them out from before you, and that He may perform the word which Yahweh sware (H7650) unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
9:6 Understand therefore, that Yahweh your God giveth you not this good land to possess it for your righteousness; for you are a stiffnecked people.
He did it because of the oath to our fathers. We must continue in the oath.
The account of Moses interceding for us at Sinai.
Deuteronomy 9:26 I prayed therefore unto Yahweh, and said, O Yahweh GOD, destroy not Your people and Your inheritance, which You hast redeemed through Your greatness, which You hast brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
9:27 Remember Your servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; look not unto the stubbornness of this people, nor to their wickedness, nor to their sin:
9:28 Lest the land whence You broughtest us out say, Because Yahweh was not able to bring them into the land which He promised (H1696- appointed) them, and because He hated them, He hath brought them out to slay them in the wilderness.
The other peoples of the land will think that Yahweh did not have the power to save His people so He destroyed them.
Deuteronomy 10:9 Wherefore Levi hath no part nor inheritance with his brethren; Yahweh is his inheritance, according as Yahweh your God promised (H1696- gave, arranged for, ) him.
10:11 And Yahweh said unto me, Arise, take your journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land, which I sware (H7650) unto their fathers to give unto them.
The Levites did not receive land as an inheritance. They were the priesthood, the mediators of the people to Yahweh.
Deuteronomy 10:20 You shalt fear (revere) Yahweh your God; Him shalt you serve, and to Him shalt you cleave (be loyal to), and swear (H7650) by His name.
Swear to declare Him as the way, the truth, and the life.
Deuteronomy 11:9 And that ye may prolong your days in the land, which Yahweh sware (H7650) unto your fathers to give unto them and to their seed, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
11:21 That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which Yahweh sware (H7650) unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.
The theme does not change. The promise to the fathers is perpetual. It only covers the children of Israel and blesses them in obedience and curses them in disobedience.
Sacrifice at one altar only, which eventually was the Temple at Jerusalem.
Deuteronomy 12:6 And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows (H5088- promises), and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks:
12:11 Then there shall be a place which Yahweh your God shall choose to cause His name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows (H5088- promises) which ye vow (H5087- promised) unto Yahweh:
12:13 Take heed to thyself that you offer not your burnt offerings in every place that you seest:
12:14 But in the place which Yahweh shall choose in one of your tribes, there you shalt offer your burnt offerings, and there you shalt do all that I command you.
12:15 Notwithstanding you mayest kill and eat flesh in all your gates, whatsoever your soul lusteth after, according to the blessing of Yahweh your God which He hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the roebuck, and as of the hart.
The food laws were never “done away with”, as the “churches” teach.
Verse 15 states, according to what animals Yahweh established as clean and unclean.
In the next clause of verse 15, the unclean and the clean are references to people. Some examples would include men in the army, menstruating women, the sick, etc.
12:16 Only you shall not eat the blood; you shall pour it upon the earth as water.
12:17 You mayest not eat within your gates the tithe of your corn, or of your wine, or of your oil, or the firstlings of your herds or of your flock, nor any of your vows (H5088- promises) which you vowest (H5087- promised), nor your freewill offerings, or heave offering of your hand:
12:20 When Yahweh your God shall enlarge your border, as He hath promised (H1696- said to) you, and you shalt say, I will eat flesh, because your soul longeth to eat flesh; you mayest eat flesh, whatsoever your soul lusteth after.
12:21 If the place which Yahweh your God hath chosen to put His name there be too far from you, then you shalt kill of your herd and of your flock, which Yahweh hath given you, as I have commanded you, and you shalt eat in your gates whatsoever your soul lusteth after.
12:22 Even as the roebuck and the hart is eaten, so you shalt eat them: the unclean and the clean shall eat of them alike.
This is not saying we can eat unclean food, rather the unclean people, those that are sick from an illness or disease, or unclean from war or handled dead bodies, etc., or the animals themselves that were not ritually cleansed (same as verse 15). Both the clean and unclean people may eat of their offerings.
Deuteronomy 12:26 Only your holy things which you hast, and your vows (H5088- promises), you shalt take, and go unto the place which Yahweh shall choose:
12:27 And you shalt offer your burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood, upon the altar of Yahweh your God: and the blood of your sacrifices shall be poured out upon the altar of Yahweh your God, and you shalt eat the flesh. (Lev 1:5,9,13, 17:11)
Deuteronomy 13:17 And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing (possession of an enemy, a doomed object) to your hand: that Yahweh may turn from the fierceness of His anger, and shew you mercy, and have compassion upon you, and multiply you, as He hath sworn (H7650) unto your fathers;
Mercy comes with the oath promised to our fathers.
Deuteronomy 15:6 For Yahweh your God blesseth you, as He promised (H1696- spoke to) you: and you shalt lend unto many nations, but you shalt not borrow; and you shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you.
This was true of the early days of America, now since we have gone away from Yahweh's laws, the other races and nations take advantage of us and we are in their debt.
Deuteronomy 19:8 And if Yahweh your God enlarge your coast, as He hath sworn (H7650) unto your fathers, and give you all the land which He promised (H1696- declared) to give unto your fathers;
Deuteronomy 23:18 You shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of Yahweh your God for any vow (H5088- promise): for even both these are abomination unto Yahweh your God.
Yahweh does not accept money made by whores. Or stealing or death for that matter.
The phrase price of a dog is a Hebrew idiom for a bisexual male prostitute in pagan temples.
23:21 When you shalt vow (H5087- promise) a vow (H5088- a promise) unto Yahweh your God, you shalt not slack to pay it: for Yahweh your God will surely require it of you; and it would be sin in you.
23:22 But if you shalt forbear to vow (H5087- promise), it shall be no sin in you.
23:23 That which is gone out of your lips you shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as you hast vowed (H5087- promised) unto Yahweh your God, which you hast promised (H1696- spoke) with your mouth.
Firstfruits and tithes
Deuteronomy 26:3 And you shalt go unto the priest that shall be in those days, and say unto him, I profess this day unto Yahweh your God, that I am come unto the country which Yahweh sware (H7650) unto our fathers for to give us.
Deuteronomy 26:18 And Yahweh hath avouched you this day to be His peculiar people, as He hath promised (H1696- spoken to) you, and that you shouldest keep all His commandments;
We are required to remember our heritage, to give praise and keep all His commandments. These are binding obligations of the oath.
Deuteronomy 27:2 And it shall be on the day when you shall pass over Jordan unto the land which Yahweh your God giveth you, that you shalt set you up great stones, and plaister them with plaister:
Plaister is whitewash, a coating of lime.
27:3 And you shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when you art passed over, that you mayest go in unto the land which Yahweh your God giveth you, a land that floweth with milk and honey; as Yahweh God of your fathers hath promised (H1696- has said) you.
Joshua 4:1 And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over Jordan, that Yahweh spake unto Joshua, saying, (have each of the 12 tribes take up a stone...)
8:32 And he wrote there upon the stones a copy of the law of Moses, which he wrote in the presence of the children of Israel.
Chapter 28 is the blessings of obedience and the curses of disobedience.
Deuteronomy 28:9 Yahweh shall establish you an holy (set apart) people unto Himself, as He hath sworn (H7650) unto you, if you shalt keep the commandments of Yahweh your God, and walk in His ways.
28:11 And Yahweh shall make you plenteous in goods, in the fruit of your body, and in the fruit of your cattle, and in the fruit of your ground, in the land which Yahweh sware (H7650) unto your fathers to give you.
A reminder to keep the covenant.
Deuteronomy 29:12 That you shouldest enter into covenant with Yahweh your God, and into His oath (H423- of covenant), which Yahweh your God maketh with you this day:
29:13 That He may establish you to day for a people unto Himself, and that He may be unto you a God, as He hath said unto you, and as He hath sworn (H7650) unto your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
29:14 Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath (H423- of covenant);
29:15 But with him that standeth here with us this day before Yahweh our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day (future Israelites, that's us):
Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Prince our God shall call.
Matthew 15:24 But He answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
The promises and covenants were made with one people, one race. Israelites.
Israelites then and now.
Deuteronomy 30:20 That you mayest love Yahweh your God, and that you mayest obey His voice, and that you mayest cleave unto Him: for He is your life, and the length of your days: that you mayest dwell in the land which Yahweh sware (H7650) unto your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
Deuteronomy 31:7 And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for you must go with this people unto the land which Yahweh hath sworn (H7650) unto their fathers to give them; and you shalt cause them to inherit it.
31:20 For when I shall have brought them into the land which I sware (H7650) unto their fathers, that floweth with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and provoke Me, and break My covenant.
This brings on the curses of the oath.
31:21 And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are befallen them, that this song shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I sware (H7650).
31:23 And He gave Joshua the son of Nun a charge, and said, Be strong and of a good courage: for you shalt bring the children of Israel into the land which I sware (H7650) unto them: and I will be with you.
Deuteronomy 34:4 And Yahweh said unto him, This is the land which I sware (H7650) unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto your seed: I have caused you to see it with your eyes, but you shalt not go over thither.
We have seen in Deuteronomy that:
-Yahweh keeps His word to both the curses and blessings of a vow.
-Yahweh's oath to make Abraham's seed (the white race) great has reached over 1 billion.
The Jews, who are the seed of Cain and of Esau, have yet to reach 17 million.
Do we believe the “churches”, or do we believe scripture?
-Yahweh's mercy displayed again.
-Our oath obligates us to our duty as Christians (Israelites).
-Keeping our oath preserves us in this life.
-Our oath with Yahweh is also a covenant of mercy.
-Yahweh's blessings are proof of His word when we are obedient to the oath.
-The theme is repeated and never changes. The promises are perpetual.
-Vows and offerings are eaten by both the clean (healthy) and unclean (unhealthy) people.
-We are required to perform whatsoever vow comes out of our lips.
-Knowing our heritage and keeping the laws are binding obligations of keeping our oaths.
-The covenant is an oath.
-The curses of the oath come to pass when we break the covenant.
Joshua 1:1 Now after the death of Moses the servant of Yahweh it came to pass, that Yahweh spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,
1:6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt you divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware (H7650) unto their fathers to give them.
1:7 Only be you strong and very courageous, that you mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses My servant commanded you: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that you mayest prosper whithersoever you goest.
1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shalt meditate therein day and night, that you mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shalt make your way prosperous, and then you shalt have good success.
The first chapter of Joshua starts off with a reminder of the obligations and blessings of following the oath, the covenant made with Abraham's seed, that the children of Israel agreed to at Sinai.
Two spies sent
Joshua 2:1 And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there.
A harlot is not always a whore. It often refers to a widow, or an inn keeper (Embassy keeper).
Rahab was of the tribe of Ephraim (Joseph). Of Sherah. She was a widow, who after her husband died, was in charge of an Egyptian Embassy. Far Above Rubies by Isabel Hill Elder has more details.
Hebrews 11:31 By faith the harlot (Embassy keeper) Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
James 2:25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot (Embassy keeper) justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
She hid the men, she knew in her heart that they were Israelites and her kinsman.
2:11 And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for Yahweh your God, He is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.
2:12 Now therefore, I pray you, swear (H7650) unto me by Yahweh, since I have shewed you kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father's house, and give me a true token:
2:17 And the men said unto her, We will be blameless of this your oath (H7621- something sworn) which you hast made us swear (H7650- by Yahweh).
2:18 Behold, when we come into the land, you shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which you didst let us down by: and you shalt bring your father, and your mother, and your brethren, and all your father's household, home unto you.
2:19 And it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of your house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be guiltless: and whosoever shall be with you in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be upon him.
2:20 And if you utter this our business, then we will be quit of your oath (H7621- something sworn) which you hast made us to swear (H7650- by Yahweh).
These men knew the seriousness of swearing by Yahweh. They promised to keep them safe while they attack later on. They also knew that they would be freed of the oath if she tell on them.
Joshua 5:6 For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people that were men of war, which came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they obeyed not the voice of Yahweh: unto whom Yahweh sware (H7650) that He would not shew them the land, which Yahweh sware (H7650) unto their fathers that He would give us, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
A reminder that the oath comes with blessings and curses, depending on allegiance (faith).
Joshua 6:22 But Joshua had said unto the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the harlot's (Embassy Keeper's) house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware (H7650- by Yahweh) unto her.
Joshua honored the oath to save the woman and her family for hiding the spies. An oath to Yahweh must be fulfilled.
This chapter in Joshua shows not only the curses of the oath, but also that Yahweh demands we perform our oaths, vows, and promises. Whatever the circumstance may be, whatsoever we swear, we must do. Especially if we swear by Yahweh.
Here in chapter 9, we will see that by swearing, even in ignorance, by Yahweh, we can trap ourselves into a curse.
The Gibeonites
Joshua 9:1 And it came to pass, when all the kings which were on this side Jordan, in the hills, and in the valleys, and in all the coasts of the great sea over against Lebanon, the Hittite, and the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, heard thereof;
9:2 That they gathered themselves together, to fight with Joshua and with Israel, with one accord.
Psalm 83:2 For, lo, Thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate Thee have lifted up the head.
5 For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against Thee:
9:3 And when the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done unto Jericho and to Ai,
2Samuel 21:1 Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of Yahweh. And Yahweh answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.
2 ... (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)
The Amorites are one of the tribes of Canaanites. Canaanite eventually mixed with Edomites. All these Canaanites and Edomites are the Jews.
9:4 They did work wilily (craftily), and went and made as if they had been ambassadors, and took old sacks upon their asses, and wine bottles, old, and rent, and bound up;
9:5 And old shoes and clouted upon their feet, and old garments upon them; and all the bread of their provision was dry and mouldy.
9:6 And they went to Joshua unto the camp at Gilgal, and said unto him, and to the men of Israel, We be come from a far country: now therefore make ye a league with us.
9:7 And the men of Israel said unto the Hivites (these Jews), Peradventure ye dwell among us; and how shall we make a league with you?
Exodus 23:32 Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.
33 They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against Me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee.
9:8 And they said unto Joshua, We are your servants. And Joshua said unto them, Who are ye? and from where come ye?
9:9 And they said unto him, From a very far country your servants are come because of the name of Yahweh your God: for we have heard the fame of Him, and all that He did in Egypt,
9:10 And all that He did to the two kings of the Amorites, that were beyond Jordan, to Sihon king of Heshbon, and to Og king of Bashan, which was at Ashtaroth. (Num 21:24,33)
9:11 Wherefore our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spake to us, saying, Take victuals with you for the journey, and go to meet them, and say unto them, We are your servants: therefore now make ye a league with us.
9:12 This our bread we took hot for our provision out of our houses on the day we came forth to go unto you; but now, behold, it is dry, and it is mouldy:
9:13 And these bottles of wine, which we filled, were new; and, behold, they be rent: and these our garments and our shoes are become old by reason of the very long journey.
9:14 And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of Yahweh.
Big mistake!
9:15 And Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware (H7650) unto them.
This H7650 is a binding oath and sworn by Yahweh. It was not sworn with Yahweh.
9:16 And it came to pass at the end of three days after they had made a league with them, that they heard that they were their neighbours (by place, not race), and that they dwelt among them.
9:17 And the children of Israel journeyed, and came unto their cities on the third day. Now their cities were Gibeon, and Chephirah, and Beeroth, and Kirjathjearim.
9:18 And the children of Israel smote them not, because the princes of the congregation had sworn (H7650) unto them by Yahweh God of Israel. And all the congregation murmured against the princes.
9:19 But all the princes said unto all the congregation, We have sworn (H7650) unto them by Yahweh God of Israel: now therefore we may not touch them.
9:20 This we will do to them; we will even let them live, lest wrath be upon us, because of the oath (H7621- curse) which we sware (H7650- by Yahweh) unto them.
The oath became a curse because they did not include Yahweh, who would not have approved.
An oath is a solemn declaration, made with an appeal to Yahweh for the truth of what is affirmed. If the declaration is false, it invokes the vengeance of Yahweh and renounces his favor. That's why Yahweh warned us not to accept the enemy in any way. Our ancestors had the chance to wipe them out, as Yahweh instructed, but didn't. Now we must deal with the thorns and briers.
Numbers 33:55 But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.
They did then, and still do now.
The Israelites knew that a greater curse will befall them if they do not honor their oath with the Gibeonites.
9:21 And the princes said unto them, Let them live; but let them be hewers of wood and drawers of water unto all the congregation; as the princes had promised (H1696- said to) them.
9:22 And Joshua called for them, and he spake unto them, saying, Wherefore have ye beguiled us, saying, We are very far from you; when ye dwell among us?
The children of the serpent perform the desires of their father. This is a parallel with Genesis and Eve and the serpent.
9:23 Now therefore ye are cursed, and there shall none of you be freed from being bondmen, and hewers of wood and drawers of water for the house of my God.
9:24 And they answered Joshua, and said, Because it was certainly told your servants, how that Yahweh your God commanded His servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you, therefore we were sore afraid of our lives because of you, and have done this thing.
9:25 And now, behold, we are in thine hand: as it seemeth good and right unto you to do unto us, do.
9:26 And so did he unto them, and delivered them out of the hand of the children of Israel, that they slew them not.
Joshua had to honor the oath.
9:27 And Joshua made them that day hewers of wood and drawers of water for the congregation, and for the altar of Yahweh, even unto this day, in the place which He should choose.
These Gibeonites, who were a remnant of the Amorites and Hivites, which are Canaanites, tricked the Israelites. As a result, the Israelites swore an oath by Yahweh not to slay them. This is the beginning of the major infiltration of the Canaanites and Edomites into the Levitical priesthood. By the time of Christ, these Jews (Canaanites and Edomites) have taken over and corrupted the priesthood. They took the books of Moses and changed them into 'the traditions of men', or Judaism. Today it's called Judeo-Christianity, which appears to be Christianity, and which is the opposite of Christianity. This is what happens when we carelessly make oaths unto Yahweh, and when we do not obey Yahweh. He warned us that these Canaanites and Edomites (Jews) would be thorns in our sides. Christ warned us of the leaven of the Pharisees (Jews). And now we are under their dominion today. The Jews are not Israel. And now these Jews run the world. And they have most everybody deceived into thinking they are God's people.
Who are the Nethinims?
The Nethinim were those "whom David and the princes appointed (Heb. gave) for the service of the Levites."
Servants of the priests and Levites in the menial services about the tabernacle and temple.
The tradition is that the Gibeonites (Joshua 9:27) were the original caste, afterwards called Nethinim.
Of the history of the Nethinim in earlier times there are but few and uncertain traces. When Joshua discovered that he had been beguiled by the Gibeonites into a covenant to let them live, he reduced their tribe to servitude, and declared, "Now therefore ye are cursed, and there shall never fail to be of you bondsmen, both hewers of wood and drawers of water for the house of my God".
Since they are not Israelites, they must either be Adamites or Canaanites/Edomites.
If indeed they are Canaanites/Edomites, it would make sense that they eventually would have risen slowly as “leaven” until it was too late, overtaking the priesthood by Christ's time.
At the time of the return from the exile the Nethinim had come to be regarded as important. Their number was considerable: 392 accompanied Zerubbabel at the first Return in 538 BC.
When Ezra, some 80 years later, organized the second Return, he secured a contingent of Nethinim numbering 220.
In Jerusalem they enjoyed the same privileges and immunities as the other religious orders, being included by Artaxerxes' letter to Ezra among those who should be exempt from toll, custom and tribute.
A part of the city in Ophel, opposite the Water-gate, was assigned them as an official residence (Neh 3:26,31), and the situation is certainly appropriate if their duties at all resembled those of the Gibeonites.
Joshua 14:9 And Moses sware (H7650) on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon your feet have trodden shall be your inheritance, and your children's for ever, because you hast wholly followed Yahweh my God.
Moses repeats the oath of the promises for following Yahweh.
Joshua 21:43 And Yahweh gave unto Israel all the land which He sware (H7650) to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.
21:44 And Yahweh gave them rest round about, according to all that He sware (H7650) unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; Yahweh delivered all their enemies into their hand.
The oath of H7650 is the greatest oath. The sacred oath. The oath Yahweh will never go back on.
Joshua 22:1 Then Joshua called the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh,
22:2 And said unto them, Ye have kept all that Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded you, and have obeyed my voice in all that I commanded you:
Numbers 32:20 And Moses said unto them, If ye will do this thing, if ye will go armed before Yahweh to war,
21 And will go all of you armed over Jordan before Yahweh, until He hath driven out His enemies from before Him,
22 And the land be subdued before Yahweh: then afterward ye shall return, and be guiltless before Yahweh, and before Israel; and this land shall be your possession before Yahweh.
22:3 Ye have not left your brethren these many days unto this day, but have kept the charge of the commandment of Yahweh your God.
22:4 And now Yahweh your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as He promised (H1696- told) them: therefore now return ye, and get you unto your tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of Yahweh gave you on the other side Jordan.
Reuben, Gad and the ½ tribe of Manasseh wanted to remain East of the Jordan, for the pastureland. They first had to go across the Jordan and help the rest of the tribes take the Promised land and then they may go back to the land East of the Jordan.
Joshua 23:5 And Yahweh your God, He shall expel them from before you, and drive them from out of your sight; and ye shall possess their land, as Yahweh your God hath promised (H1696- said) unto you.
23:6 Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left;
23:7 That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear (H7650) by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them:
23:8 But cleave unto Yahweh your God, as ye have done unto this day.
23:9 For Yahweh hath driven out from before you great nations and strong: but as for you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day.
23:10 One man of you shall chase a thousand: for Yahweh your God, He it is that fighteth for you, as He hath promised (H1696- said to) you.
23:11 Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love Yahweh your God.
23:12 Else if ye do in any wise go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, even these that remain among you, and shall make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you:
23:13 Know for a certainty that Yahweh your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which Yahweh your God hath given you.
23:14 And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which Yahweh your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof.
23:15 Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come upon you, which Yahweh your God promised (H1696- said to) you; so shall Yahweh bring upon you all evil things, until He have destroyed you from off this good land which Yahweh your God hath given you.
23:16 When ye have transgressed the covenant of Yahweh your God, which He commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them; then shall the anger of Yahweh be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which He hath given unto you.
Keep the covenant and prosper. Stray from it and be cursed.
Joshua demonstrates vows and oaths:
-Warning not to turn left or to the right. Keep the covenant.
-Rahab the inn keeper protects the spies and they vow deliverance to her family.
-The oath with Rahab is honored.
-An oath that is sworn in the name of Yahweh, without Yahweh, becomes a curse. The trickery of the Gibeonites leads to infiltration into the priesthood and eventual murder of Christ. All part of Yahweh's plan of course.
-The tribes of Gad, Reuben and ½ of Manasseh honor their oath to help settle the rest of Israel West of Jordan before returning East of Jordan to their lot.
Judges 2:1 And an angel (messenger) of Yahweh came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware (H7650) unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break My covenant with you.
Again, another book starts off with the sacred oath. The promise made to Abraham's seed. The oath Yahweh made with the children of Israel and vice versa.
Judges 2:11 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of Yahweh, and served Baalim: AGAIN!
2:14 And the anger of Yahweh was hot against Israel, and He delivered them into the hands of spoilers that spoiled them, and He sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies.
2:15 Whithersoever they went out, the hand of Yahweh was against them for evil, as Yahweh had said, and as Yahweh had sworn (H7650) unto them: and they were greatly distressed.
But He would not entirely destroy them, because He keeps His oath of mercy, His promise to Abraham that his seed will bless the earth. Yahweh performs His oath by sending His messengers. He always provides a path back to Him.
2:16 Nevertheless Yahweh raised up judges, which delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them.
He allows the enemy to punish us when we break our oath and covenant with Him.
The story of Jephthah is another serious example of using Yahweh's name with a vow, and having to perform the utterance of what would be a curse.
Judges 11:1 Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he was the son of an harlot: and Gilead begat Jephthah.
11:2 And Gilead's wife bare him sons; and his wife's sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, you shalt not inherit in our father's house; for you art the son of a strange woman.
Strange is acher, it means other, in this case here a concubine.
11:3 Then Jephthah fled from his brethren, and dwelt in the land of Tob: and there were gathered vain men to Jephthah, and went out with him.
11:4 And it came to pass in process of time, that the children of Ammon made war against Israel.
11:5 And it was so, that when the children of Ammon made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob:
11:6 And they said unto Jephthah, Come, and be our captain, that we may fight with the children of Ammon.
11:7 And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, Did not ye hate me, and expel me out of my father's house? and why are ye come unto me now when ye are in distress?
11:8 And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, Therefore we turn again to thee now, that you mayest go with us, and fight against the children of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.
11:9 And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, If ye bring me home again to fight against the children of Ammon, and Yahweh deliver them before me, shall I be your head?
11:10 And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, Yahweh be witness between us, if we do not so according to thy words.
This was an oath.
11:11 Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and captain over them: and Jephthah uttered all his words before Yahweh in Mizpeh.
11:12 And Jephthah sent messengers unto the king of the children of Ammon, saying, What hast you to do with me, that you art come against me to fight in my land?
11:13 And the king of the children of Ammon answered unto the messengers of Jephthah, Because Israel took away my land, when they came up out of Egypt, from Arnon even unto Jabbok, and unto Jordan: now therefore restore those lands again peaceably.
We know that the king of Ammon is lying.
Numbers 21:24 And Israel smote him (Sihon king of Amorites) with the edge of the sword, and possessed his land from Arnon unto Jabbok, even unto the children of Ammon: for the border of the children of Ammon was strong.
25 And Israel took all these cities: and Israel dwelt in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon, and in all the villages thereof.
26 For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and taken all his land out of his hand, even unto Arnon.
11:14 And Jephthah sent messengers again unto the king of the children of Ammon:
11:15 And said unto him, Thus saith Jephthah, Israel took not away the land of Moab, nor the land of the children of Ammon:
Deuteronomy 2:9 And Yahweh said unto me, Distress not the Moabites, neither contend with them in battle: for I will not give thee of their land for a possession; because I have given Ar unto the children of Lot for a possession.
19 And when thou comest nigh over against the children of Ammon, distress them not, nor meddle with them: for I will not give thee of the land of the children of Ammon any possession; because I have given it unto the children of Lot for a possession.
11:16 But when Israel came up from Egypt, and walked through the wilderness unto the Red sea, and came to Kadesh;
Numbers 13:26 And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.
11:17 Then Israel sent messengers unto the king of Edom, saying, Let me, I pray thee, pass through thy land: but the king of Edom would not hearken thereto. And in like manner they sent unto the king of Moab: but he would not consent: and Israel abode in Kadesh.
11:18 Then they went along through the wilderness, and compassed the land of Edom, and the land of Moab, and came by the east side of the land of Moab, and pitched on the other side of Arnon, but came not within the border of Moab: for Arnon was the border of Moab.
Numbers 21:4 And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Sea of Reeds, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.
Deuteronomy 2:1 Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Sea of Reeds, as Yahweh spake unto me: and we compassed mount Seir many days.
2 And Yahweh spake unto me, saying,
3 Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward.
4 And command thou the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the coast of your brethren the children of Esau, which dwell in Seir; and they shall be afraid of you: take ye good heed unto yourselves therefore:
5 Meddle not with them; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as a foot breadth; because I have given mount Seir unto Esau for a possession.
6 Ye shall buy meat of them for money, that ye may eat; and ye shall also buy water of them for money, that ye may drink.
7 For Yahweh thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: He knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years Yahweh thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.
8 And when we passed by from our brethren the children of Esau, which dwelt in Seir, through the way of the plain from Elath, and from Eziongaber, we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab.
11:19 And Israel sent messengers unto Sihon king of the Amorites, the king of Heshbon; and Israel said unto him, Let us pass, we pray thee, through thy land into my place. (Deut 2:26 Num 21:22)
11:20 But Sihon trusted not Israel to pass through his coast: but Sihon gathered all his people together, and pitched in Jahaz, and fought against Israel. (Num 21:23 Deut 2:32)
11:21 And Yahweh God of Israel delivered Sihon and all his people into the hand of Israel, and they smote them: so Israel possessed all the land of the Amorites, the inhabitants of that country. (Num21:24-25 Deut 2:36)
11:22 And they possessed all the coasts of the Amorites, from Arnon even unto Jabbok, and from the wilderness even unto Jordan.
11:23 So now Yahweh God of Israel hath dispossessed the Amorites from before His people Israel, and shouldest you possess it?
The Amorites defeated both your tribes and took it from you, and we took it from the Amorites. So you can't accuse us from taking it from you.
11:24 Wilt not you possess that which Chemosh thy god giveth thee to possess? So whomsoever Yahweh our God shall drive out from before us, them will we possess.
11:25 And now art you any thing better than Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab? did he ever strive against Israel, or did he ever fight against them,
11:26 While Israel dwelt in Heshbon and her towns, and in Aroer and her towns, and in all the cities that be along by the coasts of Arnon, three hundred years? why therefore did ye not recover them within that time? (Num 21:25 22:2 Josh 24:9 Deut 2:36)
You had 300 years to do it.
11:27 Wherefore I have not sinned against thee, but you doest me wrong to war against me: Yahweh the Judge be judge this day between the children of Israel and the children of Ammon.
11:28 Howbeit the king of the children of Ammon hearkened not unto the words of Jephthah which he sent him.
11:29 Then the Spirit of Yahweh came upon Jephthah, and he passed over Gilead, and Manasseh, and passed over Mizpeh of Gilead, and from Mizpeh of Gilead he passed over unto the children of Ammon.
Next is the oath that becomes a curse. Speaking ignorantly or foolishly will still have to be answered for. Yahweh holds you to all oaths, vows and promises.
11:30 And Jephthah vowed (H5087- promised) a vow (H5088- promise) unto Yahweh, and said, If You shalt without fail deliver the children of Ammon into mine hands,
11:31 Then it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be Yahweh's, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering.
Psalm 66:13 I will go into Thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay Thee my vows,
14 Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.
11:32 So Jephthah passed over unto the children of Ammon to fight against them; and Yahweh delivered them into his hands.
11:33 And he smote them from Aroer, even till you come to Minnith, even twenty cities, and unto the plain of the vineyards, with a very great slaughter. Thus the children of Ammon were subdued before the children of Israel.
Here is where Jephthah's word obligates (binds) him.
11:34 And Jephthah came to Mizpeh unto his house, and, behold, his daughter came out to meet him with timbrels and with dances: and she was his only child; beside her he had neither son nor daughter.
11:35 And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he rent his clothes, and said, Alas, my daughter! you hast brought me very low, and you art one of them that trouble me: for I have opened my mouth unto Yahweh, and I cannot go back.
Septuagint: 35 And it came to pass when he saw her, that he rent his garments, and said, Ah, ah, my daughter, thou hast indeed troubled me, and thou wast the cause of my trouble; and I have opened my mouth against thee to Yahweh, and I shall not be able to return from it.
Ecclesiastes 5:2 Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.
Numbers 30:2 If a man vow a vow unto Yahweh, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.
11:36 And she said unto him, My father, if you hast opened thy mouth unto Yahweh, do to me according to that which hath proceeded out of thy mouth; forasmuch as Yahweh hath taken vengeance for thee of thine enemies, even of the children of Ammon.
11:37 And she said unto her father, Let this thing be done for me: let me alone two months, that I may go up and down upon the mountains, and bewail (weep on account of) my virginity, I and my fellows (companions).
11:38 And he said, Go. And he sent her away for two months: and she went with her companions, and bewailed (wept bitterly) her virginity upon the mountains.
11:39 And it came to pass at the end of two months, that she returned unto her father, who did with her according to his vow (H5088- promise) which he had vowed (H5087- promised): and she knew no man. And it was a custom in Israel,
11:40 That the daughters of Israel went yearly to lament the daughter of Jephthah the Gileadite four days in a year.
Jephthah in verse 30 makes a vow, not expecting his only daughter to come out of the house.
11:31 Then it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be Yahweh's, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering.
We must be careful of the vows, oaths, and promises we make, especially when we involve Yahweh. Did he really sacrifice his daughter?, it certainly appears so. But human sacrifice is against Yahweh's laws. Fortunately the KJV translation of verse 31 is in error.
The original Hebrew reads: “...and I will offer up for it a burnt offering.”
Jephthah did not sacrifice his daughter, as the mis-translation suggests.
Jephthah's daughter was dedicated to Yahweh. Being Jephthah's only daughter, now devoted to Yahweh, she would not bring Jephthah grandchildren.
Oaths are serious. Jephthah fulfilled this sacred oath. He went on to judge Israel six years.
Judges 15:12 And they said unto him, We are come down to bind you, that we may deliver you into the hand of the Philistines. And Samson said unto them, Swear (H7650- take an oath) unto me, that ye will not fall upon me yourselves.
15:13 And they spake unto him, saying, No; but we will bind thee fast, and deliver thee into their hand: but surely we will not kill thee. And they bound him with two new cords, and brought him up from the rock.
The tribe of Benjamin at this time had become almost entirely pagan and homo/bi sexual and committed lewdness and folly among the nation of Israel.
Judges 21:1 Now the men of Israel had sworn (H7650) in Mizpeh, saying, There shall not any of us give his daughter unto Benjamin to wife.
21:2 And the people came to the house of God, and abode there till even before God, and lifted up their voices, and wept sore;
21:3 And said, O Yahweh God of Israel, why is this come to pass in Israel, that there should be to day one tribe lacking in Israel?
Almost all of Benjamin were killed in this civil war.
21:4 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the people rose early, and built there an altar, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings.
21:5 And the children of Israel said, Who is there among all the tribes of Israel that came not up with the congregation unto Yahweh? For they had made a great oath (H7621- attesting of innocence) concerning him that came not up to Yahweh to Mizpeh, saying, He shall surely be put to death.
21:6 And the children of Israel repented them for Benjamin their brother, and said, There is one tribe cut off from Israel this day.
21:7 How shall we do for wives for them that remain, seeing we have sworn (H7650) by Yahweh that we will not give them of our daughters to wives?
21:8 And they said, What one is there of the tribes of Israel that came not up to Mizpeh to Yahweh? And, behold, there came none to the camp from Jabeshgilead to the assembly.
21:9 For the people were numbered, and, behold, there were none of the inhabitants of Jabeshgilead there.
Numbers 32:40 And Moses gave Gilead unto Machir the son of Manasseh; and he dwelt therein.
Verse 8 states that there were some of Israel in Jabeshgilead that did not come up to Mizpeh.
21:10 And the congregation sent thither twelve thousand men of the valiantest, and commanded them, saying, Go and smite the inhabitants of Jabeshgilead with the edge of the sword, with the women and the children.
21:11 And this is the thing that ye shall do, Ye shall utterly destroy every male, and every woman that hath lain by man.
21:12 And they found among the inhabitants of Jabeshgilead four hundred young virgins, that had known no man by lying with any male: and they brought them unto the camp to Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan.
Shiloh is a city in Ephraim where the Ark of the Covenant rested.
21:13 And the whole congregation sent some to speak to the children of Benjamin that were in the rock Rimmon, and to call peaceably unto them.
21:14 And Benjamin came again at that time; and they gave them wives which they had saved alive of the women of Jabeshgilead: and yet so they sufficed them not.
They did not attain them. For whatever reason they declined.
21:15 And the people repented them for Benjamin, because that Yahweh had made a breach in the tribes of Israel.
21:16 Then the elders of the congregation said, How shall we do for wives for them that remain, seeing the women are destroyed out of Benjamin?
21:17 And they said, There must be an inheritance for them that be escaped of Benjamin, that a tribe be not destroyed out of Israel.
21:18 Howbeit we may not give them wives of our daughters: for the children of Israel have sworn (H7650), saying, Cursed be he that giveth a wife to Benjamin.
21:19 Then they said, Behold, there is a feast of Yahweh in Shiloh yearly in a place which is on the north side of Bethel, on the east side of the highway that goeth up from Bethel to Shechem, and on the south of Lebonah.
21:20 Therefore they commanded the children of Benjamin, saying, Go and lie in wait in the vineyards;
21:21 And see, and, behold, if the daughters of Shiloh come out to dance in dances, then come ye out of the vineyards, and catch you every man his wife of the daughters of Shiloh, and go to the land of Benjamin.
21:22 And it shall be, when their fathers or their brethren come unto us to complain, that we will say unto them, Be favourable unto them for our sakes: because we reserved not to each man his wife in the war: for ye did not give unto them at this time, that ye should be guilty.
21:23 And the children of Benjamin did so, and took them wives, according to their number, of them that danced, whom they caught: and they went and returned unto their inheritance, and repaired the cities, and dwelt in them.
21:24 And the children of Israel departed thence at that time, every man to his tribe and to his family, and they went out from thence every man to his inheritance.
21:25 In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.
In Judges we saw:
-The sacred oath again stated. The promises made to Abraham and the children of Israel.
-Judges are sent by Yahweh to bring His people back to the covenant. The judges are a demonstration that Yahweh provides a path back to Him, and therefore sustaining the oath.
-The story of Jephthah reveals the seriousness and accountability oaths require.
-The Israelites have to work around an oath they made, to get the children of Benjamin viable wives.
1Samuel 1:11 And she vowed (H5087- promised) a vow (H5088- promise), and said, O Yahweh of hosts, if You wilt indeed look on the affliction of Your handmaid, and remember me, and not forget Your handmaid, but wilt give unto Your handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto Yahweh all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.
1:20 Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of Yahweh.
Samuel means heard of Yahweh.
1:21 And the man Elkanah, and all his house, went up to offer unto Yahweh the yearly sacrifice, and his vow (H5088- promise).
1:28 Therefore also I have lent him (dedicated) to Yahweh; as long as he liveth he shall be lent (dedicated) to Yahweh. And he worshipped Yahweh there.
Samuel's mother Hannah dedicated Samuel to Yahweh, honoring her vow.
1Samuel 3:11 And Yahweh said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.
3:12 In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end. (2:27-34)
3:13 For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.
3:14 And therefore I have sworn (H7650) unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever.
Yahweh keeps his oaths. Eli broke his neck (4:18) and died and his sons were slain (4:11).
1Samuel 14:23 So Yahweh saved Israel that day: and the battle passed over unto Bethaven.
14:24 And the men of Israel were distressed that day: for Saul had adjured the people, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth any food until evening, that I may be avenged on mine enemies. So none of the people tasted any food.
14:25 And all they of the land came to a wood; and there was honey upon the ground.
14:26 And when the people were come into the wood, behold, the honey dropped; but no man put his hand to his mouth: for the people feared the oath (H7621- curse).
14:27 But Jonathan heard not when his father charged the people with the oath (H7650): wherefore he put forth the end of the rod that was in his hand, and dipped it in an honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened.
14:28 Then answered one of the people, and said, Thy father straitly charged the people with an oath (H7650), saying, Cursed be the man that eateth any food this day. And the people were faint.
14:43 Then Saul said to Jonathan, Tell me what thou hast done. And Jonathan told him, and said, I did but taste a little honey with the end of the rod that was in mine hand, and, lo, I must die.
14:45 And the people said unto Saul, Shall Jonathan die, who hath wrought this great salvation in Israel? God forbid: as Yahweh liveth, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he hath wrought with God this day. So the people rescued Jonathan, that he died not.
Saul was not a righteous king, he performed priestly acts, not being a priest, and made an ignorant oath which troubled the land, and almost got Jonathan killed. Oaths are serious business.
1Samuel 19:1 And Saul spake to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David.
19:6 And Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan: and Saul sware (H7650), As Yahweh liveth, he shall not be slain.
Saul still tried to kill David, many times. He broke his oath and eventually paid for it.
1Samuel 20:3 And David sware (H7650) moreover, and said, Thy father certainly knoweth that I have found grace in your eyes; and he saith, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved: but truly as Yahweh liveth, and as your soul liveth, there is but a step between me and death.
David and Jonathan knew Saul still sought to kill David.
1Samuel 20:17 And Jonathan caused David to swear (H7650) again, because he loved him: for he loved him as he loved his own soul.
No matter what happens with Saul, David promised to be kind to the house of Saul. David honors his oath, as scripture verifies later.
20:42 And Jonathan said to David, Go in peace, forasmuch as we have sworn (H7650) both of us in the name of Yahweh, saying, Yahweh be between me and you, and between my seed and your seed for ever. And he arose and departed: and Jonathan went into the city.
David spares Saul in the cave
1Samuel 24:21 Swear (H7650) now therefore unto me by Yahweh, that you wilt not cut off my seed after me, and that you wilt not destroy my name out of my father's house.
24:22 And David sware (H7650) unto Saul. And Saul went home; but David and his men gat them up unto the hold.
David had several chances to kill Saul but didn't.
Saul seeks the witch at Endor, because Yahweh did not answer him.
1Samuel 28:9 And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die?
28:10 And Saul sware (H7650) to her by Yahweh, saying, As Yahweh liveth, there shall no punishment happen to you for this thing.
In addition to Saul's unrighteous acts and oaths, he sought counsel from a witch.
The Amalekites captured David's family and burned Ziklag with fire. They found an Egyptian that was left behind...
1Samuel 30:15 And David said to him, Canst you bring me down to this company? And he (the Egyptian) said, Swear (H7650) unto me by God, that you wilt neither kill me, nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will bring you down to this company.
30:18 And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives.
30:19 And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all.
2Samuel 3:6 And it came to pass, while there was war between the house of Saul and the house of David, that Abner made himself strong (was governing) for the house of Saul.
3:7 And Saul had a concubine, whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah: and Ishbosheth said to Abner, Wherefore hast thou gone in unto my father's concubine?
3:8 Then was Abner very wroth for the words of Ishbosheth, and said, Am I a dog's head, which against Judah do shew kindness this day unto the house of Saul thy father, to his brethren, and to his friends, and have not delivered thee into the hand of David, that thou chargest me to day with a fault concerning this woman?
3:9 So do God to Abner, and more also, except, as Yahweh hath sworn (H7650) to David, even so I do to him;
3:10 To translate the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beersheba.
Yahweh swore that the house of David shall reign forever.
3:24 Then Joab came to the king, and said, What hast thou done? behold, Abner came unto thee; why is it that thou hast sent him away, and he is quite gone?
3:25 Thou knowest Abner the son of Ner, that he came to deceive thee, and to know thy going out and thy coming in, and to know all that thou doest.
3:26 And when Joab was come out from David, he sent messengers after Abner, which brought him again from the well of Sirah: but David knew it not.
3:27 And when Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside in the gate to speak with him quietly, and smote him there under the fifth rib, that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.
1Kings 2:5 Moreover thou knowest also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two captains of the hosts of Israel, unto Abner the son of Ner, and unto Amasa the son of Jether, whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war upon his girdle that was about his loins, and in his shoes that were on his feet.
3:28 And afterward when David heard it, he said, I and my kingdom are guiltless before Yahweh for ever from the blood of Abner the son of Ner:
3:29 Let it rest on the head of Joab, and on all his father's house; and let there not fail from the house of Joab one that hath an issue, or that is a leper, or that leaneth on a staff, or that falleth on the sword, or that lacketh bread.
3:30 So Joab and Abishai his brother slew Abner, because he had slain their brother Asahel at Gibeon in the battle.
3:35 And when all the people came to cause David to eat meat while it was yet day, David sware (H7650), saying, So do God to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or ought else, till the sun be down.
2Samuel 7:28 And now, O Yahweh GOD, you art that God, and Your words be true, and You hast promised (H1696- declared) this goodness (perpetual reign) unto Your servant:
7:29 Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Yahweh GOD, hast spoken it: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.
Yahweh keeps His word, Queen Elizabeth II is the reigning Judahite today.
2Samuel 15:7 And it came to pass after forty years, that Absalom said unto the king, I pray you, let me go and pay my vow (H5088- promise), which I have vowed (H5087- promised) unto Yahweh, in Hebron.
15:8 For your servant vowed (H5087- promised) a vow (H5088- promise) while I abode at Geshur in Syria, saying, If Yahweh shall bring me again indeed to Jerusalem, then I will serve Yahweh.
Absalom tried to usurp the kingdom from his father David. He later was caught by his hair in a tree and Joab slayed him.
Joab tells David that he better speak to the people instead of mourn his wicked son.
2Samuel 19:7 Now therefore arise, go forth, and speak comfortably unto your servants: for I swear (H7650) by Yahweh, if you go not forth, there will not tarry one with you this night: and that will be worse unto you than all the evil that befell you from your youth until now.
2Samuel 19:23 Therefore the king said unto Shimei, Thou shalt not die. And the king sware (H7650) unto him.
Shimei was a Benjaminite, of the house of Saul, that threw stones at David in chapter 16. David honored his oath to be kind to the house of Saul.
2Samuel 21:1 Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of Yahweh. And Yahweh answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.
21:2 And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them; (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn (H7650) unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)
21:3 Wherefore David said unto the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and wherewith shall I make the atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of Yahweh?
21:4 And the Gibeonites said unto him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, that will I do for you.
21:5 And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,
21:6 Let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto Yahweh in Gibeah of Saul, whom Yahweh did choose. And the king said, I will give them.
21:7 But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of Yahweh's oath (H7621- oath, curse) that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.
Because of the oath made with the Gibeonites by Joshua years back, David had to honor it. These Gibeonites were of the cursed seed of Cain, nevertheless, Yahweh holds us to our oaths.
David also kept the oath to spare the house of Jonathan.
2Samuel 21:15 Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint.
21:16 And Ishbibenob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David.
21:17 But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware (H7650) unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that you quench not the light of Israel.
The books of Samuel also has many examples of oaths, vows and promises:
-Samuel is dedicated to Yahweh by a vow from his mother.
-Yahweh keeps His oath that the house of Eli will end.
-Saul's foolish oath almost gets Jonathan killed.
-Saul swears not to kill David, and goes back on his vow.
-David swears to Jonathan to preserve his house.
-David swears not to destroy Saul's seed.
-Yahweh promises to bless the house of David forever.
-David honors his oaths to the house of Saul, and the deceptive Gibeonites.
1Kings 1:13 Go and get you in unto king David, and say unto him, Didst not you, my lord, O king, swear (H7650) unto your handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? why then doth Adonijah reign?
1:28 Then king David answered and said, Call me Bathsheba. And she came into the king's presence, and stood before the king.
1:29 And the king sware (H7650), and said, As Yahweh liveth, that hath redeemed my soul out of all distress,
1:30 Even as I sware (H7650) unto you by Yahweh God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my stead; even so will I certainly do this day.
David made good on his promise and crowned Solomon, and Adonijah had to comply.
1:51 And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah feareth king Solomon: for, lo, he hath caught hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear (H7650) unto me to day that he will not slay his servant with the sword.
1:52 And Solomon said, If he will shew himself a worthy man, there shall not an hair of him fall to the earth: but if wickedness shall be found in him, he shall die.
1Kings 2:8 And, behold, you hast with you Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite of Bahurim, which cursed (H7043- to make light, dishonor) me with a grievous curse (H7045- vilification) in the day when I went to Mahanaim: but he came down to meet me at Jordan, and I sware (H7650) to him by Yahweh, saying, I will not put you to death with the sword.
2:9 Now therefore hold him not guiltless: for you art a wise man, and knowest what you oughtest to do unto him; but his hoar head bring you down to the grave with blood.
2:10 So David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.
It certainly appears like David broke his oath. But He didn't.
The word 'wise' comes from: H2450 chakam, wise, (that is, intelligent, skilful or artful): - cunning (man), subtil, ([un-]), wise ([hearted], man).
BDB Definition has: 1a) skilful (in technical work) 1b) wise (in administration) 1c) shrewd, crafty, cunning, wily, subtle 1d) learned, shrewd (class of men) 1e) prudent
With further study, we find that evidently David knew his son Solomon would be wise. We find that in 1Kings 2:36-46, Solomon charged Shimei with a command and Shimei broke it.
Adonijah was not showing himself a worthy man to live.
1Kings 2:23 Then king Solomon sware (H7650) by Yahweh, saying, God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah have not spoken this word against his own life.
2:24 Now therefore, as Yahweh liveth, which hath established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who hath made me an house, as He promised (H1696- declared), Adonijah shall be put to death this day.
2:25 And king Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell upon him (Adonijah) that he died.
2:26 And unto Abiathar the priest said the king, Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields; for thou art worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou barest the ark of Yahweh GOD before David my father, and because thou hast been afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted.
2:27 So Solomon thrust out Abiathar from being priest unto Yahweh; that he might fulfil the word of Yahweh, which He spake concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh. (1Samuel 3:11-14)
Yahweh fulfills His oaths. Adonijah did not. Adonijah's oath became a curse and he was slain.
1Kings 2:42 And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, Did I not make you to swear (H7650) by Yahweh, and protested unto you, saying, Know for a certain, on the day you goest out, and walkest abroad any whither, that you shalt surely die? and you saidst unto me, The word that I have heard is good.
2:43 Why then hast you not kept the oath (H7621- charge, oath) of Yahweh, and the commandment that I have charged you with?
2:44 The king said moreover to Shimei, Thou knowest all the wickedness which thine heart is privy to, that thou didst to David my father: therefore Yahweh shall return thy wickedness upon thine own head;
2:45 And king Solomon shall be blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before Yahweh for ever.
2:46 So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; which went out, and fell upon him, that he died. And the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon.
This shows that David did not break his oath with Shimei. Shimei broke his oath with Solomon.
1Kings 5:12 And Yahweh gave Solomon wisdom, as He promised (H1696- said to) him: and there was peace between Hiram (King of Tyre) and Solomon; and they two made a league together.
Solomon gave Hiram wheat and oil, and Hiram gave Solomon cedar and fir trees for the temple.
Solomon followed Yahweh and did right, so Yahweh honored His oath for wisdom.
1Kings 8:20 And Yahweh hath performed His word that He spake, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Yahweh promised (H7650), and have built an house for the name of Yahweh God of Israel.
8:24 Who hast kept with Your servant David my father that You promisedst (H1696- spoke to) him: You spakest (H1696) also with Your mouth, and hast fulfilled it with Your hand, as it is this day. (2Chr 6:15)
8:25 Therefore now, Yahweh God of Israel, keep with Your servant David my father that You promisedst (H1696- spake to) him, saying, There shall not fail you a man in My sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that your children take heed to their way, that they walk before Me as you hast walked before Me. (2Chr 6:16)
8:26 And now, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified, which thou spakest unto thy servant David my father.
8:31 If any man trespass against his neighbour, and an oath (H423- oath of covenant, a curse) be laid upon him to cause him to swear (H422- to take an oath, to curse), and the oath (H422- curse) come (make confession) before your altar in this house: (2Chr 6:22)
8:32 Then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his (the wicked's) way upon his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him (the righteous) according to his righteousness.
When making oaths, one also is in danger of the curses of not keeping oaths.
1Kings 8:56 Blessed be Yahweh, that hath given rest unto His people Israel, according to all that He promised (H1696- declared): there hath not failed one word of all His good promise (H1697- utterance), which He promised (H1696- declared) by the hand of Moses His servant.
1Kings 9:4 And if thou wilt walk before Me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep My statutes and My judgments:
9:5 Then I will establish the throne of your kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised (H1696- spoke) to David your father, saying, There shall not fail you a man upon the throne of Israel.
The oath equation is simple. You obey, I establish. You disobey, I curse.
1Kings 18:10 As Yahweh your God liveth, there is no nation or kingdom, whither my lord hath not sent to seek you: and when they said, He is not there; he took an oath (H7650) of the kingdom and nation, that they found you not.
2Kings 8:18 And he (Jehoram) walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife: and he (Jehoram) did evil in the sight of Yahweh.
8:19 Yet Yahweh would not destroy Judah for David His servant's sake, as He promised (H559- said) him to give him alway a light, and to his children.
Again we see that Yahweh will not break His oath with David.
2Kings 11:4 And the seventh year Jehoiada (the priest) sent and fetched the rulers over hundreds, with the captains and the guard, and brought them to him into the house of Yahweh, and made a covenant with them, and took an oath (H7650) of them in the house of Yahweh, and shewed them the king's son (Joash).
Joash was the only surviving son from the slaughter by Athaliah.
1Chronicles 16:16 Even of the covenant which He made with Abraham, and of His oath (H7621- something sworn) unto Isaac;
16:17 And hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant,
1Chronicles 17:26 And now, Yahweh, You art God, and hast promised (H1696- spoken) this goodness unto Your servant:
17:27 Now therefore let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for thou blessest, O Yahweh, and it shall be blessed for ever.
Yahweh's covenant with David's seed reigning forever has not been broken, and will be seated for eternity by Yahshua when He returns, because He is of David's seed.
2Chronicles 1:9 Now, O Yahweh God, let Your promise (H1697- word) unto David my father be established: for You hast made me (Solomon) king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.
2Chronicles 6:10 Yahweh therefore hath performed His word that He hath spoken: for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and am set on the throne of Israel, as Yahweh promised (H1696- spoken), and have built the house for the name of Yahweh God of Israel.
In the reign of Asa king of Judah...
2Chronicles 15:12 And they entered into a covenant to seek Yahweh God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;
15:13 That whosoever would not seek Yahweh God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.
15:14 And they sware (H7650) unto Yahweh with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets.
15:15 And all Judah rejoiced at the oath (H7621- that which was sworn, v14): for they had sworn (H7650) with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and He was found of them: and Yahweh gave them rest round about.
Another sacred oath between Yahweh and His people. Obedience and blessings for seeking Him, and curses and death for whosoever would not seek Him.
2Chronicles 21:7 Howbeit Yahweh would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that He had made with David, and as He promised (H559- spoke, declared) to give a light to him and to his sons for ever.
2Chronicles 36:13 And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear (H7650) by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto Yahweh God of Israel.
Zedekiah broke his oath with Nebuchadnezzar. Zedekiah wound up watching his sons slain and his eyes gouged out.
In the Kings and Chronicles we see:
-David makes good on oath, finally, and seats Solomon, before Adonijah gets out of hand.
-David seems to break his oath with Shimei.
-Adonijah is slain for breaking his oath with Solomon.
-Shimei breaks his oath with Solomon and is slain. David therefore did not break his oath.
-Solomon receives wisdom as Yahweh promised.
-Oaths not kept become curses.
-Yahweh will always keep the Davidic Covenant (perpetual reign).
-The house of Judah makes a covenant with Yahweh to seek Him.
Ezra 10:3 Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my master, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.
The Septuagint has: 3 Now then let us make a covenant with our God, to put away all the wives, and their offspring, as thou shalt advise:
10:4 Arise; for this matter belongeth unto thee: we also will be with thee: be of good courage, and do it.
1Chronicles 28:10 Take heed now; for Yahweh hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.
Our bodies are His temple. His Spirit (DNA) was breathed into the race of Adam. We are holy and pure and He demands we stay that way, “kind after kind”. When we race mix, we create broken cisterns, vessels that cannot hold water (the Spirit, pure genetic DNA).
10:5 Then arose Ezra, and made the chief priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear (H7650) that they should do according to this word. And they sware (H7650).
The return from Babylonian captivity and the time of Ezra and Nehemiah was a time of great revival for the children of Israel. The only other times after that was the Reformation and the beginning of America. That' it. The next one will be the return of our Kinsman Redeemer.
A fresh start and they were already getting into personal and national debt.
The people were being oppressed and Nehemiah put a stop to it.
Nehemiah 5:7 Then I consulted with myself, and I rebuked the nobles, and the rulers, and said unto them, Ye exact usury, every one of his brother. And I set a great assembly against them.
5:11 Restore, I pray you, to them, even this day, their lands, their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses, also the hundredth part of the money, and of the corn, the wine, and the oil, that ye exact of them.
5:12 Then said they, We will restore them, and will require nothing of them; so will we do as you sayest. Then I called the priests, and took an oath (H7650) of them, that they should do according to this promise (H1697- word).
5:13 Also I shook my lap, and said, So God shake out every man from his house, and from his labour, that performeth not this promise (H1697- word), even thus be he shaken out, and emptied. And all the congregation said, Amen, and praised Yahweh. And the people did according to this promise (H1697- word).
Where are the watchmen today? Who fights for our rights today? We have broken our oath with Yahweh as a nation, no wonder we are cursed with aliens, sickness, usury and oppression.
The children of Israel were assembled with fasting, worshiping, and reading the book of the law. Celebrating their heritage. Paying homage to Abraham. Remembering the Exodus.
Nehemiah 9:13 Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven, and gavest them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commandments:
9:14 And madest known unto them thy holy sabbath, and commandedst them precepts, statutes, and laws, by the hand of Moses thy servant:
9:15 And gavest them bread from heaven for their hunger, and broughtest forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promisedst (H559- said to) them that they should go in to possess the land which You hadst sworn (H7650) to give them.
Nehemiah 9:23 Their children also multipliedst you as the stars of heaven, and broughtest them into the land, concerning which you hadst promised (H-declared) to their fathers, that they should go in to possess it.
The theme never changes. Yahweh promises to Abraham's seed is everlasting.
Nehemiah 10:29 They clave to their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse (H423- covenant), and into an oath (H7621- curse), to walk in God's law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of Yahweh our Elohiym, and His judgments and His statutes;
Nehemiah 13:23 In those days also saw I Judahites that had married wives of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab:
Ezra 9:2 For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass.
The authorities and upper class were more guilty of this.
13:24 And their children spake half in the speech of Ashdod, and could not speak in the Judahites' language, but according to the language of each people.
13:25 And I contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear (H7650) by God, saying, Ye shall not give your daughters unto their sons, nor take their daughters unto your sons, or for yourselves.
In other words: “DO NOT RACE MIX!!!”
13:26 Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did outlandish women cause to sin.
Part of the oath we made to Yahweh is to remain separate and pure.
-In Ezra, the people made a covenant to put away their strange wives and children.
-In Nehemiah, he has the nobles and the priests make an oath to stop usury and restore the possessions to the people.
-The children of Israel assemble to celebrate the sacred oath between Yahweh and their fathers.
-Race mixing breaks the covenant (oath) with Yahweh.
Job 22:27 You shalt make your prayer unto Him, and He shall hear you, and you shalt pay your vows (H5088- promises).
The context is 'who shall abide in Yahweh's tabernacle?'.
He that walketh uprightly, and...
Psalm 15:4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear Yahweh. He that sweareth (H7650) to his own hurt, and changeth not.
The Hebrew: 4 In whose eyes a rejector of God is despised; but he honors those that revere Yahweh. He that swears to an oath even to his hurt, and does not change his mind.
When the unrighteous swears an oath, that oath becomes a curse to his own hurt.
Psalm 22:25 My praise shall be of You in the great congregation: I will pay my vows (H5088- promises) before them that fear Him.
22:26 The meek (humble) shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise Yahweh that seek Him: your heart shall live for ever.
Psalm 24:4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn (H7650) deceitfully.
Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
24:5 He shall receive the blessing from Yahweh, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Psalm 50:14 Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay your vows (H5088- promises) unto the most High:
Psalm 56:12 Your vows (H5088- promises) are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto You.
56:13 For You hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not You deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before (in the presence of) God in the light of the living?
Light also means enlightenment or wisdom.
Yahweh's promises are upon us when we praise and follow Him. The oath works both ways.
Psalm 61:5 For You, O God, hast heard my vows (H5088- promises): You hast given me the heritage (inheritance) of those that fear Your name.
61:8 So will I sing praise unto Your name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows (H5088- promises).
Psalm 63:11 But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth (H7650) by Him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
Psalm 65:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm and Song of David. Praise waiteth for You, O God, in Zion: and unto You shall the vow (H5088- promise) be performed (completed).
Psalm 66:13 I will go into Your house with burnt offerings: I will pay You my vows (H5088- promises),
66:14 Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.

Psalm 77:8 Is His mercy clean gone for ever? doth His promise (H562- word) fail for evermore?
Psalm 89:3 I have made a covenant with My chosen, I have sworn (H7650) unto David My servant,
89:4 Your seed will I establish for ever, and build up your throne to all generations. Selah.
89:35 Once have I sworn (H7650) by My holiness that I will not lie unto David.
Yahweh will always keep His Davidic covenant. His throne will be everlasting.
Psalm 95:10 Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known My ways:
95:11 Unto whom I sware (H7650) in My wrath that they should not enter into My rest.
Even though Yahweh's oath with Abraham will always leave a remnant of each tribe of Israel, those that will not learn His ways will receive the curse of the oath. (Num 14:20-23, Deut 1:34-36, 12:9-10, Heb 4:3)
Psalm 102:8 Mine (hated) enemies reproach (taunt) me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn (H7650) against me.
Psalm 105:9 Which covenant He made with Abraham, and His oath (H7621- oath, curse) unto Isaac;
105:10 And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:
105:42 For He remembered His holy promise (H1697- word), and Abraham His servant.
The oath was His word, and His law, and if we break it, His curse against us.
Psalm 110:4 Yahweh hath sworn (H7650), and will not repent (change His mind), You art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
David was a king and priest of the order of Melchizedek. Melchizedek is a preacher of righeousness. Adam was the first, Noah was the eighth, Abraham paid tithes to Melchizedek (at that time Nahor). The order, or office of Melchizedek went from the oldest living patriarch to the next, until the Levitical priesthood. Later on, after Christ came and died, the priesthood expired and He became our High Priest of the order (office) of Melchizedek. Our everlasting preacher of righteousness.
Psalm 116:14,18 I will pay my vows (H5088- promises) unto Yahweh now in the presence of all His people.
Psalm 119:105 NUN.(Fourteenth Hebrew letter) Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Psalm 132:2 How he (David) sware (H7650) unto Yahweh, and vowed (H5087- promised) unto the mighty God of Jacob;
132:11 Yahweh hath sworn (H7650) in truth unto David; He will not turn from it; Of the fruit of your body will I set upon your throne.
-An unrighteous person who makes an oath, make a curse on himself.
-The Psalms repeat the Davidic covenant. Queen Elizabeth II is of the fruit of David.
Proverbs 7:14 I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows (H5088- promises).
Proverbs 20:25 It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows (H5088- promises) to make enquiry.
Septuagint: 25 It is a snare to a man hastily to consecrate some of his own property: for in that case repentance comes after vowing.

Septuagint: 31:3 When a man loves wisdom, his father rejoices: but he that keeps harlots will waste wealth.
Ecclesiastes 5:4 When you vowest (H5087- promise) a vow (H5088- promise) unto God, defer not to pay it; for He hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which you hast vowed (H5087- promised).
5:5 Better is it that you shouldest not vow (H5087- promise), than that you shouldest vow (H5087- promise) and not pay.
Ecclesiastes 8:2 I counsel you to keep the king's commandment, and that in regard of the oath (H7621- oath, curse) of God.
Septuagint: 2 Observe the commandment of the king, and that because of the word of the oath of God.
Ecclesiastes 9:2 All things come alike to all: there is one event (death) to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth (H7650), as he that feareth an oath (H7621- curse).
Isaiah 3:6 When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:
3:7 In that day shall he swear (H5375- answer), saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.
3:8 For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against Yahweh, to provoke the eyes of His glory.
3:9 The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.
Gay parades, pornography, gambling, mixed race marriages, we live in an open unrighteous society. The ideal society of Canaanite and Edomite Jews.
3:10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
Ecclessiastes 8:12 Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before Him:
Psalm 128:2 For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
3:11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
Psalm 11:6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.
3:12 As for My people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O My people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.
Genesis 3:17 And unto Adam He said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
3:13 Yahweh standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.
As all the other books begin, so does Isaiah. The path of the oath is obedience and righteousness. The results are blessings and favor. When we break the oath and disobey, the oath becomes our curse. We lose the presence and protection of Yahweh.
Chapter 14 is about the doom of Babylon.
Isaiah 14:24 Yahweh of hosts hath sworn (H7650), saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:
H7650 is the 7x oath, the sacred oath. Yahweh keeps His oaths. Babylon back then did fall, and Mystery Babylon, which is now, will also most certainly fall.
Chapter 19 is the doom of Egypt.
Egypt was originally a white Hamitic nation. Descendants of Noah's son Ham. Race mixing with Canaanites, Edomites, and Negroes turned them into what we now see today. The very word 'arab' means to grow dark, mix. The Hamites were consumed through race mixing.
Isaiah 19:14 Yahweh hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.
19:18 In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear (H7650) to Yahweh of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.
19:19 In that day shall there be an altar to Yahweh in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to Yahweh.
Exodus 24:4 And Moses wrote all the words of Yahweh, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
This was when all Israel swore to obey Yahweh's commandments. The Law.
19:20 And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto Yahweh of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto Yahweh because of the oppressors, and He shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and He shall deliver them.
19:21 And Yahweh shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know Yahweh in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow (H5087- promise) a vow (H5088- a promise) unto Yahweh, and perform it.
19:22 And Yahweh shall smite Egypt: He shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to Yahweh, and He shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.
It appears Isaiah is speaking of the past (Hamitic to race-mixed), present (doomed, Hamites absorbed), and future (restoration) of Egypt. The original Genesis 10 nations of Adam returning to their lands.
Isaiah 45:23 I have sworn (H7650) by Myself, the word is gone out of My mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear (H7650).
This next verse is about today's Judeo-Christians. First of all, they don't even know that they (if they are white), are the true descendants of Jacob, and not 'Gentiles' as they've been taught. And that the Jews are descendants of Cain and of Esau, and are NOT Israelites. Second, that these Judeo's don't even know the name of God. And third, are cursing themselves every Sunday with ignorance!
Isaiah 48:1 Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear (H7650) by the name of Yahweh, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.
Ignorance binds you to the curse. Knowledge and understanding and true allegiance (faith) binds you to the blessings of the covenant.
Isaiah 54:7 For a small moment have I forsaken you; but with great mercies will I gather you.
Because our ancestors broke the covenant with Yahweh, they were divorced, cast off, punished by invading nations and carried off. But His commitment to His oath includes mercy, because of His promise to Abraham. He kept His oath to gather and reconcile the children of Jacob when Yahshua Christ came.
54:8 In a little wrath I hid My face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith Yahweh thy Redeemer. Christ come in the flesh, our Kinsman Redeemer.
54:9 For this is as the waters of Noah unto Me: for as I have sworn (H7650) that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn (H7650) that I would not be wroth with you, nor rebuke you.
He will never break His promise to Abraham. He will always provide a path for us to return to Him.
The Redeemed of Yahweh
Isaiah 62:1 For Zion's sake will I not hold My peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.
Zion represents righteous government. Jerusalem represents the children of Israel.
The oath with Abraham and with our ancestors at Sinai sets the stage for our duty as Israelites. We were chosen to be the administration of the Kingdom. To build and establish righteousness. When we are obedient to the covenant, we do just that. When we disobey, we help destroy what we've built and we are cursed. Yahweh will see to it that our purpose and duty is performed.
62:8 Yahweh hath sworn (H7650) by His right hand, and by the arm of His strength, Surely I will no more give your corn to be meat for your enemies; and the sons of the stranger (alien) shall not drink your wine, for the which you hast laboured:
62:9 But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise Yahweh; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of My holiness.
62:10 Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people.
Through the gates is a reference to the mountain path (Dariel Pass) in which the children of Israel migrated into Europe. Through the Caucusus Mountains.
62:11 Behold, Yahweh hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with Him, and his work before Him.
The Reformation and the birth of America were the last great progresses of a Righteous Kingdom being built. Now every white nation is race-mixed, polluted, consumed and defiled. Satan's children (the Jews) are running the whole show. We are not a Christian nation anymore.
When we break the covenant with Yahweh, we support the seed of the serpent, our adversaries. We also become cursed.
Isaiah 65:11 But ye are they that forsake Yahweh, that forget My holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number.
Septuagint: 11 But ye are they that have left Me, and forget My holy mountain, and prepare a table for the devil, and fill up the drink-offering to Fortune.
That troop and that number are the enemies of Yahweh. This is a condemnation to those that feed the beast, that support and go along with the enemy.
See the foolish virgins that left Yahweh and were found in the market supporting the beast system in Matthew 25.
65:12 Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before Mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not.
2Chronicles 36:15 And Yahweh God of their fathers sent to them by His messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because He had compassion on His people, and on His dwelling place:
16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised His words, and misused His prophets, until the wrath of Yahweh arose against His people, till there was no remedy.
Proverbs 1:24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out My hand, and no man regarded;
65:13 Therefore thus saith Yahweh GOD, Behold, My servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, My servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, My servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed:
65:14 Behold, My servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.
Matthew 8:12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Luke 13:28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
65:15 And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto My chosen: for Yahweh GOD shall slay thee, and call His servants by another name:
65:16 That he who blesseth (to kneel, praise, salute) himself in the earth shall bless himself (kneel, praise, salute) in the God of truth; and he that sweareth (H7650) in the earth shall swear (H7650) by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from Mine eyes.
When we do this, our former troubles (curses, afflictions) are forgotten, we are back in the covenant.
In Isaiah we see:
-Isaiah begins with a reminder and warning of the blessings and curses of our oath with Yahweh.
-Yahweh declares Egypt doomed for race-mixing.
-Isaiah warns the Israelites that trusted in false teaching and idolatry that they were violating the oath. Today's Judeo-Christianity is doing just that.
-Yahweh affirms His oath of mercy and promise to Abraham.
-The curses of the oath are forgotten when we kneel to and praise the covenant with Yahweh.
Jeremiah 4:1 If you wilt return, O Israel, saith Yahweh, return unto Me: and if you wilt put away your abominations out of My sight, then shalt you not remove (wander).
4:2 And you shalt swear (H7650), Yahweh liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in Him, and in Him shall they glory.
Turn back to Yahweh and the covenant and be blessed. If not, be cursed.
Jeremiah 5:2 And though they say, Yahweh liveth; surely they swear (H7650) falsely.
Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny Him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
5:7 How shall I pardon you for this? your children have forsaken Me, and sworn (H7650) by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses.
The covenant with Yahweh is the same back then as now. They worshiped idols and gods back then, today we worship different denominations, which are also gods. A Jewish Jesus is a false god. Easter is the worship of the goddess Diana. Christmas is pagan, and not the birthday of Christ. Sports, movies and rock stars are idols. We are in total violation of our oath.
Jeremiah 7:9 Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear (H7650) falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not;
7:10 And come and stand before Me in this house, which is called by My name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?
Ezekiel 23:39 For when they had slain their children to their idols, then they came the same day into My sanctuary to profane it; and, lo, thus have they done in the midst of Mine house.
People swear falsely by God all the time. Every Sunday is the worst day for Yahweh, because most all of His people are sitting in their own 'pew' worshiping a Jewish Jesus and supporting false doctrine. No wonder America is decaying. More “churches” than anytime in history, more deception than ever.
Jeremiah 11:3 And say you unto them, Thus saith Yahweh God of Israel; Cursed be the man that obeyeth not the words of this covenant,
Deuteronomy 27:26 Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.
11:4 Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey My voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall ye be My people, and I will be your God:
11:5 That I may perform the oath (H7621- declaration) which I have sworn (H7650) unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. Then answered I, and said, So be it, O Yahweh.
This oath with our fathers did not end when Christ came, and get transferred to some “church” of people. This oath was a declaration and promise that we true Israelites will perform our duties as will Yahweh in blessing us when we follow the oath. If not we are cursed, as verse 3 states.
Chapter 12 is a plea of Yahweh to the children of Israel.
Jeremiah 12:10 Many pastors (shepherds) have destroyed My vineyard (people), they have trodden My portion under foot, they have made My pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.
Today's “churches” have destroyed His people with false Jewish doctrine.
12:16 And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of My people, to swear (H7650) by My name, Yahweh liveth; as they taught My people to swear (H7650) by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of My people.
Referring to the returning Judahites from Babylonian captivity that will follow Yahweh's Ways and not the ways of Baal. That's why the House of Judah was taken into captivity, to purge the evil pastors. Yahweh just wants us to return to Him and our covenant with Him.
Note: Baal is where we get the title 'LORD'. Lord is not God's name.
Jeremiah 22:3 Thus saith Yahweh; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.
22:5 But if ye will not hear these words, I swear (H7650) by Myself, saith Yahweh, that this house shall become a desolation.
Verse 3 lists some of the requirements of the great oath with Yahweh. Verse 5 states the curse of not performing the obligations of the oath.
Jeremiah 23:10 For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing (H423- the act of swearing) the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right.
23:11 For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in My house have I found their wickedness, saith Yahweh.
The land is of course the lands of the children of Israel, which would be blessed had they kept the oath. Nothing is going right, as verse 10 states because of straying from the laws of the oath.
Jeremiah 32:22 And hast given them this land, which You didst swear (H7650) to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;
32:42 For thus saith Yahweh; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised (H1696- spoken to) them.
The blessings and curses of the oath.
Jeremiah 33:14 Behold, the days come, saith Yahweh, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised (H1696- declared) unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.
Yahweh is assuring that they will return after the Babylonian captivity.
Jeremiah 38:16 So Zedekiah the king sware (H7650) secretly unto Jeremiah, saying, As Yahweh liveth, that made us this soul, I will not put you to death, neither will I give you into the hand of these men that seek your life.
38:17 Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah, Thus saith Yahweh, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; If thou wilt assuredly go forth unto the king of Babylon's princes, then thy soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and thou shalt live, and thine house:
38:18 But if thou wilt not go forth to the king of Babylon's princes, then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and thou shalt not escape out of their hand.
Jeremiah lays out the results of 2 choices. Blessings or curses.
Zedekiah later breaks his oath with Nebuchadnezzar and pays for it. (39:6-8)
Jeremiah 40:9 And Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan sware (H7650) unto them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.
Gedaliah was put in charge by the Babylonians. Yahweh told the House of Judah that they were going to be punished, and to accept it and He will preserve them through it.
Jeremiah 44:25 Thus saith Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows (H5088- promises) that we have vowed (H508- promised), to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows (H5087- promises), and surely perform your vows (H5088- promises).
44:26 Therefore hear ye the word of Yahweh, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn (H7650) by My great name, saith Yahweh, that My name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, Yahweh GOD liveth.
44:27 Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.
The queen of heaven is a reference to Ishtar (Diana), an Assyrian and Babylonian goddess. Where we get Easter from. When we worship other gods and vow to them, we are cursing ourselves and as verse 27 states, the curse brings death.
Many of the Israelites tried to escape to Egypt from the punishment of Yahweh, only to die.
In chapter 49, starting with verse 7 is a prophecy against Edom.
Edom are the descendants of Esau that race mixed with the descendants of Cain.
These are the Jews. These later infiltrated the sect of the Pharisees. These Edomites murdered our Prince.
Jeremiah 49:13 For I have sworn (H7650) by myself, saith Yahweh, that Bozrah (place in Edom) shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.
Obadiah gives great detail to the fate of Edom. The Jews are not Israel. How could they be if Yahweh cursed Cain, hated Esau and sworn to destroy them? Entirely, when He returns. HalleluYAH!
Chapter 51 is about the declaration that Yahweh will rise up against Babylon.
Jeremiah 51:14 Yahweh of hosts hath sworn (H7650) by Himself, saying, Surely I will fill you with men, as with caterpillers; and they shall lift up a shout against you.
Ancient Babylon has fallen and is to this day desolate.
Mystery Babylon has not fallen yet, but will when Christ returns.
The Jews are Mystery Babylon, because the world has been deceived into believing that they are God's people. They rule over us with their commerce and banking, unjust weights and measures and doctrine of Judaism. Indeed they will fall and become a desolation, just as promised by Yahweh.
In Jeremiah we see oaths and promises, and the results:
-Jeremiah begins with a warning to return to the oath and be preserved through the coming punishment.
-People swear unto gods they know not.
-Cursed is the man who obeys not the words of the covenant.
-Yahweh pleas with the children of Israel to return to Him and not to follow false preachers.
-Even the land is cursed when an oath is broken. Part of the covenant is to keep the land Sabbaths.
-Yahweh repeats that He will perform the blessings and the curses of oaths.
-Zedekiah breaks his oath with Nebuchadnezzar and pays for it.
-Making vows to other gods is a curse unto death.
-Yahweh swears to utterly destroy Edom. Edom are those that say they are Jews (Judah) and are not.
Ezekiel 16:8 Now when I passed by you, and looked upon you, behold, your time was the time of love; and I spread My skirt over you, and covered your nakedness (shame, improper behavior): yea, I sware (H7650) unto you, and entered into a covenant with you, saith Yahweh GOD, and you becamest Mine.
This happened at Sinai.
16:59 For thus saith Yahweh GOD; I will even deal with you as you hast done, which hast despised the oath (H423- of the covenant) in breaking the covenant.
16:60 Nevertheless I will remember My covenant with you in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto you an everlasting covenant.
Jeremiah 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith Yahweh, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Notice it does not say “with the “church” or with the other races”. And never does.
Ezekiel 17 is about the eagles and the cedar.
Ezekiel 17:1 And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying,
17:2 Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable unto the house of Israel;
17:3 And say, Thus saith Yahweh GOD; A great eagle with great wings, longwinged, full of feathers, which had divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took the highest branch of the cedar:
This great eagle is Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. He carried king Jehoiachin of Judah off into captivity in Babylon, and set his brother Zedekiah in his place, in Jerusalem.
The people in captivity that accepted their punishment flourished.
17:7 There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers: and, behold, this vine did bend her roots toward him, and shot forth her branches toward him, that he might water it by the furrows of her plantation.
This represents the princes of Judah looking to the pharaoh of Egypt for salvation.
17:8 It was planted in a good soil by great waters, that it might bring forth branches, and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a goodly vine.
17:9 Say thou, Thus saith Yahweh GOD; Shall it prosper? shall he not pull up the roots thereof, and cut off the fruit thereof, that it wither? it shall wither in all the leaves of her spring, even without great power or many people to pluck it up by the roots thereof. (2 Ki 25:7)
The ones that tried to relocate to Egypt made a big mistake, as Yahweh promised it would be.
17:10 Yea, behold, being planted, shall it prosper? shall it not utterly wither, when the east wind toucheth it? it shall wither in the furrows where it grew.
The east wind is the famous Sirocco of the middle east. A very hot and dry wind that parches everything. Also may be a reference to the race mixing that eventually bred the white race out of existence. The original Egyptians (Ham) were white. The original Arabs (Ishmael) were white.
17:11 Moreover the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying,
17:12 Say now to the rebellious house, Know ye not what these things mean? tell them, Behold, the king of Babylon is come to Jerusalem, and hath taken the king thereof, and the princes thereof, and led them with him to Babylon;
17:13 And hath taken of the king's seed, and made a covenant with him, and hath taken an oath (H423- of covenant) of him: he hath also taken the mighty of the land:
17:14 That the kingdom might be base, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping of his covenant it might stand.
Zedekiah was 'of the king's seed'. The eagle of verse 3, Nebuchadnezzar, made a covenant with Jehoiakin's brother Zedekiah, the other eagle of verse 7.
17:15 But he (Zedekiah) rebelled against him (Nebuchadnezzar) in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and much people. Shall he prosper? shall he escape that doeth such things? or shall he break the covenant (with Nebuchadnezzar) , and be delivered?
17:16 As I live, saith Yahweh GOD, surely in the place where the king dwelleth that made him king, whose oath (H423- of covenant) he despised, and whose covenant he brake, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.
17:18 Seeing he despised the oath (H423- of covenant) by breaking the covenant, when, lo, he had given his hand, and hath done all these things, he shall not escape.
17:19 Therefore thus saith Yahweh GOD; As I live, surely Mine oath (H423- of covenant) that he hath despised, and My covenant that he hath broken, even it will I recompense upon his own head.
Zedekiah made an oath with Nebuchadnezzar. He broke it. Zedekiah is a king of the tribe of Judah, an Israelite and therefore an Adamite, which is of the race of the family of Yahweh. When we make an oath, vow or promise to Yahweh, we are witnesses and examples of the family. Yahweh's word is never broken. When we use His name, and break the word or vow, we will have to answer for it, and perform the obligations that bind us to it. If we don't, that oath, vow or promise becomes a curse.
Ezekiel 21:21 For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.
The pagan priests thought that they could slay an animal and sacrifice it, and analyzing the liver they would give good or bad tidings.
21:22 At his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to appoint captains, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to appoint battering rams against the gates, to cast a mount, and to build a fort.
21:23 And it shall be unto them as a false divination in their sight, to them that have sworn (H7650- adjured) oaths (H7621- something adjured): but He will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.
Adjure is also defined as conjure, summon with solemnity (a ritual).
In Ezekiel we saw:
-Yahweh remind the children of Israel that they have a covenant with Him. He also reveals He will make a new covenant with them, which later was reconciliation to Christ.
-Zedekiah is an example of oaths becoming curses.
-An oath can be adjuring, or conjuring, summoning through ritual. An evil pagan practice.
Daniel 9:11 Yea, all Israel have transgressed Your law, even by departing, that they might not obey Your voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath (H7621- which was sworn) that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against Him.
The oath we made with Yahweh is a blessing if we obey, and a curse if we don't.
Daniel 12:7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware (H7650) by Him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
Hosea 4:1 Hear the word of Yahweh, ye children of Israel: for Yahweh hath a controversy with the
inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
The national consciousness is manipulated when “truth” becomes whatever is politically expedient and therefore it is not really truth at all. This is why the apostle James warned us to despise the rich men of the world, who only sought to use their wealth so that they could rule over us and enslave us even further. One means of captivating us today is to use their wealth in order to purchase our academic and religious institutions and corrupt them so that they now teach what is politically expedient for the wealthy, rather than what is true and beneficial for the people. Jeroboam was the first king of the House of Israel after the ten tribes had broken away from the rule of the House of Judah. The first thing he did was change religious “truth” for reason of political expedience, as described at 1 Kings 12:26-33
Jeroboam perverted the whole nation, so that he could maintain political control. Here in America, in 1913 with the Federal Reserve Act and related legislation, we handed over control of the economy of our nation to the international bankers, nearly all of whom happen to be Jewish. Today, a hundred years later, all so-called “Christian” churches are really peddling the political desires of their Jewish masters, and packaging them as truths in support of the false gods of Judaism.
4:2 By swearing (H422- cursing), and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
Willful wickedness.
These are the sins of the land which resulted from a departure from the commandments of Yahweh, and a turn to immoral paganism. The change of religion results in a change in the moral codices of the nation, and then a change in the behaviour of the people themselves.
The Masoretic (KJV) text here, at the end of the verse, has the phrase “and blood toucheth blood”. In the Hebrew, the word blood here appears in the plural.
Many times in Hebrew, the word for blood appears in the plural, and it is an idiomatic use of the word representing the idea of bloodshed. The context wherever the word for blood appears in the plural in the Old Testament is quite clear in that regard, that it refers to bloodshed, except here in this one verse. In this verse, it is clear from the context that the phrase “and blood toucheth blood” is related not to the sin of murder mentioned earlier in the passage, but rather to the sin of adultery which it follows. The Septuagint agrees with this assessment, and translates the passage a little more clearly, where Brenton somewhat accurately renders the Greek: “Cursing, and lying, and murder, and theft, and adultery abound in the land, and they mingle blood with blood.”
The mingling of blood with blood is not bloodshed here. Rather, it is a reference to adultery: the mingling of blood with blood is the result of race-mixing, and that too is tantamount to bloodshed because it destroys a race. Race-mixing is what happens when the children of Israel forsake the commandment of their God to be a separate people, and go following after the strange gods and the intercourse in trade and culture with the other nations and races. In the case of ancient Israel, it was mostly the Canaanites which were the focus of concern. Today it is expanded to include all of the world's non-White races as well.
4:15 Though you, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Bethaven, nor swear (H7650), Yahweh liveth.
1Kings 12:29 And he (Jeroboam) set the one (calves) in Bethel, and the other put he in Dan. (Golden calves)
Israel was to be sent out of the land for their sins, and by this time there was no way to avoid that fate.
Hosea 10:1 Israel is an empty vine, he bringeth forth fruit unto himself: according to the multitude
of his fruit he hath increased the altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made
goodly images.
Nahum 2:2 For Yahweh hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.
Israel is an empty vine. This allegory is much like the one we see concerning Israel in Isaiah chapter 56, which uses the allegory of a dry tree.
10:2 Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: He shall break down their altars, He shall spoil their images.
1Kings 18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if Yahweh be God, follow Him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.
Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
10:3 For now they shall say, We have no king, because we feared not Yahweh; what then should a king do to us?
10:4 They have spoken words, swearing (H422- adjuring) falsely in making a covenant: thus judgment springeth up as hemlock (a weed) in the furrows of the field.
In 2 Samuel 8 it is described how the children of Israel, who had God for their king, wanted earthly kings, like the surrounding nations had. Yahweh warned them of much of the treachery that earthly kings would do, and they did not heed His warning, persisting in their own devices. Here in Hosea we see that earthly kings would make false oaths, treacherous covenants, and judgment would come because of those things.
Amos 4:2 Yahweh GOD hath sworn (H7650) by His holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that He will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.
A reference to the Assyrian invasion and deportation starting in 745BC. This was the divorce, because the bride (children of Israel) broke the covenant with Yahweh repeatedly.
Amos 6:8 Yahweh GOD hath sworn (H7650) by himself, saith Yahweh the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein.
Amos 8:7 Yahweh hath sworn (H7650) by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works.
The judgment which Amos has pronounced upon Israel would not be repented of. Mercy would not be granted. The punishment shall be executed.
8:14 They that swear (H7650) by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beersheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise up again.
Dan represents the northernmost, Beersheba southernmost of the cities of Israel.
Jonah 1:14 Wherefore they cried unto Yahweh, and said, We beseech Thee, O Yahweh, we beseech Thee, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for Thou, O Yahweh, hast done as it pleased Thee.
Even though Jonah asked the men to throw him overboard, they did not want to be responsible for his death, and they made every effort to get him to land, before they finally relented.
1:15 So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging.
1:16 Then the men feared Yahweh exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto Yahweh, and made vows (H5088- promises, votive offerings).
VOTIVE, a. Given by vow; devoted; as votive offerings.
v.t.
1. To call to witness; to obtest.
2. To declare; to affirm; to attest; to warrant; to maintain by affirmations.
3. To warrant; to confirm; to establish proof.
Jonah 2:9 But I will sacrifice unto you with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed (H5087- promised). Salvation is of Yahweh.
2:10 And Yahweh spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
In chapter 4 we see that Jonah is angry that Yahweh preserves Nineveh.
There is some history which must be understood, to understand why this was so. It is evident from his mention in 2 Kings chapter 14 that Jonah the prophet conducted his ministry some time in the latter part of the 9th to the early part of the 8th centuries BC. It is during this very time that Assyria, having arisen as a great empire, began to threaten the existence of Israel and Judah as sovereign states.
Jonah, of course, would have loved to have seen Yahweh prevent this inevitable Assyrian conquest, since the intent of Assyria must have been evident in his own time.
Micah 7:18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He retaineth not His anger for ever, because He delighteth in mercy.
7:19 He will turn again, He will have compassion upon us; He will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
7:20 You wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which You hast sworn (H7650) unto our fathers from the days of old.
Yahweh will always keep His promise. That we will perform the duty we were chosen to do. He will always provide a path. The path of obedience leads to mercy and blessings. The path of disobedience leads to curses, destruction and death.
Nahum 1:15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep your solemn feasts, perform your vows (H5088- promises): for the wicked shall no more pass through you; he is utterly cut off.
The reference to the wicked who “shall no more pass through thee” is not a reference to sinful people, although it may be prophetic of that if Judah had indeed repented and continued in the ways of Yahweh their God. But in the immediate context here it must be a reference to the Assyrians themselves, who in the opening of this prophecy were explicitly called the adversaries and enemies of Yahweh.
Habakkuk 3:9 Thy bow was made quite naked, according to the oaths (H7621- swearing) of the tribes, even your word. Selah. Thou didst cleave the earth with rivers.
Rivers are symbolic of peoples. Earth comes from erets, meaning land, territory, nations.
When we cleave to the other nations and races, and make oaths with them, we become naked. We chose them instead of Yahweh. We break our oath and become cursed.
Zephaniah starts out with a pissed off Yahweh. Why wouldn't He be?
Zephaniah 1:2 I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith Yahweh.
1:4 I will also stretch out Mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;
The Chemarims are said to be the assistants of the Baal priests.
1:5 And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear (H7650) by Yahweh, and that swear (H7650) by Malcham;
Malcham is the god of the Ammonites. The Hebrew word is melek, which means king.
The constant idol worship and race mixing pushed Yahweh to divorce the children of Israel and cast them off into punishment. But He will never cast us off forever because of His promises.
Zechariah 5:3 Then said he (the angel) unto me, This is the curse (H423- imprecation) that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth (H7650) shall be cut off as on that side according to it.
The Septuagint has: 3 And he said to me, This is the curse that goes forth over the face of the whole earth: for every thief shall be punished with death on this side, and every false swearer shall be punished on that side.
The Geneva has: 3 Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the whole earth: for every one that stealeth, shall be cut off aswell on this side, as on that: and every one that sweareth, shall be cut off aswell on this side, as on that.
5:4 I will bring it forth, saith Yahweh of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth (H7650) falsely by My name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.
This verse 4 is a serious verse.
Leviticus 19:12 And ye shall not swear by My name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am Yahweh.
Today's “churches” only know Him as a title. They may think they know who they are calling upon, but a title is not specific. God can be any god. The Greeks had hundreds, so did the Vikings. Lord is just a medieval title for master. It also is the title for Satan, known as Baal. So when you call Yahweh “Lord”, you are calling on the name of Baal. Some don't think this matters. But Yahweh demands we use His name over 100 times in the Bible. Yahweh is His name. I AM. The original Hebrew shows it as YHWH because there are no vowels in Hebrew. There is POWER in His name.
Zechariah 8:17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath (H7621- false attesting): for all these are things that I hate, saith Yahweh.
Chapter 1 of Malachi, Yahweh is speaking about the Edomite Jew priests that have crept into the Levitical priesthood. This also includes those Levites that followed the practices of the Edomites.
These Edomite Jew priests taught that the name of God, Yahweh, was to holy to speak. This is because they know that the name of our God has power. Today, their efforts have worked because we call Him Lord, which is NOT His name, but the name of the Jews God Baal.
Malachi 1:6 A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is Mine honour? and if I be a master, where is My fear? saith Yahweh of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise My name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?
Less than unblemished sacrifices will not be accepted.
1:12 But ye have profaned it (His name, Yahweh), in that ye say, The table of Yahweh is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even His meat, is contemptible (disregarded, slighted). (Verses 6-7)
1:13 Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith Yahweh of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith Yahweh.
1Corinthians 9:13 Do you not know that those which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they attending at the altar are partakers with the altar?
1:14 But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth (H5087- promise), and sacrificeth unto Yahweh a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith Yahweh of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen.
The priesthood was not to sacrifice the blemished. Yahweh deserves the best.
John the Baptist was a Levite and was sent by Yahweh to cleanse the Levitical priesthood (v3) and prepare the final sacrifice (Christ). The priesthood needed to be cleansed because the Jews had infiltrated and replaced it with their 'traditions of men', or Judaism. The Levitical priesthood expired when Christ died, but before it could, John was sent to cleanse them with his water baptism. Now Christ is our High priest and true baptism is immersion in the word with knowledge and understanding. Water does not provide this, and no man can do this for you.
Malachi 3:5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers (H7650), and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith Yahweh of hosts.
Verse 5 is speaking of the Jews and their ways.
Zechariah 5:4 I will bring it forth, saith Yahweh of hosts, and it (His curse) shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by My name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.
James 5:4 Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of Yahweh of sabaoth.
3:6 For I am Yahweh, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
We deserve death for our disobedience and whoredom to Yahweh. Since Yahweh keeps His word, He honors His promise to Abraham.
Christ came to fulfill the promises by dying for us so we may remarry Him, if we act like a bride of righteousness.
All these OT prophets reveal that Yahweh's rod of punishment comes in the form of the Assyrians, Babylonians, and the Jews. When we break our covenant with Him, we become cursed and the cursed seed children are allowed to afflict us because we are not blessed. When we obey, we are blessed and these enemies cannot harm us.
The OT proves that oaths, vows, swearing and promises come with two rewards. One of blessings for keeping our oaths, and one of curses for breaking our vows.
Now let's examine the NT, which is just a continuation of the same laws, the same people, the same heritage, the same promises and covenants, and the same God. Nothing changes.
Matthew 5:33 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear (G1964- commit perjury, swear falsely) thyself, but shalt perform unto Yahweh your oaths (G3727- that which was promised):
5:34 But I say unto you, Swear (G3660- promise) not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
5:36 Neither shalt you swear (G3660- promise, invoke) by your head, because you canst not make one hair white or black.
5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
It is not Christian to swear or make oaths. We do not have any power to guarantee them.
Christ is the authority, and He plainly states that we should not swear or promise at all.
Matthew 14:3 For Herod (Antipas) had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife.
14:4 For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.
14:5 And when he (Herod) would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him (John) as a prophet.
14:6 But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod.
14:7 Whereupon he promised (G3670- agreed, assented) with an oath (G3727- a pledge) to give her whatsoever she would ask. Mark 6:23
14:8 And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger.
14:9 And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's (G3727- pledge's) sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her. Mark 6:26
Matthew 23:1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to His disciples,
23:2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
The seat of Moses is the seat of authority in Judaea. Christ is warning His flock about the children of darkness (Jews) who have infiltrated the (Levitical) priesthood.
23:3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
Christ was calling out the Pharisee Jews and their 'traditions of men'. What they have been teaching the people instead of what scripture says.
23:16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear (G3660- promise) by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
23:17 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?
Exodus 30:26 And thou shalt anoint (with the holy anointing oil) the tabernacle of the congregation therewith, and the ark of the testimony,
30:29 And thou shalt sanctify them, that they may be most holy: whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy.
23:18 And, (they also say) Whosoever shall swear (G3660- promise) by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth (G3660- promise) by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.
23:19 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?
Exodus 29:37 Seven days thou shalt make an atonement for the altar, and sanctify it; and it shall be an altar most holy: whatsoever toucheth the altar shall be holy.
23:20 Whoso therefore shall swear (G3660-promise) by the altar, sweareth (G3660- promise) by it, and by all things thereon.
23:21 And whoso shall swear (G3660- promise) by the temple, sweareth (G3660- promise) by it, and by Him that dwelleth therein.
23:22 And he that shall swear (G3660- promise) by heaven, sweareth (G3660- promise) by the throne of God, and by Him that sitteth thereon.
In verses 20-22, Yahshua Christ sets the record straight. We have no ground to swear anything except allegiance to Yahweh.
Matthew 26:70 But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.
26:72 And again he denied with an oath (G3660- declare), I do not know the man.
26:74 Then began he to curse and to swear (G3660- affirm), saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew. Mark 14:71
26:75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny Me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
Mark 14:11 And when they (the Jewish priests) heard it, they were glad, and promised (G1861- asserted) to give him (Judas) money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray Him.
Luke 1:68 Blessed be Yahweh God of Israel; for He hath visited and redeemed His people,
1:69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation (preservation) for us in the house of His servant David;
David was of the tribe of Judah, as is Christ, and up through to Queen Elizabeth II.
1:70 As He spake by the mouth of His holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
Jeremiah 23:5 Behold, the days come, saith Yahweh, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. (Dan 9:24)
1:71 That we should be saved (preserved) from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;
1:72 To perform the mercy promised to (G3326- with) our fathers, and to remember His holy covenant;
Italicized words are words added by the translators.
G3326 is for the word 'to', Often used in composition, in substantially the same relations of participation or proximity, and transfer or sequence.
The participation, transfer and sequence have to do with the same covenant that covers the fathers of the past as well as their descendants of the present and future.
The Greek has: 72 To bring about mercy with our fathers and to call into remembrance His holy covenant,
1:73 The oath which He sware (G3727- that which has been promised with an oath) to our father Abraham,
1:74 That He would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve Him without fear,
1:75 In holiness and righteousness before Him, all the days of our life.
The original calling, the original promise and covenant to His people through Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The theme never changes. The oath still stands. We broke the oath, we deserve death, He provided a way for us to be preserved and ultimately delivered. That path is to return to the oath and covenant and that is done by following the example He sent us, which is Christ.
Luke 22:6 And he promised (G1843- acknowledged joyfully), and sought opportunity to betray Him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
Judas was thrilled to have made some money for betraying Christ. What a true Jew.
Mark's writer, a native Hebrew or Aramaic speaker, wrote the Greek word epaggello, where Luke wrote exomologeo. They both mean the same thing.
Mark was from Jerusalem, and Luke was a Greek. They were both Israelites from the tribe of Benjamin.
Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise (G1860- divine assurance) of My Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power (ability) from on high.
This is a promise of the events later realized in Acts chapter 2, of the Holy Spirit descending upon the apostles, and the ability given to them to speak in various languages, so that they could bring the gospel to the dispersed nations of Israel.
So far in the NT, in the gospels, regarding oaths and promises we see:
-Yahshua Christ says don't make oaths at all. Forswearing is committing perjury.
-Herod agreed to his pledge to the daughter of Herodias for the head of John.
-Christ teaches that we should not swear, not by the altar, temple or heaven.
-The gospels demonstrate that Yahweh affirms His covenant with the children of Israel. Past present and future Israelites. Nowhere does Yahweh change or replace the recipients of His promises and covenants with the other races or a “church”. The theme of the covenants are always with the children of Jacob. You have to know the history to know the mystery.
Part of the oaths and covenants involve the prophecies (OT) and fulfillment (NT) of those promises. Within the oaths, which are to a certain family (Yahweh's), are the paths that Yahweh provides for us to receive mercy and forgiveness, to not be destroyed by the curses of the oath. That path is Yahshua Christ. Our brother, our kinsman, our Prince, King and God. He showed us the example and model. We must imitate it.
Acts 1:1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus , of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
This was not an individual, it is a greeting, like 'Dear reader', it means Lover of Yahweh.
1:2 Until the day in which He was taken up, after that He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments unto the apostles whom He had chosen:
1:3 To whom also He shewed Himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: (Mark 16:14)
Not pertaining to “personal salvation” as the “churches” teach. The scriptures do not teach “personal salvation”.
1:4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise (G1860- divine assurance) of the Father, which, saith He, ye have heard of Me.
1:6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of Him, saying, Prince, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? (Matt 24:3)
Even the apostles did not understand what was really going on. They thought that Christ was going to restore and rule the kingdom then.
1:7 And He said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in His own power. (1 Thes 5:1)
1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Our duty as Israelites is to preach and build the kingdom of righteousness. By understanding and knowing the history of who we are, our 'election' and purpose, and that we are sworn with an oath to Yahweh and dedicated and devoted to Him and He us. If either break the oath, we become cursed. Yahweh will never break the covenant, but we do all the time. His mercy allows us a path back to Him.
The promise that they are waiting for in verse 4, is the promise to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, that Jacob/Israel's children are the 'chosen', 'called out', 'dedicated' people of Yahweh with one purpose. Preach the kingdom of Yahweh (Heaven, Righteousness). Be the 'city on the hill', the 'light of society (the world)'. Imitate the example of our Kinsman Redeemer and try our best to build the kingdom until He comes.
More confirmation that we are talking about a family, a race of people from Adam to Abraham to David to Christ. And even Queen Elizabeth II, who is not a Jew.
Acts 2:30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn (G3660- promised) with an oath (G3727- and pledged) to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that His soul was not left in hell (the grave), neither His is flesh did see corruption.
2:32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise (G1860- divine promise) of the Holy Spirit,He hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
2:39 For the promise (G1860- divine promises) is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as Yahweh our God shall call.
The oath is confirmed again. The covenant between Yahweh and the children of Israel. The promises, the prophecies of the fulfillment of those promises (and curses) of the oath, and here in the NT we see the oath fulfilled and still ongoing, to the same family of people, the children of Israel. The race of Adam. Nothing changes, no one else or “church” is added. The scriptures are the history and heritage of the family of Yahweh. Only Adam received the 'breath of life' (Spirit, DNA) of Yahweh.
Acts 7:5 And He (Yahweh) gave him none inheritance in it (Promised Land), no, not so much as to set his foot on: yet He promised (G1861- asserted, announced) that He would give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when as yet he had no child.
The promise to Abraham's seed was made before he had Isaac.
Acts 7:17 But when the time of the promise (G1860- announcement, act of promising) drew nigh, which God had sworn (G3660- affirmed) to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,
7:18 Till another king arose, which knew not Joseph.
When Joseph was second in command in Egypt, the Pharoah was Hamite or Shemite. Of the same race as Joseph. About 3 generations later, the Pharoah was a product of miscegenation, or race mixed with Canaanite blood. Hence, knew not Joseph, or his people.
The part of the promise made to Abraham was being demonstrated by Yahweh when He took the seed of Abraham by the hand out of Egypt (captivity).
Acts 13:14 But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue (assembly hall) on the sabbath day, and sat down.
13:15 And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue (assembly hall) sent unto them, saying, Ye men, brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.
13:16 Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, ye that fear God, give audience.
13:17 The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought He them out of it.
13:23 Of this man's (David's) seed hath God according to His promise (G1860- divine assurance) raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
According to the flesh. The flesh of Jacob/Israel, Abraham, Adam. Jesus is not a chameleon and black for the Negroes, yellow for the Chinese and brown for the Mexicans, or Jewish like the “churches” teach. The context is always the children of Israel.
13:32 And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise (G1860- divine assurance) which was made unto the fathers,
13:33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that He hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art My Son, this day have I begotten (G1080-engendered) thee.
Again, we see the Davidic covenant and the divine assurance of the promise with Abraham.
Acts 18:18 And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow (G2171- petition to God, votive obligation). (Num 6:18, Act 21:24)
Paul made a special vow of dedication and devotion to Yahweh.
Acts 21:19 And when he (Paul) had saluted them (James and the elders), he declared particularly what things God had wrought (performed) among the Gentiles (dispersed Nations of Israel) by his ministry.
21:20 And when they heard it, they glorified the Prince, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Judaeans there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:
21:21 And they are informed of you, that you teachest all the Judaeans which are among the Gentiles (Nations) to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.
21:22 What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that you art come.
21:23 Do therefore this that we say to you: We have four men which have a vow (G2171- petition to God) on them;
21:24 Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law. (Num 6:2,13,18)
21:25 As touching (concerning) the Gentiles (dispersed Nations) which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication (race mixing).
21:26 Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them.
21:27 And when the seven days were almost ended, the Judaeans (Jew agitators) which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,
21:28 Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law (rituals), and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.
The Greeks were of the dispersed Nations of Israel, and considered 'common' or profane by the Judaeans.
Paul was also teaching that the sacrificial rituals were not needed anymore, they were fulfilled by Christ.
If one had already made a vow, even in ignorance, they were to keep it, hence the men evidently went through with the circumcision.
The plot against Paul's life
Acts 23:19 Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went with him aside privately, and asked him, What is that thou hast to tell me?
23:20 And he (Paul's nephew) said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee that you wouldest bring down Paul to morrow into the council, as though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly.
23:21 But do not you yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath (G332- curse, devote to destruction), that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they ready, looking for a promise (G1860- assurance) from you.
In Acts chapter 23, after a plot against Paul's life was revealed to the Roman military tribune, Paul is sent under arms and cloak of night to the residence of the Roman procurator in Caesareia.
G332- anathematizo, to devote to destruction, to declare one's self liable to the severest divine penalties.
These Jews are always digging their graves deeper. 'His blood be upon us and our children', oath of betrayal by Judas, for money, oath of over 40 Jews to kill Paul.
Interesting: In...
1Corinthians 16:22 If any man love not the Prince Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.
Anathema is a Greek word meaning 'accursed', devoted to the direst of woes. A person or thing doomed to destruction.
Maranatha is a Hebrew word meaning 'the approaching judgment'. The return of our Prince.
It can mean 'until He cometh'.
Mara means 'to rebel'. Natha means 'tear out, overthrow'.
Anathema Maranatha- He must be accursed, a rebel (or he who is a rebel), to be destroyed.
Paul is on trial in front of Agrippa. He is stating his case.
Acts 26:6 And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise (G1860- divine assurance) made of God unto our fathers:
26:7 Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope (expectation) to come. For which hope's sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.
The promise of this seed can be traced from Gen 3:15, 22:18, and 26:4.
The expectation (hope) is what the obedient oath keeper will receive. The recipients can only be those who the oath was made to and with. As verse 7 states, the children of Jacob.
Just where do the “churches” read that everybody in the world gets in on the promises too?
Acts is a book of transition.
The Levitical priesthood and rituals expire and Christ becomes our High Priest.
The gospel is preached to the Israelites that lived outside Judaea.
The vision Peter had on the roof was Yahweh teaching him that the 'common' or uncircumcised people outside of Judaea were Israelites that forgot their heritage and identity. They were made clean by His blood also, and therefore needed to hear the gospel. Many habits and rituals had to be taught that they expired. Without the priesthood as a mediator, we must make spiritual sacrifices, on our own. The people did not understand right away what happened and what was going on. They didn't just stop the sacrifices right away. They continued baptism with water, not understanding that it's purpose was only for Christ, and cleansing the priesthood for the final sacrifice. Water does not give one anything. Knowledge and understanding of the word, history and heritage of our race and God is the immersion we must seek.
In Acts we saw:
-Acts begin with the original promise and oath of divine assurance to Abraham.
-The Davidic covenant is affirmed again along with the divine promise, which is related to the original promise.
-The promise to Abraham was made before Isaac was born.
-Stephen was giving a sermon on the history of Abraham to the very descendants of Abraham.
-The Exodus fulfilled part of the promise to the seed of Abraham.
-Paul addresses his brethren and reminds them of the divine assurance (oath).
-The Jews vow an oath of destruction to kill Paul.
Paul's message was Exclusive. The letter was not to the Romans, but to the “saints in Rome” (1:7) referring to the 'set apart or consecrated to Yahweh, 'called out' seed of Israel.
Rome was settled by the branch of Israelites of Zarah-Judah that left before the Exodus. There were also Israelites from all the tribes scattered across the Greco-Roman world. It was to these dispersed Israelites that Paul was sent by Christ.
Romans 1:1 Paul, a servant of Jesus (Yahshua) Christ, called to be an apostle (ambassador), separated unto the gospel of God (Yahweh),
Acts 9:15 But the Prince said unto him, Go thy way: for he (Paul) is a chosen vessel unto Me, to bear My name before the Nations and kings of the children of Israel: (1 Tim1:11)
1:2 (Which He had promised afore (G4279- to promise of old) by His prophets in the holy scriptures,)
1:3 Concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Prince, which was made of the seed of David according to (down through) the flesh; (Gal 4:4)
This is a lineal statement of ancestry, the same race, kin, and nation as David. The Davidic covenant. This was part of the promises made to Abraham.
Romans 4:13 For the promise (G1860- divine assurance), that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith (allegiance).
The promise to Abraham was given before the written law. The law was given at Mt Sinai (430 years later).
4:14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise (G1860- pledge) made of none effect:
Galatians 3:18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
4:15 Because the law worketh wrath (punishment): for where no law is, there is no transgression.
4:16 Therefore it is of faith (allegiance), that it might be by grace (favor); to the end the promise (G1860- divine assurance) might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith (allegiance) of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
4:19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead (old), when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: (Gen 17:17)
4:20 He staggered not at the promise (G1860- announcement) of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith (allegiance), giving glory to God;
4:21 And being fully persuaded that, what He had promised (G1861- announced), He was able also to perform.
Abraham did not have the written law. He had allegiance to The Way, which was the heritage and traditions of the race of Yahweh since Adam. Just like a dispersed Israelite that had no knowledge of the written law, but lived by the law of God in their heart, was still in allegiance (had faith).
Abraham believed what Yahweh promised him, even though he was old, even though he was about to sacrifice Isaac. He knew that no matter how, Yahweh would do what He said to him.
Romans 9:1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit,
While Christ means anointed, as in the Anointed One of Israel, the KJV translators should have rendered this 'I speak the truth among the Anointed,' referring to the group, the called out, or anointed seed of Abraham. Israelites (of the 12 tribes).
9:2 That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.
9:3 For I could wish that myself were accursed (banned) from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
Again Christ here should have been 'anointed'. Paul was banned from groups and assemblies of his brethren by the Edomite scribes and Pharisees, who wanted to keep their “traditions of men” (Mark 7:8, Col 2:8). Their version of the Law of Moses. The truth and the gospel was threatening their control and position.
9:3 ...my kinsmen according to the flesh: (DNA) (Deut 32:32)
9:4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises (G1860- divine assurance);
An important note, and proof of deliberate false teaching by today's “churches”: in verse 4 Paul is addressing Israelites. If the “adoption” is for “Gentiles”, why is he stating that the adoption pertains to Israel?
The word adoption comes from uihothesia, meaning 'to be placed into position of son', meaning, we are heirs of the promises but we must keep and obey the oath in order to be in the position to receive the blessings.
9:5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.
The translators either deliberately or ignorantly botched this verse up.
Let's look at the original Greek:
5 whose are the fathers; and of whom are the Anointed in regards to the flesh, being over all blessed of Yahweh for the ages. Truly.
9:6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
Not everyone that is dwelling with Israel is of Israel.
Esau's descendants were always 'thorns in our side'. John chapter 8, Christ explains the same thing, they are not of us. These Edomites infiltrated and corrupted the religious sects in Christ's time. Our denominations are the result of this today.
9:7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
Galatians 4:23 But he who was of the bondwoman (Hagar) was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman (Sarah) was by promise.
Abraham had children with Hagar and Ketura too.
ISHMAEL - By Hagar an Egyptian (descendants of Ham). Arabs of today, previously white up until Islamic Era (600 AD)ish
KETURA - who were sent east, known as the Indo-aryans
ISAAC - By Sarah. The Covenant People. Saints. The Called. The anointed people of Israel, Isaac's son. Saxon. That rhymes. Are you starting to understand yet?
9:8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these (Ishmaelites and Keturites) are not the children of God: but the children of the promise (G1860- divine assurance) are counted for the seed.
9:9 For this is the word of promise (G1860- divine assurance, blessing), At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.
Isaac is a 'type' of Christ. Abraham would represent Yahweh, who was willing to sacrifice his son. By doing this deed, Yahweh chose Abraham to be the father of many nations (the 12). Christ was the anointed sacrifice to redeem Abraham's seed, the chosen line of Isaac, whom Yahweh anointed and blessed his son Jacob (Israelites). Christ did not die for those outside His family (DNA).
Nothing in any of the above verses, or in any scripture, indicates that the other races and the “church” is added to or takes the place in the covenants and promises made to Israel.
In Romans we see again:
-The Davidic covenant that David's seed will always sit on the throne. The divine promise of old, made unto Abraham is still in effect and honored by Yahweh.
-The divine promise and assurance is exclusively to the sons of Jacob with overwhelming proof.
2Corinthians opens with peace and encouragement to the 'saints' (Israelites) in Corinth.
2Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises (G1860- divine assurances) of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
The Greek: 20 For however many promises of Yahweh there are, with Him is the Yes, and through Him the Truth, with honor to Yahweh through us.
1:21 Now He which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;
21 Now He who is establishing us with you in the Anointed, and anoints us, is Yahweh.
'Christ' is 'christos' in Greek. It means, anointed. It does not always refer to Christ, but often the group, the anointed seed of Israel.
1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest (a deposit, down payment) of the Spirit in our hearts.
1:23 Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth.
Paul passed Corinth on the way to Macedonia because of the acts of the Corinthians. He was upset with their wicked ways and did not want to come and reprimand them.
1:24 Not for that we have dominion over your faith (allegiance), but are helpers of your joy: for by faith (allegiance) ye stand.
1Peter 5:3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.
2Corinthians 7:1 Having therefore these promises (G1860- divine assurances), dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness (accomplishing sanctity) in the fear (awe, reverence) of God.
7:2 Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.
7:3 I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you.
7:4 Great is my boldness (openness) of speech toward you, great is my glorying (boasting) of you: I am filled with comfort (encouragement), I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.
The tribulations the apostles had to deal with was worth it because these Corinthians corrected the problems in the previous letter from Paul and were worthy of boasting about.
Chapter 3 is about the functions of the ritual law.
Galatians 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law (rituals) are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
The promise and oath with Yahweh at Sinai included the oblations and rituals of sacrifice, which the Levites performed for the people. These expired when Christ died.
(Deut 27:26, Jer 11:3) If you stay in the rituals then you are cursed. Christ freed us from the ritual obligations, don't continue in them.
3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith (allegiance).
3:12 And the law is not of (from) faith: but, The man that doeth (practices) them shall live in them.
Doing the law. Righteousness comes from obedience. Lev 18:5, Rom 10:5
3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
3:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles (dispersed of Israel) through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise (G1860- divine assurance) of the Spirit through faith (allegiance).
3:15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.
No man can change the covenants. But the “churches” do. They include everyone else into the covenants made to Abraham's seed. They say you can become his seed by “just believing”.
3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises (G1860- divine assurances) made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to your seed, which is Christ.
The Greek is much clearer:
16 Now to Abraham the promises have been spoken, and to his offspring. It does not say “and to offsprings”, as of many; but as of one: “and to your offspring.” which are anointed.
'Christ' is not always referring to Jesus. Christ means 'anointed'. Called out, set apart.
Some examples: 1 Sam 2:10,35, 1 Chron 16:22, Psalms 2:2,9, Heb 11:24-26, Lam 4:20, Hab 3:13.
3:17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise (G1860) of none effect.
'in Christ' is not in the original texts.
The written law of Moses was given 430 years after the promises were given to Abraham.
3:18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise (G1860): but God gave it to Abraham by promise (G1860- divine assurance).
The covenant (promise) has nothing to do with the law. Our free gift of salvation is because of the promise, but we can be 'blotted out' if we do not practice and strive for the faith OF Christ.
3:19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions (sin), till the seed (offspring) should come to whom the promise (G1861- announcement) was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
Yahweh promised Himself to the children of Israel. In the form of Jesus.
John 15:22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they would have no error: but now they have no excuse concerning their errors.
3:20 Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.
Romans 3:29 Is He the God of the Judaeans (circumcised) only? is He not also of the Gentiles (dispersed Nations, uncircumcised)? Yes, of the Gentiles (dispersed Nations) also:
Yahweh is the God of both Houses of Israel. Israel and Judah.
People would know this if the “churches” taught the history of our people, which is in the OT.
3:21 Is the law then against the promises (G1860- divine assurance) of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
The law can preserve (save) us.
The purpose of law, which in itself is just and good, is to prevent the wrongdoer from harming others or himself. The law reveals condemnation, not salvation, it neither justifies the sinner, nor sanctifies the believer.
3:22 But the scripture hath concluded all (Israelites) under sin, that the promise (G1860- divine assurance) by faith of (allegiance to) Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
Romans 11:32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
All the seed of Abraham are vessels of mercy. 'Might' is in verse 22 and in the reference in Romans. If you don't act like a 'called out' seed, you might not get mercy. The children of Israel can exclude themselves by breaking allegiance (faith).
3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
Faith in verse 23 can easily be compared to Christ, who has allegiance with the Father. Observe:
23 But before the Christ was to come we had been guarded under the law, being enclosed to Christ destined to be revealed.
Christ had faith (allegiance). Faith is a noun, only Christ attained it by the example He set. This is our test, our purpose, our goal.
3:24 Wherefore the law (rituals) was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith (allegiance).
Most of the Israelites didn't have faith or love for the law. They just went through the motions of the rituals insincerely. After a while, the Israelites lost their fear of Yahweh because they could just sacrifice an animal for their sin, and then sin some more.
3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster (rituals).
They no longer had the crutch of the rituals.
Again, 25 could read: But after that Christ is come, we are no longer under the ordinances of the rituals.
3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith (allegiance) in Christ Jesus.
3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized (immersed) into Christ have put on Christ. (Christ you have been clothed in)
Allegiance (faith) also results in positive gifts (blessings), as, placement of son into Yahweh's inheritance, the promised Spirit, the fruits of that Spirit. Inwardly, love joy and peace. To Yahweh, faith (allegiance), meekness and temperance. And to others, longsuffering, gentleness and goodness.
3:28 There is neither Judaean nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye (Israelites) are all one in Christ Jesus.
3:29 And (But) if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise (G1860- divine assurance).
'And' is not in the texts, it should be But. This verse does not say you are Abraham's seed because you “believe”. Does someone outside your family get part of your family inheritance, because they “believe” in your inheritance? No. They are not part of the contract.
The oath is with the sons of Jacob. We have divine assurance when we keep to the oath. We have curses if we break the oath, or try to give it away!
Galatians 4:21 Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?
Paul is setting up this discussion of the analogy of the bond woman, Hagar, and the free woman, Sarah.
4:22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.
4:23 But he (Ishmael) who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh (worldly); but he (Isaac) of the freewoman was by promise (G1860- divine assurance).
4:28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise (G1860- divine assurance).
Yahweh promised that Ishmael would be a great nation. Back then they were white Arabs. Today, they are mixed with Canaanite/Edomite Jew/and Negros.
ARAB - In Hebrew means -to become mixed, to grow dark
Ishmaelites- Arabs were white and remained mostly white until the Islamic Era (600AD ish).
As the seed of Abraham, Christ was the only perfect man, He set the example. We are of this same seed ('called') and therefore stewards of His purpose. To strive to be like Christ.
Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed (understood), ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise (G1860- the promise, divine assurance),
14 which is a deposit of our inheritance, in regard to redemption of the possession, in praise of His honor.
In verse 13, 'trusted'- is in italic text, which means it was added by the translators.
In Christ, after we hear and understand our history, heritage, identity and divine promise, and then live in it (the oath, the understanding), then we become sealed with the Spiritual nature of the divine promise. It takes knowledge, understanding, and obedience to receive the blessings of the oath. Living the way of the Spirit. When we live the way of the flesh, we receive the curses of the oath.
Ephesians 2:12 That at that time you were without Christ, being aliens (alienated) from the commonwealth (civic life) of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise (G1860- divine assurance), having no hope, and without God in the world (society):
The KJV translators took a past tense verb, 'alienated' and changed it to a noun 'aliens'. But did it correct in Colossians.
Colossians 1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled (and see Ez 13:9)
In verse 12 and in Col 1:21, Paul is talking to the Israelites that lived outside Judaea. All his epistles were to Israelites living elsewhere in the Greco-Roman empire. These dispersed Israelites had never returned to Judaea after the Assyrian and Babylonian captivities, so they forgot their heritage and God and became pagan. This made them alienated and enemies to Yahweh. That is why they are called the Uncircumcision, because they did not keep the customs. Since Yahweh keeps His promises, He died for both the Israelites in Judaea (circumcision, kept customs) and outside Judaea (uncircumcision, forgot customs). The oath is to all of the children of Jacob. The ignorant ones needed to be reminded. That is what the gospel is. The message to our race that forgot their Way.
Paul's job was the 'management of the family'.
Ephesians 3:6 That the Gentiles (dispersed ignorant Israelites) should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of His promise (G1860- divine assurance) in Christ by the gospel:
3:7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace (favor) of God given unto me by the effectual working (operation) of His power.
When Yahweh swore with Abraham the divine oath (covenant), He was specific about who it covered, the children of Israel. If Yahweh were to break this promise, He would be a liar and cursed. Yahweh will never break His word. He never changes.
The “churches” teach that verse 6 makes everybody who simply “believes” partakers of the promise. They are breaking the oath, teaching falsehood, and with blatant misunderstanding and ignorance bringing the curses of the oath upon themselves.
Gentiles is a Latin word that means a nation or race of people. It does not mean non-Jew.
Depending on the context, it refers to the nation of people being discussed, in verse 6, the nations of dispersed, uncircumcised Israelites.
Ephesians 6:2 Honour your father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise (G1860- divine assurance)😉
The Greek has 'which is the first commandment with a promise.'
6:3 That it may be well with you, and you mayest live long on the earth.
This promise works in this life as well as the next. Following the oath preserves us in this mortal life and assures us of the blessings in the kingdom.
Ephesians shows that:
-Christ is a fulfillment of the divine oath to Abraham's seed. The path to life.
-When we understand and adhere to the oath, we access life and blessings.
-The covenant covers the Israelites with the knowledge of their heritage (the circumcision), and the Israelites that forgot (the uncircumcision). Wrongly labeled 'Gentiles'.
-The promises were not extended to any other people or “church”, but rather to the ignorant Israelites all over the Greco-Roman world. The gospel is the reminder of the identity and divine promises made to the children of Jacob.
1Timothy 4:6 If you put the brethren in remembrance of these things, you shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto you hast attained.
2Timothy 3:14 But continue you in the things which you hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom you hast learned;
If you continue in truth, you will know Christ, you will have learned to be like Christ.
4:7 But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
Don't support evolution. Don't spend ALL your time at the gym. Exercise your understanding.
4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise (G1860- divine assurance) of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
Stick to the oath and the truth and the blessings will flow.
2Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise (G1860- divine assurance) of life which is in Christ Jesus,
1:2 To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace (favor), mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Prince.
1:3 I thank God, whom I serve from (after) my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of you in my prayers night and day; (Acts 22:3)
Paul is acknowledging the forefathers, namely Abraham.
The theme never changes. The oath between Yahweh and the seed of Abraham, to remember and keep the covenant and allegiance (faith).
Titus 1:1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
God's 'elect' are the children of the seed of Abraham through Jacob.
1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised (G1861- declared) before the world began;
Paul is teaching his kinsmen not to harden their hearts like their ancestors in the wilderness.
Hebrews 3:11 So I sware (G3660- threatened) in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
11 So I have sworn in My wrath, whether they should enter into My rest.)
'Rest', period of peace, the next age.
'Not', is not in the older texts.
The children of Israel were so stiffnecked that Yahweh wanted to destroy them, but Moses pleaded with Yahweh for them and reminded Him of His promise to Abraham. His promise overrules our destruction, which we deserve. Grace really means 'favor'. We have favor because of His promise. He keeps His promises. Shouldn't we? We promised, on many occasions to follow His Word.
3:18 And to whom sware (G3660- threatened) He that they should not enter into His rest, but to them that believed not?
3:19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief (unfaithfulness, no allegiance or loyalty).
The OT is presented as a model, compared to the Kingdom.
This was speaking of the Promised Land then, but also is referring to the age yet to come, the Kingdom here on earth. So we better get our understanding right and our belief correct. If you trust in a Jewish Jesus, you will not be admitted, for Christ is of the seed of Abraham and not Cain or Esau.
Hebrews 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise (G1860- divine assurance) being left us of entering into His rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed (united) with faith in them that heard it.
The divorce was when the gospel began. After Solomon died, the kingdom of Israel split into two houses. The house of Judah and the house of Israel. Both were eventually taken captive. A remnant of Judah returned, the rest of Judah, as well as most all of the house of Israel dispersed and spread throughout the Greco-Roman world and into Europe. The gospel was the good message to both these houses, that they would be reconciled.
4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as He said, As I have sworn (G3660- threatened) in My wrath, if (whether) they shall enter into My rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
We will not enter into Yahweh's rest until we obey Him. We must keep our end of the oath.
Hebrews 6:11 But we desire each of you to display that same eagerness, regarding the certainty of the expectation, until fulfillment;
Hebrews 3:6 But Christ as a son over His own house; whose house are we (anglo-saxon Israel), if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope (expectation) firm unto the end (fulfillment).
6:12 That ye be not slothful (“just believers”), but followers (doers) of them who through faith (allegiance) and patience (endurance) inherit the promises (G1860-divine assurances).
6:13 For when God made promise (G1861- assurance) to Abraham, because He could swear by (G3660- call to witness) no greater, He sware (G3660- affirmed) by Himself,
6:14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.
6:15 And so, after he (Abraham) had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
No other race or people can claim what Yahweh promised Abraham and his seed.
6:16 For men verily swear (G3660- declare) by the greater: and an oath (G3727- pledge) for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.
There is no disputing who the recipients are to the covenants and promises made by Yahweh.
6:17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise (G1860- divine assurance) the immutability (unchanging) of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath (G3727- that which had been pledged or promised):
The “churches” try to spiritualize this and add everybody to the promise. There is no such thing as spiritual sperm (seed).
The office of Melchisedec.
Hebrews 7:6 But he (Melchisedec) whose descent is not counted from them (Levi) received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises (G1860- divine assurances).
This is all explaining that from Adam to Abraham, the oldest living patriarch was the high priest. The high preacher of righteousness. Nahor, Abraham's older brother was Melchisedec. When Levi was born, he and his descendants were the priestly tribe. The Levites. They performed the rituals for the children of Israel. Now when John the Baptist immersed Christ with water, he was performing the last cleansing ritual, cleansing the priesthood and preparing the Lamb (Christ) for sacrifice. When Christ died, all these rituals, baptism, sacrifice, and the things that the Levites did were done away with. Christ fulfilled the law. He is now the eternal High Priest.
7:18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
Romans 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
In verse 18, Paul is talking about the disannulling of the commandment of the ritual sacrifices, not the 10 commandments.
Hebrews 7:19 (for the law has perfected nothing) and an introduction of a better expectation through which we approach Yahweh.
The law is for the unrighteous. The deeds (rituals) were the atonement for the sins of the unrighteous. The purpose is for our learning and instruction.
7:20 And inasmuch as not without an oath (G3728- affirmation) He was made priest:
The Levites were priests by birth.
7:21 (For those priests were made without an oath (G3728- affirmation); but this (Christ) with an oath (G3728- affirmation) by Him that said unto Him, Yahweh sware (G3660- affirmed) and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)
7:22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament (covenant).
The priesthood expired and Christ holds the office Himself. We no longer go through other men for sacrifices (atonement), we must make spiritual sacrifices ourselves directly to Christ. He is now our mediator.
7:28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath (G3728- affirmation), which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.
So we can see in chapter 7 that the priesthood went through stages. The eldest living male of the race of Adam was high priest until the days of Abraham, proclaiming righteousness and setting an example. Then the Levites were the priesthood for the children of Israel because the law given on Mt Sinai, when disobeyed, required atonement for sins. This was a shadow of things to come. When Christ died, the priesthood was no longer needed, Christ made the final atonement and assumed the role as High Priest, forever.
Hebrews 8:6 But now hath He (Christ) obtained a more excellent ministry (distinguished office), by how much also He is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises (G1860- divine assurances).
The law written on our heart and the acceptance of Christ as our High Priest. The old covenant was not erased, it served it's purpose leading up to the crucifixion. Now that Christ died for us, through Him we might have everlasting life. The sacrifices shall cease. (Dan 9:27)
8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
It was our inability to follow it that was at fault. We are still to keep the commandments, statutes and judgments of the oath, only the priestly ordinances expired.
Hebrews 9:15 And for this cause He is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise (G1860- divine assurance) of eternal inheritance.
This verse proves that those of the first covenant are fulfilled by the second. The 'those' are the children of Israel, the 'called', then and now. The Greek reads better.
15 And for this reason He is a mediator of the new covenant, so that from death resulting in redemption of the transgressions against the first covenant, those having been called would receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
Only Abraham's seed was promised these things.
In Isaac's seed shall your be called. (Gen 21:12)
Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful (trustworthy) that promised (G1861- pledged)😉
10:36 For ye have need of patience (endurance), that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise (G1860- divine assurance).
'receive' is 'recover' in the manuscripts. The universalists deliberately changed this word to support their doctrine that the promises made to Abraham's seed applies to any and everyone. The original reading, 'recover' shows that it only applies to those who once had the promises. The children of Israel.
Hebrews 11:9 By faith (assurance, allegiance) he (Abraham) sojourned in the land of promise (G1860- announcement, divine assurance), as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise (G1860- announcement):
11:11 Through faith (assurance, allegiance) also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged Him faithful (trustworthy) who had promised (G1861- announced).
11:13 These (Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Sarah) all died in faith (allegiance), not having received the promises (G1860- divine assurances), but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
They had trust in the prophecies and the promises, that they would come true.
11:17 By faith (allegiance) Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises (G1860- divine assurances) offered up his only begotten son,
11:18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall your seed be called:
11:19 Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure (an analogy).
Abraham trusted what Yahweh promised him, and believed that even if Isaac had to be sacrificed, Yahweh would raise him again or replace him.
Isaac was not Abraham's only son, don't forget Ishmael and the sons of Keturah.
The correct translation would be 'most beloved son'. This occurs in John 3:16 as well, Christ is not Yahweh's only son, but His most beloved, because Christ was without error. All Adamites are God's children.
11:32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gideon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:
11:33 Who through faith (allegiance) subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises (G1860- divine assurance), stopped the mouths of lions,
They believed the promises, they had allegiance with Yahweh.
11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith (allegiance), received not the promise (G1860- divine assurance):
11:40 of Yahweh, foreseeing for us something better, that not apart from us should they be perfected.
Those who have died, are still alive, and yet to be born, that have lived in allegiance to the oath and Yahweh, will be perfected when He returns.
Hebrews 12:26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now He hath promised (G1860- announced), saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
12:27 And this word, “Yet once more”, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
The things that Yahweh created, or planted, or that are built upon, will remain when He returns.
Those that keep the covenants, oaths and promises will be blessed.
James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation (trials): for when he is tried (approved), he shall receive the crown of life, which the Prince hath promised (G1861- pledged) to them that love Him.
Job 5:17 Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:
1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
Yahweh does not do evil. Yahweh does not tempt us. He tests us, He tries us.The results are either blessings for following the oath and The Way, or curses for breaking our oath.
James 2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith (allegiance), and heirs of the kingdom which He hath promised (G1861- pledged) to them that love Him?
John 14:15 If ye love Me, keep My commandments. Keep the oath.
James 5:12 But above all things, my brethren, swear (G3660- call to witness) not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath (G3727- pledge): but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation. (Mat 5:34)
2Peter 1:2 Grace (favor) and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Prince,
Knowledge and understanding of our Prince, our heritage, our duty. Not just “believing on Him”, but understanding, supporting and following what He represents.
1:3 According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory (honor) and virtue:
1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious (valuable) promises (G1862- assurances): that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Following the oath, which pertains to life and blessings, are the valuable assurance that we will receive our Shekinah Glory and escape the destruction of corruption.
2Peter 2:19 While they (false preachers) promise (G1861- profess) them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
2:20 For if after they (we) have escaped the pollutions of the world (society) through the knowledge of the Prince and Saviour Jesus Christ, they (we) are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them (us) than the beginning.
2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to Me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Luke 12:47 And that servant, which knew his master's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Kinda blows apart this “once saved, always saved” theory.
When we come to the truth and turn away from it, we reject the covenant and become cursed.
2Peter 3:1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
3:2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Prince and Saviour: (Jude 17)
3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
3:4 And saying, Where is the promise (G1860- divine assurance) of His coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
Talking about those who lost their faith (moral conviction, allegiance).
5 For this willingly escapes them: that the heavens were from old and the earth from out of water and through water had been put together by the Word of Yahweh,
Willing ignorance is the same as “just believing”. Willing ignorance is believing your preacher or “church” over the scriptures. Willing ignorance is willingly avoiding closer examination of the Word. Willingly breaking the oath. Willingly inviting curses.
3:9 The Prince is not slack concerning His promise (G1860- divine assurance), as some men count slackness (delay); but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all (sons of Jacob) should come to repentance.
Only the children of Israel were given the law and promises, broke them, and must come to repentance.
3:13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise (G1862- committal, assurance), look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
Blameless of race-mixing, breaking the promise, and ignorance.
1John 2:24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
The OT. The prophecies and promises. The NT. The continuation in those promises.
2:25 And this is the promise that He hath promised (G1861- assured) us, even eternal life.
To know with understanding. “Just believing” is not knowing with understanding, if you truly understood, you would not be “just believing”.
Revelation 10:5 And the angel (messenger) which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, (Ex 6:8)
10:6 And sware (G3660- asserted, announced) by Him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer: ('that there shall no longer be delay')
10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel (messenger)(angel of Laodicea), when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as He hath declared to His servants the prophets.
The Mystery of Yahweh is the concealment and the later revelation of His people. The concealment happened after the Assyrian deportations of Israel, and the revelation would happen in the Gospel. He put Israel away for breaking the oath, and that He would find them. See Luke 2:30-32, Ephesians 3:1-7, and Daniel chapters 2,7.
The Germanic tribes that destroyed Rome, were the stone cut out of the mountain without hands. The Germans were only one branch of the sons of Jacob. They were referred to by the Romans as 'barbarians'.
The Germanic peoples break away from the Catholic church in order to obey the gospel of Christ.
In this study, it is obvious that an oath, promise and vow is giving your word. Your word must be upheld. Your word will bind you to the blessings or curses of performing it.
Yahweh's promises and covenants are made with the race of Adam only. Nowhere else in scripture does Yahweh promise anything to anyone else. Israel is exclusive to Yahweh and Yahweh is exclusive to Israel.
When it comes to the question of making vows or promises, just listen to what Christ said when instructing His taught ones.
