Moses

Moses was chosen by Yahweh to lead His chosen people out of slavery in Egypt. When Moses was a baby, his mother hid him because the Pharaoh in Egypt ordered that all the Hebrew baby boys were to be killed. He did that because he was afraid that the Hebrews would grow to become more and mightier than the Egyptians and take over Egypt. When Moses got too big to hide anymore, his mother put him in a basket and told his sister to float the basket in the Nile River. Pharaoh's daughter found the baby Moses, and raised him as her own son. When Moses grew older, he left Egypt, but God sent him back to help save His people. Moses led the Hebrews through the Sea of Reeds when God parted the waters. He brought the Ten Commandments of God to the people when Yahweh gave them to him on Mount Sinai. Moses led the Hebrews through the wilderness for forty years, to the land that God promised to His people.

During their time wandering through the wilderness, the people were learning how worship Yahweh and follow His Way. They constructed the 'Tent of Meeting' which is the tabernacle where God was worshiped. This tent was large and they would set it up when God wanted the people to stay in one place for a while, then when God wanted the people to travel again, they would disassemble the tent and bring it with them and set it up again. This was because the Temple was not yet built, that would come later on in the days of Solomon.

Moses was a Levite, of the tribe of Levi. The Levites were the tribe that was the priesthood. Moses' brother Aaron was the high priest, and Aaron's sons had the most important duties of the priesthood. They were responsible for performing the sacrifices for sin and other priestly duties. The other Levites had other duties in the 'tent of meeting' such as cleaning, preparing, gathering wood, etc.

Many people died in the wilderness because they did not change their ways that they learned in Egypt. They were still pagans. A pagan is someone that worships other gods.

Yahweh God made covenants and promises with the children of Israel and took them to be His people. We Israelites will always be God's people and nobody else can become God's people. The inheritance stays in the family and it is only our family that this history, heritage and Bible is for. Many will try to tell you that we are all God's children, but those are just lies. The Bible is a book about the family (race) of Adam.

As you read through the scriptures you will see that the Old Testament and the New Testament are about the same family, the children of Israel. And because we and our ancestors keep breaking the law and disobeying God, our punishment is death. But that is why God sent His son Jesus Yahshua Christ to die for our sins, so that we have a path back to Him.
