II CORINTHIANS
Written from Macedonia approximately 56 AD (2 Cor 2:12, Acts 20:1)
The second epistle to the Corinthians was written from Philippi, a city of Macedonia, by Titus and Lucas.
Paul founded the assembly in Corinth. (Acts 18:1-11)
Christians were under heavy persecution by the Edomite Jew scribes and Pharisees at this time.
This is the the third known letter to the assemblies at Corinth. (2 Cor 13:1)
It is still addressed to the children of Jacob. Israelites. Mostly Dorian and Danaan Greeks of the House of Judah as well as those of the House of Israel (the dispersed).
The Greek will be referred to where scripture has been either mistranslated or changed.
Paul's second (actually third) letter to the assembly at Corinth was written not long after the first (second) one, during his third missionary journey. Driven from Ephesus, where he had written the first (second) letter, he traveled on through Macedonia in distress of mind about the Corinthian converts, which was only relieved when, eventually, he received news of them by Titus.
The assembly had profited by his pastoral counsels, but nevertheless there were those who were his personal detractors and questioned his apostolic authority.
This second (third) letter shows the natural feelings of a warm heart.
This letter sets the pattern, in integrity, in affection, in spirituality, for all who would, ad ambassadors for Christ, proclaim His life-giving message:- 'The Gospel of the Kingdom.'
Salutation
2Corinthians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus (Yahshua) Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church (assembly) of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia: (Act 18:1)
'Saint's' are those of the children of Jacob/Israel.
1:2 Grace (Favor, divine influence) be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Prince Yahshua Christ.
Paul's Thanksgiving after Affliction
1:3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Prince Jesus (Yahshua) Christ, the Father of mercies (compassion), and the God of all comfort (encouragement);
1:4 Who comforteth (encourages) us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort (encourage) them which are in any trouble (affliction), by the comfort (encouragement) wherewith we ourselves are comforted (encouraged) of God.
1:5 For as the sufferings (affliction) of Christ abound in us, so our consolation (comfort) also aboundeth by Christ.
The Greek will clarify: 5 Because just as the sufferings of the Anointed are abundant to us, in that manner through the Anointed our encouragement also is abundant.
Paul is talking about the Anointed group (Israelites). When we bring the truth of the gospel to the society, the society hates us and we are afflicted in it, but through each other (our Anointed kinsmen) we are comforted and encouraged.
1:6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for (on behalf of) your consolation (encouragement) and salvation (preservation, deliverance), which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation (encouragement) and salvation (preservation, deliverance).
As we can already start to tell with the poor translations in the KJV of Paul's writings, that it is very difficult to understand. This second epistle to the Corinthians will have to show side by side the confusing and weak translations of the 17th century KJV and the original Greek.
Verse 6 Now, whether we are afflicted on behalf of your encouragement and preservation, or if we are encouraged on behalf of your encouragement which is being produced in the endurance of the same sufferings by which we are also affected.
Remember that this is a time of persecution and martyrdom.
1:7 And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation (encouragement).
Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.
2Timothy 2:12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we deny Him, He also will deny us:
1:8 For we would not, brethren (kin), have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:
Reference to Acts 19:23 (hurting the silversmiths idol business) and 1 Cor 15:32. Being in danger.
1:9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:
Jeremiah 17:5 Thus saith Yahweh; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from Yahweh.
17:7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in Yahweh, and whose hope Yahweh is.
1:10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that He will yet deliver us;
2Peter 2:9 The Prince knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
1:11 Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift (Divine gratuity) bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf. (Rom 15:30; Phil 1:19)
The Postponement of Paul's Visit
1:12 For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace (favor, Divine influence) of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.
'conversation in the world' should read, 'behaved ourselves in the society'.
1:13 For we write none other things unto you, than what ye read or acknowledge; and I trust ye shall acknowledge even to the end;
1:14 As also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also are ours in the day of the Prince Jesus (Yahshua).
Philippians 2:16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
1:15 And in this confidence I was minded to come unto you before, that ye might have a second benefit;
Second trip to Corinth.
1:16 And to pass by you into Macedonia, and to come again out of Macedonia unto you, and of you to be brought on my way toward Judaea. (Act 19:21)
1:17 When I therefore was thus minded, did I use lightness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be yea yea, and nay nay?
1:18 But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay.
The Greek: 17-18 Therefore planning this, had I indeed been in want of easiness? Or that which I plan, do I plan in accordance with flesh, in order that with me it would be 'yea, yea' then 'nay, nay'? But trusting is Yahweh, seeing that our word to you is not 'yea', then 'nay'. (Not waivering)
1:19 For the Son of God, Jesus (Yahshua) Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in Him was yea. (Act 18:5)
Do what you say, say what you do.
1:20 For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
20 For however many promises of Yahweh there are, with Him is the Yes, and through Him the Truth, with honor to Yahweh through us.
1:21 Now He which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;
21 Now He who is establishing us with you in the Anointed, and anoints us, is Yahweh.
'Christ' is 'christos' in Greek. It means, anointed. It does not always refer to Christ, but often the group, the anointed seed of Israel.
1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest (a deposit, down payment) of the Spirit in our hearts.
1:23 Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth.
Paul passed Corinth on the way to Macedonia because of the acts of the Corinthians. He was upset with their wicked ways and did not want to come and reprimand them.
1:24 Not for that we have dominion over your faith (The Belief of you), but are helpers of your joy: for by faith (The Belief) ye stand.
1Peter 5:3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.
2Corinthians 2:1 But I determined this with myself, that I would not come again to you in heaviness (grief).
Paul was grieved because of their unrighteousness.
2:2 For if I make you sorry, who is he then that maketh me glad, but the same which is made sorry by me?
2:3 And I wrote this same unto you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all.
Galatians 5:9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
5:10 I have confidence in you through the Prince, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
2:4 For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you.
If he went there first, before Macedonia, he would be scolding them and causing grief.
Forgiveness for the Offender
2:5 But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all.
1Corinthians 5:1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Nations, that one should have his father's wife.
5:5 To deliver such an one unto the adversary for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be preserved in the day of the Prince Yahshua.
2:6 Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many.
2:7 So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive (deal graciously) him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.
Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
2:8 Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.
2:9 For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.
In I Corinthians, some of the letter was about a certain man who engaged in incest. The Corinthians were to cast him out of their community if he did not repent and change his ways. They dealt with the problem. If they followed the letter of the law, they would have been like the Pharisees, but they honored the law by being merciful. He apparently did repent and was allowed back into the congregation. We must strive to obey the law, but also have mercy towards our brethren.
2:10 To whom ye forgive (deal graciously in) any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave (dealt graciously) any thing, to whom I forgave (dealt graciously) it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person (presence) of Christ;
2:11 Lest Satan (the Adversary) should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
Paul's Anxiety in Troas
2:12 Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, and a door (opportunity) was opened unto me of the Lord,
The Greek: 12 Now coming to Troas in regard to the good message of the Anointed, and an opportunity being opened to me by the Prince,
The good message of the group (the Anointed), that Christ died for.
2:13 I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia. (Act 20:1)
2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of His knowledge by us in every place.
14 But thanks to Yahweh, who is always leading us among the Anointed in triumph, and the essence of the knowledge of Him is being made manifest through us in every place.
2:15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
15 Seeing that we of the Anointed are a sweet fragrance to Yahweh, among these being preserved and among those being destroyed;
2:16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient (befitting) for these things?
2:17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
17 For we are not as the many, selling the word of Yahweh in trade, but as from sincerity, rather as from Yahweh. Before Yahweh we speak in respect of the Anointed.
Paul is speaking of the evangelists of that day who charged or collected money for speaking in God's name, just like today with Joel Osteen and many others.
An Honest Ministry
Ministers of the New Covenant
2Corinthians 3:1 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?
The Greek: 1 Do we begin anew to introduce ourselves? Or do we, as some, need letters of introduction to you, or from you?
3:2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, (being) known and (being) read of all men:
3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. (Exo 24:12; Jer 31;33; Eze 11:19, 36:26)
3:4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:
4 Now confidence such as this we have throughout the Anointed (group) regarding Yahweh.
3:5 Not that we are sufficient (competent) of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency (competency) is of God;
John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing.
3:6 Who also hath made us able (competent) ministers (servants) of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. (Jer 31:31)
The letter of the law judges.
3:7 But if the ministration (service) of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious (produced with honor), so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: 'which is being left unemployed:' (Exo 34:29)
Romans 7:10 And the commandment, which is for life, it is for death.
3:8 How shall not the ministration (service) of the spirit be rather glorious (honorable)?
3:9 For if the ministration (service) of condemnation be glory (honor), much more doth the ministration (service) of righteousness exceed in glory (honor).
Death is the sentence of disobedience. Receive honor by righteousness.
3:10 For even that which was made glorious (honorable) had no glory (honor) in this respect, by reason of the glory (honor) that excelleth.
3:11 For if that which is done away was glorious (honorable), much more that which remaineth is glorious (honorable).
The sacrificial rituals were done away with. Not the laws of Moses, as the “churches” teach.
3:12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness (bluntness) of speech: (4Mac 10:5; Eph 6:19)
3:13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end (fulfillment) of that which is abolished (rituals): (Exo 34:33-35)
This is an allegory. The OT law left a magnificent reflection on Moses' face, yet the law of the Spirit is even more glorious.
3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
Christ was the fulfillment of the ritual laws. That is why they were done away with. To continue these ordinances would be to deny what Christ did.
Isaiah 6:10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
3:15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
Keep the law by nature, not the letter.
3:16 Nevertheless when it shall (re)turn to the Prince, the vail shall be taken away.
Exodus 34:34 But when Moses went in before Yahweh to speak with Him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded.
3:17 Now Yahweh is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of Yahweh is, there is liberty.
3:18 But (And) we all, with open face (unveiled presence) beholding as in a glass (mirror) the glory (honor) of Yahweh, are changed into the same image from glory (honor) to glory (honor), even as by the Spirit of Yahweh. (4Mac 9:22; 2Cor 3:17-18)
1Corinthians 13:12 For now we see through a mirror in riddles, but then face to face; now I know by destiny, but then I will recognize just as also I have been recognized.
Treasure in Clay jars
2Corinthians 4:1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry (service), as we have received mercy, we faint (falter) not;
Paul is saying to be honest and truthful, and not deceitful and crafty. Be righteous and follow the law.
4:2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost (those being destroyed):
4:4 In whom the god of this world (age) hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (Luk 4:6)
A few points: The lower case god is a reference to Satan. Satan is the god of this 'age'.
The word, 'Christ' is referring to His kinsmen, the children of Israel, the Anointed seed.
The Greek: 4 By whom the 'god' of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, for not to shine the light of the good message of the honor of the Anointed, who are the image of Yahweh.
4:5 For we preach (proclaim) not ourselves, but Christ Jesus (Yahshua) the Prince; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' (Yahshua's) sake.
4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory (honor) of God in the face (person, countenance) of Jesus (Yahshua) Christ. (Gen 1:3)
4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels (bodies, Adamic man), that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
4:8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; (1Cor 1:8)
4:9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
Psalm 37:24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for Yahweh upholdeth him with His hand.
4:10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Prince Yahshua, that the life also of Yahshua might be made manifest in our body.
Philippians 3:10 That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death;
Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.
4:11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' (Yahshua's) sake, that the life also of Yahshua might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
4:12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
The apostles risked their lives to bring the gospel to those that gain life by it.
4:13 We having the same spirit of faith (The Belief), according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe (are believing), and therefore speak; (Psa 116:10)
4:14 Knowing that He which raised up the Prince Yahshua shall raise up us also by Yahshua, and shall present us with you.
4:15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace (favor, Divine influence) might through the thanksgiving of many redound (exceed) to the glory (honor) of God.
Living by Belief
4:16 For which cause we faint (falter) not; but though our outward (mortal) man perish, yet the inward (spiritual) man is renewed day by day.
4:17 For our light affliction (tribulation), which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory (honor);
If your church is teaching that you can escape tribulation in the “rapture”, they are lying to you. The rapture is not a scriptural doctrine, and we must all go through tribulation.
Tribulation is for our growth, it's like a spiritual workout, sure it hurts, but look at the gain.
Matthew 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Romans 8:18 Therefore I consider that the happenstances of the present time are not of value, looking to the future honor to be revealed to us.
1Peter 1:6 In which you must rejoice, if for a short time now it is necessary being pained by various trials,
4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Romans 8:24 In hope we are restored, but hope being seen is not hope; indeed that which one sees why would he also hope for?
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is expecting an assurance, the evidence of facts not being seen. (v13)
2Corinthians 5:1 For we know that if our earthly (mortal) house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands (spiritual body), eternal in the heavens. (Wis 9:15)
5:2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
5:3 If so be that being clothed (in righteousness) we shall not be found naked.
5:4 For we that are in this tabernacle (flesh) do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon (but to put on the other), that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
Paul is talking about our spiritual clothing (body) at Judgment Day. Shekinah Glory.
5:5 Now He that hath wrought (has been cultivating) us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest (down payment) of the Spirit.
5:6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Prince:
5:7 (For we walk by faith (belief), not by sight:) (2Cor 4:18; 1Cor 2:14)
5:8 We are confident (courageous), I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body (flesh), and to be present with the Prince.
5:9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent (residing at home or sojourning), we may be accepted of Him.
We must strive to walk in His ways always and everywhere.
5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. (Mat 16:27; Joh 5:29; Rom 14:10)
But I thought the law was “done away with” and all we have to do is “just believe”, and the rapture will take us away from judgment?
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
The Ministry of Reconciliation
5:11 Knowing therefore the terror (awe) of the Prince, we persuade men; but we are made manifest (known) unto God; and I trust (expect) also are made manifest (known) in your consciences.
The awe of Yahweh is also expected to be known by them as well.
Hebrews 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
5:12 For we commend (introduce) not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory (boast) on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory (boast) in appearance, and not in heart.
There is a difference between faith without works and faith by works. Put your works into your faith.
Looking pious is nothing if you don't act piously.
5:13 For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.
13 For either we change our position with Yahweh, or we are temperate with you.
5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
5:15 And that He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto Him which died for them, and rose again. (Rom 14:7-8; Gal 2:20)
5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we Him no more.
Don't esteem a man for his stature in life, but for his Christian actions.
Matthew 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of My Father which is in heaven, the same is My brother, and sister, and mother.
5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature (creation): old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (renewed). (Rom 6:2-22; Gal 2:20; Eph 4:22-24; Col 3:10; 1Jn 3:9-10)
Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit (DNA) of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit (DNA) of Christ, he is none of His (not of Him).
5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to Himself by Yahshua Christ, and hath given to us the ministry (service) of reconciliation;
Reconciliation of the 2 Houses of Judah (circumcision) and Israel (dispersed, uncircumcision).
5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world (society) unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
5:21 For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
21 For He who knew not error, on our behalf had caused error, in order that we would come into the righteousness of Yahweh with Him.
If you do not follow Christ's example, The Way, and Yahweh's laws, you are in error. How do you become righteous? “Just believing” is not enough, righteousness is achieved through obedience.
2Corinthians 6:1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace (favor, Divine influence) of God in vain.
We've been given grace, it is the free gift and reason why Yahshua died for us, so we might live again with Him. This verse is also explaining that there is a possibility of losing it as well.
If you are consciously imitating The Way, you are walking in righteousness, you have the grace (favor) of Yahweh. If you disregard The Way, you are insincerely ignoring He who would show you favor for striving to mimic the Prince's example.
6:2 (For he saith, I have heard you in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured you: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
The Greek: 2 (For He says, “In an acceptable time I have listened to you, and in a day of deliverance I have come to help you.”Behold, the present time is well acceptable. Behold, the present day is of deliverance.)
Isaiah 49:8 Thus saith Yahweh, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation (deliverance) have I helped you (Sons of Jacob): and I will preserve thee (Sons of Jacob, Us), and give you (Us, anglo-saxon Europe and America) for a covenant of the people (Adamic man), to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate (destroyed) heritages (inheritance);
Inheritance: Picture this: 2nd Advent, the return of our King, Judgment Day, we are tried in the fire and if our allegiance (“faith”) was strong enough and we built our lives with gold and silver on the foundation which is Christ, we will be placed in the position of sons (“adopted”), in the Kingdom here on earth and live happily ever after under the reign of the Lion of Judah, Yahshua the Anointed. If that doesn't sound like an inheritance to know, understand, and behave for, I don't know what is.
6:3 Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:
Romans 14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
6:4 But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers (servants) of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,
We suffer for standing for the truth.
6:5 In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings; (Act 16:23)
Lot's of tribulations.
6:6 By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by love unfeigned,
6:7 By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,
6:8 By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;
6:9 As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;
Tribulations.
6:10 As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
6:11 O ye Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged.
6:12 Ye are not straitened (distressed) in (by) us, but ye are straitened (distressed) in your own bowels.
Bowels: inward affection
They are bringing their tribulations on themselves. Don't forget, these Corinthians were wealthy and pagan.
6:13 Now for a recompence (reward) in the same, (I speak as unto my children,) be ye also enlarged.
'enlarged' Open up your heart.
The Temple of the Living God
6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
'unequally yoked together' This may be a hard verse to grasp, but scripture is very clear about association with the stranger (non kinsmen), those of other races.
You wouldn't yoke together a horse and an ox to pull a plow or carriage.
'unbelievers' here refers to those of other races, those without the spirit that was breathed only into Adam. It (unbelievers) is defined as infidel, faithless, heathen, altered, different, alien and stranger. Diverse kind.
Let's get another witness to see if Paul is a hypocrite.
1Corinthians 7:12 But to the rest speak I, not the Prince: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
7:13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
It's the same Greek word, and Paul is saying it is OK to keep an unbelieving spouse, of the same race of course, so is Paul saying Yea and Nea or Yea and Yea about being yoked with diverse kinds?
Leviticus 19:19 Ye shall keep My statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.
Just one of the many examples of Yahweh's command for separation. If He demands it of these things, wouldn't He of us?
14 again in the Greek: Do not become yoked together with untrustworthy aliens; for what participation has justice and lawlessness?
6:15 And what accord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
Belial means worthlessness.
The last part should read, 'Or what share the faithful with the faithless?'
6:16 And what agreement (union) hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. (Exo 29:45; Jer 31:1; 1Cor 3:16, 6:19)
This verse is an explicit and exclusive statement. The same now as then.
Leviticus 26:12 And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be My people.
Ezekiel 37:27 My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
These people are the tribes of Jacob/Israel, and later the Greeks and Romans, who are white in case you didn't notice, who are now the Anglo-Saxon peoples of Europe and America. We are the temple of Yahweh, and when we are righteous, by following the law, He can reside in us.
6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Prince, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, (Isa 52:11)
6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be My sons and daughters, saith Yahweh Almighty. (2Sam 7:14; 1Chr 17:13; Isa 43:6; Jer 31;9; Hos 1:10)
'Be Ye Separate!' Separate from what? There are MANY verses, here are some:
Isaiah 52:11 Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of Yahweh.
'thing' is in italics, which means the translators added this word. It is so they can pervert the scriptures and universalize Yahweh's promises to everyone else outside the children of Israel.
'Be ye clean', we are the vessels of Yahweh, vessels of mercy, we contain the spirit (DNA). All the others are vessels of destruction, broken cisterns that cannot hold water (the Spirit).
Lamentations 4:15 They cried unto them, Depart ye; it is unclean; depart, depart, touch (join) not: when they fled away and wandered, they said among the heathen, They shall no more sojourn there. The 'unclean' are the other races.
Amos 3:2 You (Israel-children of the 12 tribes-anglo saxon European and American) only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.
3:3 Can two (races) walk together, except they be agreed? History shows NO.
1Kings 8:53 For thou (Yahweh) didst separate them (Us) from among all the people of the earth, to be thine (Yahweh's) inheritance, as thou (Yahweh) spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou (Yahweh) broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Yahweh GOD.
Leviticus 20:24 But I (Yahweh) have said unto you (Us), Ye shall inherit their (see note below) land, and I will give it unto you (Israel-Us) to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am Yahweh your God, which have separated you (Us) from other people.
Note: In the beginning, Yahweh sent Adam to bring order to what Satan did, and inherit the earth. In the time of the Exodus, Joshua and the children of Israel (our ancestors) were given the Promised Land, and just a few hundred years ago we, the same children of Israel were given this land, America as an inheritance. Ame(Hebrew)- my people Rica(Latin)- rich, plentiful land. The new JerUSAlem.
Jeremiah 31:1 At the same time, saith Yahweh, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My people.
America, the regathering place of the 12 tribes.
2Corinthians 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness (accomplishing sanctity) in the fear (awe) of God. (Gen 12:1; Exo 19:5-6; Rev 18:4)
Paul's Joy at the Assembly's Repentance
7:2 Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.
7:3 I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you.
To die in sin together and to live in Messiah together.
7:4 Great is my boldness (openness) of speech toward you, great is my glorying (boasting) of you: I am filled with comfort (encouragement), I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.
The tribulations the apostles had to deal with was worth it because these Corinthians corrected the problems in the previous letter from Paul and were worthy of boasting about.
7:5 For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears. (2Cor 2:13)
7:6 Nevertheless God, that comforteth (encourages) those that are cast down (humbled), comforted (encouraged) us by the coming of Titus;
7:7 And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted (encouraged) in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.
7:8 For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent (regret), though I did repent (regret): for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season.
His letter was blunt.
7:9 Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance (compunction, a change of mind): for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.
7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance (compunction, a change of mind) to salvation (preservation) not to be repented (regretted) of: but the sorrow of the world (society) worketh death. (2 Sam 12:13)
Paul chastened them for their fornication and acceptance of it in 1 Corinthians. His sermon by that letter had a good affect. They repented.
7:11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation (displeasure), yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge (righting of wrong)! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.
Cleansing process, the whole community was cleansed.
7:12 Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear unto you.
If they did not take action then God might NOT appear unto them. We have to be separate from ungodliness. The “churches” today teach tolerance, but the scriptures teach intolerance.
7:13 Therefore we were comforted (encouraged) in your comfort (encouragement): yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.
7:14 For if I have boasted any thing to him (Titus) of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth.
7:15 And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.
Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
7:16 I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.
Encouragement to Be Generous
2Corinthians 8:1 Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace (favor, Divine influence) of God bestowed on the churches (assemblies) of Macedonia;
The Greek: 1 Now we make known to you, brethren, the Divine Influence of Yahweh which has been given in the assemblies of Macedonia.
8:2 How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality (sincerity, generosity, donation).
8:3 For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;
8:4 Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints. (Rom 15:26)
3 Because by ability, I attest, even beyond ability, they are volunteers
4 asking of us with much exhortation the favor and the fellowship of the service of that which is for the saints.
8:5 And this they did, not as we hoped (expected), but first gave their own selves to the Prince, and unto us by the will of God.
8:6 Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace (favor, Divine influence) also.
8:7 Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith (belief), and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace (kind gift, favor, Divine influence) also.
8:8 I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.
Paul can't command them to give.
8:9 For ye know the grace (favor, Divine influence) of our Prince Yahshua Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich.
Matthew 8:20 And Yahshua saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of Adam hath not where to lay His head.
8:10 And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago.
If the Corinthians were really willing, they would have been saving up for a year, since this is the second visit to Corinth.
8:11 Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.
8:12 For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
Give what you can. Obviously you can't give what you don't have.
8:13 For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:
8:14 But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:
8:15 As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack. (Exo 16:18)
13-15 in the Greek:
13 Not in order that there is relaxation for others, and pressure for you,
14 but from equality, at the present time your abundance for their deficiency, in order that also their abundance would be for your deficiency, that in some way there would be equality.
15 Just as it is written, “The great have not had excess, and the small have not been diminished.”
The Corinthians were a wealthy society.
The farmers left the outer rows of crops for the poor to gather.
Commendation of Titus
8:16 But thanks be to God, which put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you.
8:17 For indeed he accepted the exhortation (encouragement); but being more forward (diligent), of his own accord he went unto you.
8:18 And we have sent with him the brother, whose praise is in the gospel throughout all the churches (assemblies);
8:19 And not that only, but who was also chosen of the churches (assemblies) to travel with us with this grace (favor, Divine influence), which is administered by us to the glory (honor) of the same Prince, and declaration of your ready mind:
8:20 Avoiding this, that no man should blame us in this abundance which is administered by us:
Paul did not take money. And never asked for money. He wanted to remain above reproach.
The assembly handpicked from their own congregation the deliverer of the donations.
Tithing in today's churches is actually NOT scriptural. You won't find it anywhere. Jesus spoke of tithing only twice, and it was in reference to the hypocrisy of the religious sects. The few other times, it's used in the OT and is not in reference to money. Tithing was most likely started by the Catholics.
The assemblies were supported by the congregation, but not like today's clerical order.
8:21 Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Prince, but also in the sight of men. (Pro 3:4; Rom 12:17; Phil 4:8; 1 Pet 2:12)
8:22 And we have sent with them our brother, whom we have oftentimes proved diligent in many things, but now much more diligent, upon the great confidence which I have in you.
8:23 Whether any do enquire of Titus, he is my partner and fellowhelper concerning you: or our brethren be enquired of, they are the messengers of the churches (assemblies), and the glory (honor) of Christ (the Anointed, the group).
8:24 Wherefore shew ye to them, and before the churches (assemblies), the proof of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf.
The Corinthians were a success story for Paul, he praised them and encouraged them to remain a positive example worthy of boasting about.
The Collection for the Christians at Jerusalem
2Corinthians 9:1 For as touching (concerning) the ministering (service) to the saints, it is superfluous (unnecessary) for me to write to you:
9:2 For I know the forwardness (readiness) of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many.
9:3 Yet have I sent the brethren, lest our boasting of you should be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, ye may be ready:
9:4 Lest haply if they of Macedonia come with me, and find you unprepared, we (that we say not, ye) should be ashamed in this same confident boasting.
Paul talked good about the Corinthians, so they better be ready to back him up by being prepared.
9:5 Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your bounty (previously announced blessing, donation), whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty (blessing), and not as of covetousness (or advantage, greediness).
9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully (by blessings) shall reap also bountifully (by blessings).
Proverbs 11:24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.
9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. (Deut 15:7; Sir 20:10-15)
9:8 And God is able to make all grace (favor, Divine influence) abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
Is “just believing” considered work?
Paul is teaching that if you give to others sincerely, Yahweh will give to you.
9:9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; He hath given to the poor: His righteousness remaineth for ever.
9:10 Now He that ministereth (supplying) seed to the sower both minister (supply) bread for your food, and multiply (supply) your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)
Psalms 112:9 He hath dispersed, He hath given to the poor; His righteousness endureth for ever; His horn shall be exalted with honour.
Isaiah 55:10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from the sky, and returneth not thither, but watereth the ground, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
Hosea 10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek Yahweh, till He come and rain righteousness upon you.
Righteousness is following the law. If you love your brethren, which is the context here, you are following all the laws. By loving our brethren, we are doing exactly everything Yahweh wants us to.
9:11 Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.
The Greek: 11 In every way being enriched in all sincerity, which through us accomplishes gratitude to Yahweh.
9:12 For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want (deficiencies) of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;
9:13 Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men;
The “churches” use this verse for supporting their doctrine of collection.
Quite different in the Greek:
13 Through the proof of this service honoring Yahweh, upon the submission of your agreement to the good message of the Anointed (the group), and sincerity of the partnership for them and for all,
9:14 And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace (favor, Divine influence) of God in you.
9:15 Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable (indescribable) gift.
If you are of the 'called', your actions will show.
Paul Defends His Ministry.
2Corinthians 10:1 Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:
10:2 But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
The Greek: 1 Now I myself, Paul, exhort you by the gentleness and fairness of the Anointed (group), who concerning stature am humble among you, but being absent am bold towards you;
2 but I want, not being present, that you would be bold with the confidence with which I reckon you should be daring towards certain others who are reckoning us as walking in accordance with the flesh.
10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war (serve in accordance) after the flesh:
10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal (fleshly), but mighty through God to the pulling down (destroying) of strong holds;)
10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ (the Anointed, the group);
1Corinthians 1:19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
10:6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. (Joh 3:36)
Paul is not a pacifist, evil deeds must be punished.
10:7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.
The KJV translators were not able to discern when the Greek word 'Christos' referred to Christ Jesus, or the group. Christos means anointed, called out. Isaac was the Anointed seed of Abraham. Isaac was placed on the alter. Abraham willingly gave his son to Yahweh. No other race ever did this. Yahweh made promises to Abraham's seed (Us), for this dedication and this seed only. How dare we deny who we are AND offer it to those outside!
Verse 7 is also not a ?
7 You must look at things according to appearance. If one is confident in himself to be of the Anointed, he must again reckon this by himself: that just as he is of the Anointed, even so are we.
10:8 For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Prince hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed:
Authority as a group, not Paul the dictator. His teaching is from Christ and is for building and not for destroying.
10:9 That I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters.
10:10 For his (Paul's) letters, say they, are weighty and powerful; but his (Paul's) bodily presence is weak, and his (Paul's) speech contemptible.
Paul was not a man of great stature, like a Roman centurion, as his letters were powerful. In person he looks and sounds just the opposite.
10:11 Let such an one think this, that, such as we are in word by letters when we are absent, such will we be also in deed when we are present.
Talk the talk, walk the walk.
10:12 For we dare not make ourselves of the number (rank), or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
Be modest and humble.
10:13 But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you.
10:14 For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ: (good message of the Anointed)
10:15 Not boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men's labours (troubles); but having hope, when your faith (The Belief of you) is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule (standard) abundantly,
10:16 To preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man's line of things made ready to our hand.
10:17 But he that glorieth (is boasting), let him glory (boast) in the Prince. (Jer 9:24)
10:18 For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Prince commendeth.
The “churches” today preach personal salvation, and that YOU get to choose to be “saved”. That you have salvation because you “believe”.
The scriptures teach that He chooses us, and that we believe because we have salvation, the free gift that we are eligible for if we walk in allegiance (faith, The Belief).
Proverbs 27:2 Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.
Paul and the False Apostles
2Corinthians 11:1 Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.
11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
Do you know all about the bride? A lengthy subject, but in a nutshell, Israel is the bride of Christ. Yahweh chose Abraham's seed, gave us the law and promises, we disobeyed, He divorced us and cast us out (7x punishment-2520 years). Christ died for us so by His own law can be remarried to us when He returns. So you better repent and walk as a chaste virgin. The end of the 7x punishment ended in 1776 when a nation was born in a day. And is the regathering place of the 12 tribes. (2Sam 7:10)
11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity (sincerity and purity) that is in Christ (with the Anointed). (Gen 3:1-5,13)
11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus (Yahshua), whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. (Mat 24:5, 23-24; Joh 5:43)
Verse 4 is a question.
4 For if indeed one coming proclaims another Yahshua whom we did not proclaim, or you admit a different spirit which you have not received, or a different good message which you had not accepted, would you hold up well?
Galatians 1:7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
1:8 But though we, or a messenger from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
11:5 For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles.
11:6 But though I be rude (unskilled or unpracticed) in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.
Ephesians 3:4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of the Anointed)
11:7 Have I committed an offence in abasing (humbling) myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely?
Paul did not charge money nor accepted money.
11:8 I robbed other churches (assemblies), taking wages (provisions) of them, to do you service.
The Macedonians contributed money to Paul for him to visit the other assemblies.
11:9 And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself. (Php 4:15-18)
11:10 As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia.
11:11 Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.
11:12 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion (a pretext) from them which desire occasion (a pretext); that wherein they glory (boast), they may be found even as we.
This verse is rhetorical. Paul has to state it. The context is taking money.
The false apostles are taking money, Paul isn't.
11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
Acts 15:24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law (sacrificial rituals): to whom we gave no such commandment:
11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
The book of Adam and Eve CHAP. XXVII.
The second tempting of Adam and Eve. The devil takes on the form of a beguiling light.
WHEN Satan, the hater of all good, saw how they continued in prayer, and how God communed with them, and comforted them, and how He had accepted their offering--Satan made an apparition.
2 He began with transforming his hosts; in his hands was a flashing fire, and they were in a great light.
3 He then placed his throne near the mouth of the cave because he could not enter into it by reason of their prayers. And he shed light into the cave, until the cave glistened over Adam and Eve; while his (Satan's) hosts began to sing praises.
4 And Satan did this, in order that when Adam saw the light, he should think within himself that it was a heavenly light, and that Satan's hosts were angels; and that God had sent them to watch at the cave, and to give him light in the darkness.
5 So that when Adam came out of the cave and saw them, and Adam and Eve bowed to Satan, then he would overcome Adam thereby, and a second time humble him before God.
6 When, therefore, Adam and Eve saw the light, fancying it was real, they strengthened their hearts; yet, as they were trembling, Adam said to Eve:--
7 "Look at that great light, and at those many songs of praise, and at that host standing outside that do not come in to us, do not tell us what they say, or whence they come, or what is the meaning of this light; what those praises are; wherefore they have been sent hither, and why they do not come in.
8 "If they were from God, they would come to us in the cave, and would tell us their errand."
9 Then Adam stood up and prayed unto God with a fervent heart, and said:--
10 "O Yahweh, is there in the world another god than Thou, who created angels and filled them with light, and sent them to keep us, who would come with them?
11 "But, lo, we see these hosts that stand at the mouth of the cave; they are in a great light; they sing loud praises. If they are of some other god than Thou, tell me; and if they are sent by Thee, inform me of the reason for which Thou hast sent them."
12 No sooner had Adam said this, than an angel from God appeared unto him in the cave, who said unto him, "O Adam, fear not. This is Satan and his hosts; he wishes to deceive you as he deceived you at first. For the first time, he was hidden in the serpent (nachash-enchanter); but this time he is come to you in the similitude of an angel of light; in order that, when you worshipped him, he might enthrall you, in the very presence of God."
13 Then the angel went from Adam, and seized Satan at the opening of the cave, and stripped him of the feint (assumed or false appearance) he had assumed, and brought him in his own hideous form to Adam and Eve; who were afraid of him when they saw him.
14 And the angel said to Adam, "This hideous form has been his ever since God made him fall from heaven. He could not have come near you in it; therefore did he transform himself into an angel of light."
15 Then the angel drove away Satan and his hosts from Adam and Eve, and said unto them, "Fear not; God who created you, will strengthen you."
16 And the angel went from them.
11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. (Mat 7:15-23, 13:41-42; 2Pet 2:1-22)
Philippians 3:19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
Paul's Sufferings as an Apostle
11:16 I say again, Let no man think me a fool; if otherwise, yet as a fool receive me, that I may boast myself a little.
11:17 That which I speak, I speak it not after the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of boasting.
'after the Lord' should read '...I do not speak with authority but as if in folly, in this the substance of that reason to boast.'
12-16 Paul is warning us about false preachers. This applies today also, these also include the “innocent” preachers who are just repeating what they learned in seminary schools which usually don't teach scripture. They brainwash our well meaning pastors there with their 'doctrines of men'.
11:18 Seeing that many glory (boast) after the flesh, I will glory (boast) also.
Paul is telling the Corinthians that he brought the gospel and didn't charge or take anything for it. The “folly” he's talking about in verse 1.
11:19 For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing ye yourselves are wise.
They hold themselves up against naive and unlearned people to make themselves look wiser.
11:20 For ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take of you, if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face.
11:21 I speak as concerning reproach (dishonor), as though we had been weak. Howbeit whereinsoever any is bold, (I speak foolishly,) I am bold also.
11:22 Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I.
All statements of identity.
'They' are the false preachers Paul is addressing.
Romans 11:1 I say then, Hath God cast away His people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
Some “churches” teach that the tribes of Israel are absorbed or gone. All the “churches” teach that the OT was the Jews and the NT is the “church”. Both teachings are evil and wrong. The ancient Israelites are the same people in the OT as the NT and the peoples of Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and America. Nowhere in scripture does the “church” replace Israel. This is a 'doctrine of men'.
11:23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) (wandering from reason) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. (Act 16:23)
11:24 Of the Judaeans five times received I forty stripes save one. (Deut 25:3)
11:25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; (Acts 14:19, 16:22, 27:41)
11:26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; (Acts 9:23, 14:25)
11:27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.
11:28 Beside those things that are without (external), that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.(assemblies)
11:29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?
Paul is weak just like everybody else.
When he sees false doctrine spread, he is angry.
11:30 If I must needs glory (boast), I will glory (boast) of the things which concern mine infirmities.
11:31 The God and Father of our Prince Yahshua Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.
11:32 In Damascus the governor under Aretas the king kept the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desirous to apprehend me: (Acts 9:23-25)
11:33 And through a window in a basket was I let down by the wall, and escaped his hands.
Paul's Visions and Revelations
2Corinthians 12:1 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
The Greek: 1 A need to boast is truly not beneficial, but I do come into vision and revelations of the Prince.
12:2 I knew a man in Christ (among the number of the Anointed-group) above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
12:3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
Paul is not clear about this experience. John and Enoch had these same experiences. They were in the Spirit, their center of consciousness departed from their bodies. In other words, they believed that they were on a different plain in conscience.
The scriptures talk of up to 7 regions of heaven.
12:4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable (unutterable) words, which it is not lawful (permitted, possible) for a man to utter.
Paradise is literally garden.
12:5 Of such an one will I glory (boast): yet of myself I will not glory (boast), but in mine infirmities.
12:6 For though I would desire to glory (boast), I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.
12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan (adversity) to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
Yahweh humbled Paul, humility has power.
Ezekiel 28:24 And there shall be no more a pricking brier unto the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn of all that are round about them, that despised them; and they shall know that I am Yahweh GOD.
Job 2:6 And Yahweh said unto Satan, Behold, he is in your hand; but save (reserve) his life.
The briers and thorns in our side are the adversary, the children of darkness.
When we are not humble, Yahweh will use the adversary to teach us humility.
12:8 For this thing I besought the Prince thrice, that it might depart from me.
12:9 And He said unto me, My grace (favor, Divine influence) is sufficient for you: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory (boast) in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
Paul's weaknesses has him rely on Yahweh more. Paul was going blind.
Romans 5:3 And not only so, but we boast in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh endurance;
Paul's Concern for the Corinthian Assembly
12:11 I am become a fool in glorying (boasting); ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended (joined) of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing. (1 Cor 15:9)
12:12 Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.
12:13 For what is it wherein ye were inferior to other churches (assemblies), except it be that I myself was not burdensome to you? forgive (deal graciously with) me this wrong.
Paul was being sarcastic. They would have been offended if he did not accept their gratuity.
12:14 Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours, but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.
Paul felt like he was their father because he brought them the gospel. They were like his children receiving his encouragement.
12:15 And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.
He's going to love them anyway.
12:16 But be it so, I did not burden you: nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you with guile.
Rhetorical.
12:17 Did I make a gain of you by any of them whom I sent unto you?
12:18 I desired Titus, and with him I sent a brother. Did Titus make a gain (take advantage) of you? walked we not in the same spirit? walked we not in the same steps?
Titus picked up the designated person with the contribution for Jerusalem.
12:19 Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying (building).
12:20 For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:
There were some contentions among the assemblies. Some liked this apostle, some that apostle. Just like people who preferred to hear from different personalities. They were having “doubtful disputations” over small stuff.
12:21 And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented (reconsidered, heartily amended, changed one's mind) of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.
Verse 21 are question's.
21 Again, upon my having come, should my God humble me before you? And should I mourn for those many having failed before and not repenting after the uncleanness and fornication and licentiousness which they have practiced?
Allowing fornication is just as bad.
Further Warning
2Corinthians 13:1 This is the third time (3rd letter) I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. (Duet 17:6, 19:15)
13:2 I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare:
Paul is saying that if he were present, he would be kicking some ass.
13:3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.
Matthew 10:20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
13:4 For though He was crucified through (by) weakness, yet He liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in (with) Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward (in) you.
13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith (The Belief); prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Yahshua Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates (unapproved, spurious)? (Rom 8:10; Gal 2:20; Eph 3:17; Col 1:27; 1Jn 4:4)
13:6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates (unapproved, rejected).
Paul is referring to Edomites, other races, mixed peoples as reprobates.
13:7 Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates (unapproved).
13:8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.
13:9 For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection (restoration). (Mat 5:48)
13:10 Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Prince hath given me to edification (building), and not to destruction.
Final Greetings and Benediction
13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect (restored), be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. (2Cor 13:9; Mat 5:48)
13:12 Greet one another with an holy kiss.
13:13 All the saints salute you.
13:14 The grace (favor, Divine influence) of the Prince Yahshua Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen.
CORINTHIANS 2– CHURCH DOCTRINE VS. SCRIPTURE
Below are 3 sources of what the modern churches preach today about the book of Corinthians 2.
The purpose is to expose the apostasy and perversion of the scriptures, and to educate our people about the truth of our heritage. That we, the anglo-saxon race who are the descendants of ancient Israel, are the people of Abraham's seed and therefore the heirs of the promises of Yahweh. Not the Jews who distort and pervert the scriptures and teach the 'traditions of men'.

The book of 2nd Corinthians is a Pauline Epistle (letter from Paul). The Apostle Paul wrote it about 56 A.D. The key personalities of this book are the Apostle Paul, Timothy, and Titus. Paul wrote this letter to the church (assembly) in Corinth to defend and protect his Apostleship, and to teach and warn against false teachers who were spreading heresy.
• In chapters 1-7, Paul describes the characteristics of an Apostle. He explained that his ministry was to preach Jesus Christ alone and not himself, “For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as bondservants for Jesus’ sake” (4:5).
Paul then explains that Christians will suffer. "we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed". It is promised to followers of Christ that they will suffer. Paul states that compared to eternity with Christ the sufferings of this world are temporary and have a purpose for us: "For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal."
• In chapters 8-9, He urges the Corinthians to give the offering to the believers in Judea, as they had promised. He taught that if they gave generously they would also “reap generously” (9:6).
• Chapters 10-13 Paul defends his ministry and responds to attacks about his Apostleship. They had been questioning his authority and opposing him. Paul declares that if anyone preaches a different Gospel or a different Jesus, other than what Paul and the Apostles were preaching, they are false teachers and deceitful workers and should not be accepted.
In chapter 12: 7-10, Paul explains a theology of his own suffering. He asks God to remove a suffering from His life but God refuses. God responds to him, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness". Paul understood that God is sovereign and in control over even his sufferings. Therefore, Paul embraces his suffering because God allows them into his life for a purpose regardless of how difficult they may be. In times of calamity, he understood that these were times when he depended on God's strength and mercy the most. Paul responds, "Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with
distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong”. Paul knew he was the strongest when he felt the weakest because he depended on God, the one who has infinite strength.
The last thing Apostle Paul teaches in 2ndCorinthians is how to test yourself. If you want to know if you are a Christian, if you want to know if you are a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, than you must test yourself, “to see if you are in the faith”; examine yourself with Scripture (13:5).
This is a good commentary.
We must examine ourselves and make sure we are in allegiance (faith) with Prince Yahshua.
If you are warming the pews every Sunday, allowing homos and mix couples in the church, and waiting around for “the rapture” and “just believing”, eating pork and other unclean animals, and not observing the feast days and events, and thinking you are an adopted, grafted in Gentile, worshiping a Jewish Jesus, then you are NOT in allegiance with Christ.
If you are a searcher of truth, study the scripture (with more than just the KJV), involve Yahweh in all your decisions and thanks, follow His food laws for a clean temple and His statutes and commandments, strive to imitate Christ's example, observe the feast days and events, and know that you are an Israelite of one or more of the tribes of Jacob, and are heir to an inheritance beyond comprehension with our brother Yahshua in the Kingdom, then you ARE in allegiance.

2 Corinthians:
Second Corinthians is a deeply personal and arousing letter--a response to the complex history between the Apostle Paul and the church (assembly) he had established in Corinth. The circumstances behind this letter reveal the difficult, often painful realities of life in the ministry. More than any of his letters, this one shows us the heart of Paul as a pastor.
See how they try to support the clerical idea of church? Paul was an ambassador or messenger of the good message to the Anointed group called Israel (Us)
This epistle is actually Paul's fourth letter to the church (assembly) in Corinth. Paul mentions his first letter in 1 Corinthians 5:9. His second letter is the book of 1 Corinthians. Three times in 2 Corinthians Paul references a third and painful letter: "For I wrote to you out of much affliction and anguish of heart and with many tears ..." (2 Corinthians 2:4, ESV). And finally, we have Paul's fourth letter, the book of 2 Corinthians.
While Paul may have wrote more than 3 letters, we can only show that there were 3.
As we learned in 1 Corinthians, the church (assembly) in Corinth was weak, struggling with division and spiritual immaturity. Paul's authority had been undermined by an opposing teacher who was misleading and dividing with false teachings.
In an attempt to solve the turmoil, Paul traveled to Corinth, but the distressing visit only fueled the church's (assembly's) resistance. When Paul returned to Ephasus he wrote again to the church (assembly), pleading with them to repent and avoid God's judgement. Later Paul received good news through Titus that many in Corinthian had indeed repented, but a small and fractious group continued to cause problems there.
In 2 Corinthians, Paul laid out his defense, refuting and condemning the false teachers. He also encouraged the faithful to stay committed to the truth and reaffirmed his deep love for them.
Written To:
Paul wrote to the church (assembly) he had founded in Corinth and to the house churches (assemblies) in Achaia.
Landscape of 2 Corinthians:
Paul was in Macedonia when he wrote 2 Corinthians, responding to good news from Titus that the church (assembly) in Corinth had repented and was longing to see Paul again.
Themes in 2 Corinthians:
The book of 2 Corinthians is quite relevant today, especially for those who feel called to Christian ministry. The first half of the book details the duties and privileges of a leader. The epistle is also a tremendous source of hope and encouragement for anyone suffering through trials.
Suffering is Part of Christian Service - Paul was no stranger to suffering. He had endured much opposition, persecution, and even a physical "thorn in the flesh" (2 Corinthians 12:7). Through painful experiences, Paul had learned how to comfort (encourage) others. And so it is for anyone who wishes to follow in Christ's footsteps.
The thorn in the flesh is a reference to Canaanites and Edomites. (Ez 28:24, Num 33:55, Josh 23:13)
Church Discipline - Immorality in the church (assembly) needs to be dealt with wisely and appropriately. The church's (assembly's) role is too important to allow sin and false teachings to go unchecked. The goal of church (assembly )discipline is not to punish, but to correct and restore. Love must be the guiding force.
Why don't the churches today do this, instead they teach tolerance, don't rock the boat, or offend.
Future Hope - By keeping our eyes on the glories of heaven, we can endure our present sufferings. In the end we overcome this world.
Generous Giving - Paul encouraged continued generosity among the members of the Corinthian church (assembly) as a means of spreading God's kingdom.
Correct Doctrine - Paul wasn't trying to win a popularity contest when he confronted the false teaching in Corinth. No, he knew that integrity of doctrine was vital to the health of the church (assembly). His sincere love for the believers (his brethren) is what drove him to defend his authority as an apostle of Jesus Christ.

Second Corinthians
Who wrote the book?
Paul wrote 2 Corinthians at a vulnerable time in his life. He had learned that the church (assembly) at Corinth was struggling, and he sought to take action to preserve the unity of that local body of believers. The letter is riddled with personal comments as Paul revealed details about the persecution he had suffered for the sake of Christ as well as about a mysterious thorn in the flesh that kept him reliant on God.
Today's “churches” also push this word 'believers' and 'just believing' is all you have to do. I pray that as you study, you realize that believing is just one piece of the pie. We must obey and follow as well. Belief gets you nothing. Doing gets you everything.
As shown in the above commentary, the thorns are the seed of the serpent (Canaanites and Edomites). Our ancestors were to destroy them and leave no trace, otherwise they will be thorns in our side. Thankfully when our Prince returns, He will do what we couldn't. Read the book of Obadiah.
Where are we?
After sending Timothy off from Ephesus to deliver the letter of 1 Corinthians, Paul, in his concern for the church (assembly), made a quick visit of his own to Corinth. Afterward, Paul returned to his work in Ephesus, where he wrote a sorrowful letter to the Corinthians that has not been preserved (see 2 Corinthians 2:1–11; 7:8). Paul then departed for Macedonia. Once there, he received a good report from Titus regarding the Corinthians (7:13), which led Paul to write a fourth (3rd known) letter to them, titled “2 Corinthians” in the Bible. (See 1 Corinthians page to read about Paul’s first two letters to the Corinthians.) The apostle composed this letter near the end of AD 56, possibly in the city of Philippi.
Why is Second Corinthians so important?
This letter offers a great deal of personal insight into Paul’s life that is not present in any other New Testament book. However, in chapters 8 and 9, his letter also clearly reveals God’s plan for His people to give to others. Paul first focused on the generous example of the Macedonian churches (assemblies), largely Gentile (nations of the dispersed tribes of Israel), who gave to their Jewish (Judahite) Christian brothers and sisters in Jerusalem. Then he exhorted the Corinthian believers (brethren) to make donations of their own to the work in Jerusalem. Several realities about Christian giving become clear in these two chapters: Christians give generously according to, and at times beyond, their financial abilities; Christians give their money across racial and national lines; Christians who make commitments to give should follow through with those promises; and Christians should give cheerfully, rather than under compulsion.
We, the children of Israel, have a stumbling block within us called compassion. We are easily deterred by the enemy to aim our efforts away from our own people and try to elevate those outside our race, and bring them in when Yahweh is very clear that we are to remain separate.
What's the big idea?
The church (assembly) at Corinth had recently been struggling with divisions and quarrels. But for a majority of the believers (brethren), the problem had been solved by the time Paul wrote 2 Corinthians. Many had repented of their sinful ways and had come back into unity with one another and with the leadership of Paul.
However, Paul still felt the need to articulate a defense of his apostleship and his message. Some in the church (assembly) had apparently taken his meekness among them to be a sign of moral weakness or lack of authority (2 Corinthians 10:1–2). This could be a possibility, but since his letters gave the impression of a man of stature such as a Centurion, but his physical presence was average and soft spoken. These accusations led Paul to defend himself by arguing that he was on the same level of importance as the other apostles, that he had deep knowledge of the Christian faith, that he had suffered profound physical punishment in the name of Christ, and that he had received visions and revelations from God (11:1–12:13).
How do I apply this?
Just as Paul wrote to the Corinthians in the wake of their repentance from divisions and quarrels, the message for today is clear: living in unity requires us to humbly forgive one another and to follow our leaders (if they are righteous). Second Corinthians reminds us that even as Christians, we hurt each other and need to forgive those who wrong us (2 Corinthians 2:7). That Paul was willing to exhort the Corinthian believers (brethren) to forgive those who had fallen away and repented, even as he defended his own apostleship against a vocal opposition, illustrates the apostle’s commitment to this way of life among God’s people.
In what ways do you struggle to forgive others and/or to follow your godly leaders? An overinflated sense of ourselves often leads us to strike out on our own or hold on to our frustration and anger regarding the choices of others. However, just as Paul reminded us of Jesus’s ministry of reconciliation (5:17–19), we must seek to reconcile relationships in which disunity reigns.
The reconciliation spoken of in 5:17-19 is referring to the 2 houses of Judah and Israel. Judah kept the law and returned to Jerusalem after the Babylonian captivity. Israel dispersed from Assyrian and Babylonian captivities and lost and or forgot the laws of Moses and who they were. When Christ died, both houses were under the umbrella of His blood. Paul was the apostle to the Nations (dispersed Israel). It was Paul who brought the good message of the Anointed to them, as well as Judaeans.
